Make The Script 'automatic' As Text Is Being Submitted To The Div Rather Then By The Push Of A Button?
Jul 5, 2010
This script is perfect to auto-scroll some text being sent in via php as a means of scrolling down to the bottom so users can read the incoming data. However, this one makes use of a button. how to make the script 'automatic' as text is being submitted to the div rather then by the push of a button?
Code:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
<html>
<head>
I have seen this in help files and on a few other sites but I am not sure what the correct lingo is for this function but I am looking for a way to hide a layer of text below a heading and then make it appear when the heading is clicked but I need it to push down the text that is below it and not cover it up.
I am working on a project that relies heavily on AJAX calls, they are done in dozens of places. There are a number of places where I would want to prevent the user from submitting information multiple times (form submissions etc ). I am trying to think of the best way to accomplish this.
I could simply disable the element that starts the AJAX call upon the first click and re-enable it upon completion of the call. I have also seen examples of developers using a class to handle ajax calls that store an identifier for the call and if it is in progress any new calls with the same identifier will be ignored.
On my site I have a file uploader. <table align="center"class="table"> <tr> <td class="table_header" colspan="2"><b><?=$websitename;?></b> </td> </tr><tr> <td colspan="2" class="upload_info"> <b>Allowed Types:</b> <?=$types?><br /> <b>Max size per file:</b> <!--<?=$max_file_size?>-->50MB.<br /> <b>Max size for all files combined:</b> <!--<?=$max_combined_size?>-->150MB.<br /> </td></tr> <?For($i=0;$i <= $file_uploads-1;$i++) {?> <tr> <td class="table_body" width="120%"><b>Select File:</b> </td> <td class="table_body" width="120%"><input type="file" name="file[]" size="30" /></td> </tr><?}?><tr> <td colspan="2" align="center" class="table_footer"> <input type="hidden" name="submit" value="true" /> <input type="submit" readonly value=" Upload File(s) " /> <input type="reset" name="reset" value=" Reset Form " /> </td></tr><tr></table>
What I want it to do is when they have clicked upload file(s) I want that to change to "your files are being uploaded" and make the button unclickable?

How can I send information to an input box, through a script?
e.g.
Here is a web site. [url]
It has an input box
Address:
When I type a web site address in the address bar (e.g. www.google.com) and click on I AGREE AND WISH TO SURF then it will visit that web site.
If I have bunch of URLS in a text file and I wanted to send that one by one to that text box, how could it be done, since I want to visit a few web sites and capture that page to a file (and I have a program that does that)?
I dont want to sit on the computer and type those urls one by one, how can it be sent through a file.
I work at a bar in Louisiana and have been put in charge of the website.
Every day (Sun-Sat) we update the main page with who is bartending that night, along with a few other edits.
I don't come into the office until 2pm, Mon-Fri.
I would really prefer if the website could be updated 'automatically' at like, 4am or something, every day. Instead of me struggling to figure out how I'll update it on weekends.
I have to use FrontPage, so I'm limited in the types of codes I can use. But Javascript seems to work well.
What I'm thinking is have an 'updates' folder with pages labeled either by weekday (sunday.html monday.html tuesday.html, etc) or by date (072410.html, 072510.html, etc). Then the main page having some code that pulls from those files. (I'd prefer the weekday setup if I have the option)
Since the bar doesn't close until 2am most days, I'd rather not have it change over at exactly midnight, but I'm willing to work with that if it means I know it's being updated every day regularly.
What am I doing wrong here? I am trying to make it where the user can name the link whatever he/she wants.... I think it might be this part... links[i] = name.linkPosition.value; Where linkPosition is a variable.
I have 3 options in my dropdown box. In the onchange event of the dropdown, i am submitting the form.User selects a value in the dropdown and when the form gets submitted, the selected data in the dropdown is not getting retained, it is always going to first one. How to set the selected data in the dropdown after the page is reloaded?Below is the code i have used.
I'm looking for a javascript/css code that can do the following, for a click button:
- When mouse is not over the click-button, a text should be displayed at the right of the button, in a bordered textbox - 85% transparency (hardly visible)
(- when mouse hovers over the button, the button image changes to a different one <- I know how to do this)
- When the button is clicked the text shows up normaly (0% transparency)
- When clicking again the button OR anywhere else on the page, the text goes back to 85% transparency.
I have it set up so that there are three frames (frames and the use of javascript are encourage for practice) "bar" on the left with navigational options, "main" in the center where the body of the drill is presented, and "feedback" along the bottom where the feedback will appear.
My issue is that I have everything working except the form! I'm not sure how to make it so that upon clicking the submit button the feedback is presented in the "feedback" frame. This was suggested to me but isn't working, maybe I have a mistake somewhere? Or is there another way I can do this?
<html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> function CheckCheckbox() {
I am new to javascript, and am having an issue, which I'm sure is elementary.. I found a script for expandable content, it suffices fine. As it stands, the script toggles images onclick. For example, whence the menu is collapsed, it displays "plus.gif" next to it, and when the menu is expanded, it displays "minus.gif" next to it.
Basically, what I would like to know is, thus: how would I change it to display text icons next to it? For example, in place of "plus.gif" I should like it to display "+" as actual text. I've dredged a number of places, however, I've found nothing. Furthermore, I cannot figure out how to do it.
I've been following this tutorial (and it works great)URL...Just cannot figure out how to make one of the Text Fields a Text Area with cols="45" rows="5".Every combination I've tried turns off the validation. I've already added completely different text fields from what are shown in the tutorial so I know how to change up the javascript I just can't get the Text Area right.
I have an array question. I think that you'll have to run the script in your browser to see the results. The below array separates ages but I get stuck on how it does this when I get to line 6 and beyond. Line six reads "if (tempAge <21) minors.push(tempAge);"
I only understand that the pop method takes the number 19 off of the ages array. So if this is so then I think that line 6 reads that if 19 is equal to or less than 21 do something, but I don't know what it does after that, please help me understand how it works.
I have a message system that I want to prevent double posting. So when a user sends a message i would like to disable the button. But its done using AJAX and will load without much time. But enough to cause double clicking. So now the button needs to be enabled once Text is put in the Form Field.
How can I create a text input field which has a value displayed by default and when a use clicks in the filed, it disappears? Similar to a "search..." box - when a use goes to search, the "search..." text disappears.
I want to make one div appear by the click on a link, and the divbelow the appeared one has to be pushed down some pixels.So if I click the link inside the top div:
I'm trying to do something that would be very easy to do in php, but is quite hard in javascrpit due to the lack of support of associative array.
[Code]....
.push() to add clickedElementId as a value associated to a numeric key, but then the re-click is beyond my skills. How would you approach such a typical algo in javascript?
Im new to javascript. I want to add a similar function on my blog like on http://techcrunch.com/2011/08/04/gro...tartup-obtiva/ when you press on author. It is a drop down made with javascript. Anybody can help with a similar javascript as I was trying different implementations for the whole night with no luck.
Maybe, anybody know a similar javascript online which I could modify?
We've got a CDROM with a Flash Projector movie on it. Within the Flash projector (which is already burned on CDROM...can't change it), we have the typical getURL fuctions to open a Web browser and browse a link. This works fine when there isn't a browser window already open: the link opens in the FOREGROUND, infront of our Flash Projector.
However, now we've got a problem since after we've burned the CDROM, if a user has a Web browser open already, and clicks a link within the Projector, the new window does not come to the front...it simply stays behind the full-screen projector.
So, we've tried putting an onLoad="window.focus;" tag in our BODY tag on the web pages our Project is linking to, and that actually worked at first (the pages are ASP Classic). However, they're not working anymore. We're really not sure why.
When we load that page, quickly flip to another via ALT-TAB, the first page DOES come forward. However, it doesn't seem to come infront of another application. So, if we hit reload for the above page, then quiclkly ALT-TAB to MS Word, the page will not force itself infront of Word.
How do I use array.push to add an object with a custom index in an array?I have this script but it doesnt work. Chrome's Javascript console is not outputting errors
