OnClick For Table A Row, But Not To Its Links!

Mar 13, 2006

I have table with many rows indicating my record. I want my rows to
load my record, so I attached an onClick event to every row that loads
the proper record. Now, there are options associated to every record
(delete link, select checkbox, etc) that don't result in loading the
record. The problem should be obvious, upon the user clicking on any of
those options, the row's onclick is triggered which is undesirable
behaviour.

Onclick Links Stopped Working ?

Apr 8, 2010

I recently went into twp php files and made a few very minor changes to some outdated $date functions. Now, I have three small icons for 'copy', 'paste','delete' using the javascript 'onclick' function that have stopped working.

In fact, when I replace the two recently revised files with the originals, these icons no longer work there either.

From the primary php file is the relevant lines of source code....As far as I can tell, the second paragraph in each area is returning a 'null' value; i.e. o1a.options.selectedIndex is null.

From the supporting php file are the following lines of code....

None of these lines of code were changed or altered when I was updating the code.

Links Within Sub-div, Parent Div Has Onclick Event?

Dec 2, 2010

I have a parent div, that when hovered over changes the background color.There is a onclick event so that a user can click anywhere within the div for the link to work.Inside that div I have another div with unique links. When I click on any of those links, it also activates the other onclick event. I don't want this.Here is my code

<div class="cat1" onmouseover="style.backgroundColor='#09F'; this.style.cursor='pointer';" onmouseout="style.backgroundColor='';" OnMouseUp="location.href='http://a.com/details.php?id=305366';">
<div class="itemwrapper">[code].....

I'm guessing I need to create some type of function that will detect where the click came from and then decide whether to fire it or not?

Navigate Anchor Links Using A Button Onclick Event?

Feb 18, 2010

I am wondering if it is possible to navigate anchor links using a button onclick event. I want next and previous hit buttons to navigate the already existing hits (#hit1, #hit2, etc.).For instance, I have:

<script type="text/javascript">
var numHits = {HITS}-1;
function nextHit(){[code]....

I have seen working examples with the href tag (e.g. <a href="#" onclick="func();return false">), but nothing with buttons. I also can't seem to get the working href examples to work on my server.For instance, I cannot get this code to work, it just goes to js_required.html:

<a href="js_required.html" onclick="doSomething(); return false;">go</a>
function doSomething(){
alert("test");

Random Images In A Table Plus Links

Sep 22, 2010

I've been looking everywhere for the answer to this problem- maybe your site and members is the one who can do it the random images are working as I want, EXCEPT, I want to make each one of these random images clickable to a url.It would be great if you knew. Also - if you know how to add a matching quote for each image right underneath it, that would be awesome, but having the clickable image is more important right now but I have not had any luck with matching up links and images in the 4 td cells.

Onmouseover Not Firing In Firefox - Doesn't Recognize Table Rows As Links

Jan 3, 2011

I've been working on a project for some time now, and just recently I installed Firefox.

Now, part of the site (which works perfectly in IE6/7) doesn't work in Firefox.

Here is part of the code:

Code:

(I didn't copy all of the code because it's basically the same all the way down)

The main problem is with the link (Firefox apparently doesn't recognize table rows as links). The second problem is with the onmouseover/onmouseout etc handlers (absolutely nothing happens).

just in case you need to know, the code is for a nav bar.

Table Row OnClick To Show / Hide Embedded DIV

Aug 12, 2011

I have a php page that essentially builds a pay report in the form of a table. The php side builds the page properly, though it took some time to get the table rows onmouseover and onmouseout functions to work for row highlighting. Now the issue is the table row's onclick function.

Here is what the outputed html looks like.
<head><script type="text/javascript" language="javascript">
function HideShowDiv(divID){
if (document.getElementById(divID).style.display == "none"){
document.getElementById(divID).style.display = "block");
document.writeln("show "+divID);
}else{
document.getElementById(divID).style.display = "none";
document.writeln("hide "+divID);
}} .....

<tr>
<td colspan="2" align="right">Some Association of Baseball</td>
<td align="right">$24</td>
<td align="center"></td>
</tr>
</table>
</div> <!-- Closes the main body div container -->

In my javascript function, the writeln() calls are for testing to see if the even is even firing. but nothing gets written to the page. Basically I want the row with the users name to be clickable which will show the details in the hidden div associated with the user.

Jquery :: Create Some Links With Window.open Method - When I Alert What Is Being Built, The Links Don't Work?

Mar 10, 2010

I'm using jquery/ajax to create some links with window.open method. Here's the relevant code:

$("#content").empty();
$.ajax({
type: "GET",[code]..........

Basically, when you click a link a function is called with a parameter based on the particular link you run. Then the code runs through an xml file, and if the parent of the nodes I've cyling through has a value equal to the parameter past to the function, that node is used to create a new link with window.open function attached to it.It all works, or seems to, and when I alert what is being built, it looks right to me, yet the links don't work.I've attached a copy of one of the alerts of one of the links as it's built.
