View 5 Repliesthere I am using the below code to resize images posted on a forum, however when the page is loading it loads the images full size on sreen stretching the page to however wide the largest picture is and only resizes them once every picture has loaded and the page then goes back to normal width.oes anyone know how I could make it so the images only display once they've resized ?

I have a web application with an aspanel, users can add images, the program automatically make the thumbnail. when user click on thumbnail they can see a pop up modal page.
Images are in different sizes, so what I need to achieve is to get the screen resolution or browser visible area and re-size the image according to this resolution. (users could have different type of computer screen with different resolution), I need a Javascript or jquery code.
I have a background image in body.What i want to achive is that
1)- calculate the visitor screen resolution.
2)- based on that resolution i want to resize my background image.
All I want to do is to resize my background image say bg.jpg as per the visitor's screen resolution.On internet, I did find working javascripts but they used the if (width= height= ) thing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am looking at an easier way to have the background-image for a site be resized so that it looks the same across all screen resolutions (or at least close enough). The way I am doing it now is by using Javascript to get the width of the screen and then loading an appropriate sized image. Looks like this:

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am looking for the script to resize my website pages according to user's screen size. The size of the table in the template is 1008 * 576 pixels and users with small screen are not able to see the whole page, they have to scroll horizontally. Is there anything possible without modifying my current template?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo my task was to build basically photo-based department org-charts for a SharePoint 2007 environment. Not sure why I was asked to do this as the last time I web designed was when Netscape 4.0 and IE4 were still duking it out, but whatever.I inserted my images (125x125) into tables and everything looks great. on my screen.Boss's screen, a slightly smaller monitor with a lower resolution, not so much.I'd like to be able to dynamically resize the image display sizes based on detected screen resolutions, or failing that, have at least 2 image libraries using 75x75 and 125x125 and then load one image size or the other based again on detected screen resolutions.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if you had any idea how to show a ad based on screen resolution. Sort of like how espn.com has it...when your on 800 by 600 it doesn't show the ad and msn table on the right but when you are on 1024 or higher it does. Does anyone have any idea how to do this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedDeveloping a dice game. I'm totally new at this so a bit confused with the javascript language...
Anyways, heres my code:
So what i need help with is my pictures. They wont show. Firebug says: "document.getElementById("dice" + i) is null", and I have tried to solve that but with no progress...
Next step is to show the sums of the dices on the screen and also save this sums to be able to show them later on in an alert window... But that is for later, right now the dices needs to show the right (random) sides...
I have a form with several different text boxes for things like dates,
numbers, etc. arranged in a table, each row has the same kind of text
boxes for data entry (10 rows probably).
I want to have a separate section above the form where I can toggle a
div containing an appropriate error message to appear after the
onchange event fires for the text box.
The thing is, I want all the divs with their different text messages to
appear in the same place and disappear from the same place above the
form instead of different places on the form or web page.
Well, they don't have to be multiple divs, but there are multiple
different error messages that should appear depending where the user is
typing...
Example: 'wrong format,' 'month must be between 1 and 12,' etc. Of
course the messages will be nicer than this.
I want to create an overlay to show a photo in the middle of the screen with a navigation menu. As overlay I use something like:
.overlay {
position: absolute;
top: 0;
left: 0;

I am supposed to create a calendar and have the calendar show up in the top right of the screen while also highlighting the current date set on it.
Nothing shows up...
HTM:
I have a page, which is actually a photo gallery with a table having 3 rows. First row shows the full screen size pic. Second row displays the Caption of that image and third row shows thumbnail view of six different images and the previous and next button.this is the sample layout:
<table>
<tr>
<td colspan=8>
[code]...
My requirement is whenever the user click on the thumbnail view, which is in the 3rd row, the corresponding full screen size pic should open in 1st row of the table.As my photo gallery should be having more than 6 pics, lets take 20 pics, I want to show only 6 thumbnails in 3rd row at a time. Whenever user press "Next" button the 3rd row having 6 thumbnails should show other 6 thumbnails and previous button should show previous 6 thumbnails.
iv been using a tutorial to creaete the script to show an enlarged version of an image float on the screen on mouse over. the script and everything else works but i was wondering if someone could help me to make the floating image more central as it floats down and right.

Im using the cycle plugin trying to make a banner slide tha is 100% the width of the window, my problem is that when i resize de window the banner does not align center, it stays somo what left align. So is there a way to keep the slides align center after you resize the window usingthe cycle plugin? or is there another plugin that i can do that? I attached a image to ilustrate, the white banner with the cat should align center when i resize the windows but it stays left align.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to develop a function to resize a control upon window resize. In regular javascript I would make a global array of control names and append code to the event that cycles through and resizes each control.For example
var proportionalizedImages=new Array();
proportionalizedImages.push(document.getElementById(ctrl));
if (window.addEventListener)[code]....
I'm wondering if there's a more elegant way to do this in jQuery. I've played around with it a bit, but i'm unsure how to get the control object to the resize function triggered by window resize without a global variable.
jQuery.fn.resize = function(max_size) {
$(window).bind('resize', $(this), resizeTriggered);
}[code]....
I'm looking for a resize function that will resize a window around content, in my case a div.
I've googled away but not come up with anything as yet so would like to ask if anyone knows a plug in that can do this simple task.
I'm trying to scale the text with the size of the window (I've also got all the layout sizes in ems, so this should keep the aspect ratio of everything the same as the window is resized). The code that I've got at the moment doesn't do anything -
$(window).resize(function() {
var $width = $window.width() / 10;
$("body").css("font-size", $width);
});
Is there anyway to make a custom resize function that resizes one of my div elements on the webpage the same amount of pixels as the browser window gets resized?

When I try to get the screen size (window.screen.height + window.screen.width) only IE gives me always the screen size of the main monitor where my taskbar (windows7) is located, instead of the screen size of the secondary screen where the webbrowser is located.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a div that has a negative top margin and a negative right margin. The right margin is because I want to have the div slide onto the page from the right. The top margin is because without it my page height is the height of the visible elements plus the height of the off-screen div.On a button click, I move the div down and then animate it onto the screen from the right. On button click again, I animate the div to the right, off the screen, and then move it up. I also toggle its width & padding so it will appear to grow/shrink as it moves on/off screen. At least that's what I am trying to do. The animation onto the screen looks good, but going off the screen, it appears to happen intantaneously, instead of animatedDoes anyone know how I can fix this?

I managed to resize & replace images But now its all mixed up & I also need to resize the row height. I tried to use the code I used to replace images.I must change all same class div values to followingthis means there are many rows with class='itdc')how to replace images.I found some codes that were using childNodes or something but all examples I found had no freakin comment so it seemed like a jibberish.
