I've been going round in circles on this big time, getting very annoyed, and can't seem to find an answer anywhere. This little bit of jQuery collapses our menu, so that when we roll over, the sub menus float out:
<script type="text/javascript">
function initMenu() {
$('#SideCategoryList ul ul').hide();
$('#SideCategoryList li a').hover(
function() {
$(this).next().slideToggle('slow');
}
);

I have a page with dozens of anchored links. When you click on the link, the appropriate div becomes visible. Each div contains an image. Because each DIV has a large image associated with it, it takes entirely too long for the page to load. I would like to set the IMG SRC inside of the div when they click. Each anchor href is the exact same name as the image to be loaded - so #dali would contain dali.jpg. How dow I pass the HREF minus the hash mark (#)? This is as far as I've gotten:
$("a").click(function() {
var whichDiv = $(this).attr("href");
$(whichDiv).attr("src", "images/art/" + whichDiv + ".jpg");
});

I have an HTML link (<a href='somepage.php'>......)
When someone clicks this, I would like to have a Javascript input box popup to accept some data, then have it pass the data in the url.
The ending result would be a jump to page: somepage.php?data=my%20input
I'm not even sure how to word a google search for this.
I am having some issues with getting a variable from an onclick event with javascript.
$('#preview_logo').append('<img src="'+fileObj.filePath+'" height="100px" hspace="5" /> '+fileObj.name+' uploaded.<a href="javascript:;" id="dele_image" onclick="del_image('+fileObj.filePath+','+fileObj.name+');">Upload Different Image</a><br>');
This is for uploadify script for previewing an image that is uploaded, it creates the link fine, but won't trigger the function "del_image" unless I delete the parameters in the onclick, which leads me to believe it is something to do with my quoting. Here is the function:

I'm using mootools-core-1.3.2.js to hide/show a div tag. Now what I want to do is : * slide the div tag away (done and works);* get the value from the "horizontal_status" and put in in PHP var to toggle something else
Here's the javascript code:
<script type="text/javascript">
window.addEvent('domready', function() {
var status = {
'true': 'open',

My issue seems basic enough but i can't seem to get things working.
I have a list of links within a div as follows:

every time i try something it doesn't work for me :( god why is this javascript so hard to make it work... anyway, i just followed the guidelines to pass values from one page to another using ? and it simply, like always, DOES NOT work .
<HEAD>

I'm not sure whether or not this is possible, but I want to have control over the Javascript function that is called when a target web page is opened (ie as the onload function in its <body> tag). In other words, the calling page will have several <a href ...> tags referencing the same page, each specifying a different onload function. Is it possible to effectively pass a parameter in this way? I have not been able to find any solution to this.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to make a variable link on a page. The page has a text box
for a stock symbol. The code is: <input type=TEXTBOX Name="symtb"
value="" size="10>
The value of the text box {the stock symbol} will complete the url.
I found code for a variable link:
<script language="JavaScript">
<!--
function variable_in_link(varible_value)
{
new_win = window.open('http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=" +
varible_value'')
}
// -->
</script>
The link I am trying to use is: <a
href="javascript:variable_in_link(symtb)">The text</a>
No matter what I do the variable_value comes back as undefined. There
is always a value in the text box.
I want to know if there is any way to access an external site, search for an a statement and get it's href, like this:
<a href="http:google.com/" target="_blank">Click Me!</a>
I need the code to search for the Click Me! href on the middle of a HTML file.
I am making a page that uses JS to bring up a "popup <div>" when the user clicks on a particular link. I am concerned that if the users browser has JS turned off, nothing will happen when they click. I thought the way around this would be to have a valid href in the link so that if the JS doesn't work, the browser will be directed to an alternative page.
Can I include something in my JS function so that when the user clicks the link, the JS will run and disable the href link at the same time? My thinking is, if JS is disable in the browser, this function would not work, so the browser would continue to load the href link.
I have a test blog I am working on at:
[URL]
I am trying to add some jquery image rollovers like the type featured on ThemeForest:
[URL]
I got the image rollovers to work, however I want to add links to them. Each time I add an href tag around the images, the script stops working.
for example let's say we have:<a id="link" href="google.com">click</a>I want to be able to click the link, as if the click was made by the user ( left mouse button click ).I know I can do this way:document.location.href = $('#link').attr("href");but I believe it's not the same thing as if the user make that click.

Can anyone tell me how I can do this with Javascript?
I've got a script that toggles the visibility of a div on "dashboard.html":
$(document).ready(function(){
$("#add_networks_wrapper, .remove_box").hide();
$(".toggle_add_networks").show();
$('.toggle_add_networks').click(function(){
$("#add_networks_wrapper, .remove_box").slideToggle();
});
});
On "dashboard.html" it works great. The div "add_networks_wrapper" is hidden until I click the link that toggles it. What I need is a link from a different html page (say "account.html" or whatever) to open "dashboard.html" with the hidden div's visible.

I have a link:

I want the HREF value to be carried through my jQuery function. The function goes as follows:
User clicks link Linked icons fade out and reappear smaller at the top of the page Link HREF is followed
The new page will have the logos in the same place as they fade out too and content will appear in a frame below. However, I am clueless when it comes to Ajax and jQuery and would really like to learn, hence why I am using it. How do I carry the HREF through? Or are there better ways to do it?

I am trying to get the plugin working so I can submit from a link (using meta plugin) but it don't seem to be working
$(document).ready(
$("#submitregister").click(
function() {
$("#com-createForm").validate({ meta: "rules" } );
}););
This works from a submit button :
$(document).ready(function(){
$("#com-createForm").validate({ meta: "rules" } );
});
I'm using the jmapping plugin and it's all working great - when you click on a location link in the side bar the map pans to the location. However what I also want to happen when I click the location link is to load more information about the location onto the page.The idea is to load the div from infodivs.aspx which has an id that matches the href of the link that was clicked. I can make the whole page load without issue but I can't get my head around the syntax for identifying the href of the clicked link and then inserting that into the load statement as a div id.I've tried this.href but if that's actually the right approach, I haven't phrased it right so farHere's the code:
$("a.map-link").click(function () { $('div#moreinfo').empty().load('infodivs.aspx what goes here?');
});

I have no idea about javascript but wanted to use the Konami script on my site. This is the current code:

I just wondered how to get the javascript to include the class so that it acts in the same way it would if just clicking the link. I imagine this is upsettingly easy to do but I can't seem to find anything about it!?
