Php - Uses A 'GET' Method To Append To The Default URL The Users Choice Of The Dropdown Data?

it looks like a simple form that uses a 'GET' method to append to the default URL the users choice of the dropdown data. I'm assuming this is sent to the sites server where it performs some PERL or CGI magic and sends back to the users page a link. The weathersite already has all the links created in Flash format.
I have compiled a list of all flash-links for the cities I want users to be able to choose on my page. Since I have no clue to what type server side code I would need to write, could I not use Javascript to take the users choice from the dropdown box and then output the correct Flash code into the appropriate point in the HTML page?

I have a form that opens a new window when submitted.
However, many people don't like new windows opening. So, I would like to create an option that would let users control whether the form result opens in a new window or in the same window. Can this be done?
I was thinking of adding a checkbox and if it would be chacked = new window, not checked = same window. How can I accomplish this?

I'm attempting to make user's input choice dynamically create the scrambled word game. The only thing that changes between the HTML page, and the JS files is the Array used to make the game. I researched Dynamic Arrays, but was confused, as nothing seem related to what I'm doing. What I've got going is all wrong. I know there is a better way to do this, but am confused. I have to add some technique which will solve the following problem. A form is presented to the user in our web application. Say it has
4 text fields,
2 radio buttons (Yes / No)
1 checkbox
1 select list.
Now 2 textfields are pre-populated, one radio button (Yes) is pre-selected, checkbox is not checked, one option from select list is preselected.
Problem:
In 90% of the cases, all that the user needs to do is enter values in the 2 empty textfields and click Submit.
However, the user might change the values in the preselected controls, like check the checkbox, change radio selection from Yes to No, select a different option from the select list, change the default values from the prepopulated text fields.
Now in such a case where 'default' values are changed, I need to show a alert or a popup layer to the user when the submit button is clicked.
Showing a popup layer or an alert:
The popup layer/alert will be a confirmation popup which will say something like -
"You have changed the default values for:[all the fields which were changed by user]. This requires you to do [some task] once you submit the form.
If you do not wish to change these defaults, click Cancel.
To proceed with the changes, click OK and then Submit."
Clicking OK:
If user clicks OK, then all is well. User will click Submit to submit the form and do some task which is required when defaults are changed.
Clicking Cancel:
If user clicks Cancel then the defaults should be restored. User is now free to click Submit. Code:

On my portfolio site, I use the .append() method quite a bit, but I'm running into a problem with Validation.

But the validator is coming back saying that I can't use either the < > or p tags and my page won't validate. I've tried using the < and > alternative, but then the p tag isn't honored when appended to the #emptyDIV[URL]..

It works perfectly in Firefox and Chrome, but in IE 7/8 it doesnt do anything. In fact, in IE the inputs that I insert dinamically when I press the button " agregar" doesnt appear in the page, but they are there, because when then when i do the Insert I have all of that dinamyc inputs that I put. The problem is that they are not shown in the page.

How would I go about making the default SELECTED go to the state depending on a php variable? Let's say I have a variable passed to this page called "stateCode"
-If the variable's value is AK, how would I make the default option shown SELECTED be Alaska?
-If the variable is TX, how would I make it default Texas?

Is there a way to override the default behaviour for single selects which makes it impossible to unselect a selected item?

My problem is that users have the ability to manipulate querystrings to the point of being able to access data to which they should not have access to. The user logs in with their details and is redirected to their own data. The URL in the status bar is displayed without the &id=xxxx but in the source the &id=xxxx is present as a HREF. If the user adds &id=xxxx (Where x is any integer) they can access the data of other users. how to prevent this? To my mind, the best course of action would be to include id=xxxx in the session data and not to have it as a querystring but I would not know how to approach this.

When I tried to use it and append data to a div, it works fine. With that said, I was wondering if it can be used to simulate, for instance, a php include file. Such as:

no appending it to a div for display, just good old fashion "include the contents of this php file, with a querystring appended to it"

I have a single select dropdown in my application which is hidden for one type of user group. Before a user from this group can save any data, I have to explicitly select the default value of this dropdown for him as this dropdown is not visible to him.
Issue: In IE, this default value doesn't get selected as it is not populated but works fine in Firefox. Is this a jQuery bug?

I am analyzing header tags for submitting forms online in order to better understand how htmlhttp forms work- signing in to gmail, yahoo mail, and amazon, using the network tab of google developer tools, to view the http headers of requests and responses, and learn where they come from. I am seeing very peculiar behavior in my browser's (chrome)request headers when signing into amazon. The form data, always has the following two header names appended to the second and third to last places of the form data query: x=(some random number), and y=(some random number).
There are no input tags getting dynamically generated,since when i tell google chrome to break on all subtree modifications, the site still sends off the post with the added parameters before anything gets modified, BEFORE crashing. There also is NO ajax call which is causing dynamically added data to be appended to the form post.My question is this: is there any way, using javascript, to instruct a browser, to append data as data, to a form post, WITHOUT the use of dynamically appended input elements, or ajax?
