I am trying to do a page redirect upon timer completes counting down to 0 from 5 seconds. I used a script from the internet, but so far I cant get to work.I have also in the file some php and html. the php is just to echo out some text and the html is doing the redirect via a meta tag.

But the problem is that it redirects wrongly.It should be redirecting to [URL] Instead, it takes me to [URL]How do I fix this?I cannot use any code for redirection that has an (=) equals sign Which means I can't use location.href='http://google.com'

View 18 Replies View RelatedI've got a form for adding a person to a textfile. The form is made with html and i submit it to a perl-file, where i read out the input and write it in a textfile. After writing the file i want to make a redirect to an overview page with each user and there i want to have a success-message ("user successfully added").
How do i make this success-message on the overview-page after the redirect from perl? I know, i could just redirect to the overview-page with a parameter (overview.html?success=true) and then if the parameter is set, display a success-message. but if i handle it with a parameter then the success-message does not hide after a page-refresh.i've seen a lot of web-applications where the success-message is displayd but hides after a page-refresh..ps: here is an example of an application where they have it programmed like i want it:[URL]
We are sending an html email from asp page.In the email we
appended an image tag and the "src" attribute points an asp page in our
server.Here when ever user read the email this image tag will fire our
asp page.It is working fine if we open the mail in web browsers.It is
failing in outlook express.We modified the code a bit and replaced the
<imgtag with <iframetag.It is woring fine in outlook express now.
but it is not failing in web browsers.Do we have any other alternative
method to call an asp page from the email.

Within my code below, when selecting 'Animals'in the dropdown menu a second dropdown menu appears.Selecting any item within this second dropdown menu causes a page redirect. When you click the back button in the browser, this second dropdown menu disappears in every browser besides Firefox. I want the user to be able to change their animal selection, e.g. choose 'Cat' first, then go back and choose 'Bird'.
I don't understand why the second dropdown menu disappears, going 'back' should display the page as it was. Is there any way to get the second dropdown menu to reappear without using a jQuery history plugin? This code does not behave as I have described in jsfiddle, so have pasted it here:

When I open page2.html, and click on the brnClick link, it changes the content of divclick. If I open page1.html, and then navigate to page2.html, click on the link does not work.
Goal 1: display errors above the form on same page
Goal 2: direct users to a new thankyou page when form is submitted.
The form uses ajax. I am able to get it to work with the error messages displaying correctly but as is, the thankyou message also displays in the same spot and the form is left filled out. I need it to direct to a new page I designed for the purpose.
I have some initialization to be done at page load time, which changes
the text of some anchors so that they are consistent with the query
string (these anchors are used as criteria selectors, and should be
initialized to the criteria contained within the url).
IE and Safari fire the onload event before rendering any elements, so
when the event handler synchronizes the anchors, they are rendered with
the right contents immediately. Firefox, though, renders the page
first, and then fires the handler, which results in the anchors getting
their initial values, and then changing to proper selections. I've
tried calling my init() method immediately after the anchors are
defined in my document - no difference, looks like Firefox is rendering
everything as soon as it's encountered in the document.
Is there any way to have my code run before any elements are rendered
in Firefox? Currently I've "solved" this by hiding the containing div
in the document, and showing it after making changes. This results in
the UI visually reloading itself with each new page, which is not very
desirable either.

I have a form in which i have a dropdown list and a submit button. I want to code so that when users select the value from the dropdown list, it should redirect then to the specified page. I'm trying to redirect away from a page using AJAX, and I'm having a tough time figuring out how to do it properly. From what I understand, an AJAX request thinks it's done when a script echoes something, so this is what I have, for the script run behind the scenes and the HTML with AJAX:

I think what's happening here is that the Location header in the PHP is overwriting the echo, since I'm calling the Run.php script twice, so the AJAX request never knows it's ready. This also means, I think, that I'm missing something fundamental about how AJAX works, and I'm doing the redirection wrong
I have a page that opens up a popup window after clicking a button. I want to test if the parent/previous page is a certain page when the popup window loads and if it is not then I don't want the popup window to open. I also want the page to redirect if a person just puts the popwindow address into their browser. I am working with asp.net vb and I am told javascript is the best way to do this. I know enough to open the popup window using javascript and that is about it.
