Make A Function Image Link To A New Page?

I have made a javascript image viewer where there are thumbnails at the top and when you click on them the bigger image below the row of thumbnail image changes accordingMy question is, how do i make the larger image become a hyperlink to the corresponding page it represents. Alternatively, it would not be a problem if a caption could be displayed below which i could make into a hyperlink.Here is my script .js file

I want to use an image map for something unique. The image would have about 10 to 15 (religious) symbols. When the user clicks on a particular symbol it will search the site for a few strings relating to that symbol. For example: Symbol 1 would be a cross when clicked it search the site for "christ, crucifix, christianity". I am sure I can make the image map but how do I make the image map call a function instead of a link.

I am writing a Javascript to sort and write out some stuff. PHP is not an option so I need to get this script working.
The problem arises when I want to make a link to the next page. (i.e. Like the link in Google for the next 10 results)
I have <a href=# onclick=FUNCTION(VALUES)> written dynamically by the script.
It is written onto the document correctly, but the problem is, when the link is clicked, some seemingly random values are passed to the function.
When you run the code, the first alert will show all the values that a were passed to the function. The second and third will show what was written to the document.
If you try clicking the next button after the code loads, the values that result will be unusual.

I started using jQuery yesterday so im a noob. I have a navigation bar, and i want it to display a background image on the active menu item. (Like the top most menu on this website, it has a little blue underline)

Line 2: It loops though all the <a> tags in an <UL> with id nav_prim. (The <a> tags are inside of <li>'s in the <ul>.
Line 3: I check to see if the <a> tag's href atribute is the same as the URL of the page, if it is
Line 4: i want that specific <a> tag's background-image to be images/nav_bg.gif.
I can't get it to work. In firefox i get the error " $("ul#nav_prim a")[i].css" is not a function.
Why is that? Can anyone please help me? As i've said im new to jQuery and Javascript in general aswell.

I'm new to jQuery, but learning fast, and loving the new functionality!I'm using a Flash upload component that all works fine, and once it's complete (file uploaded) it calls function.I'm running the Flash upload in a modal (nyroModal - very cool!). Using a UI dialog I'd like to load in 10 or so images. Each would be unique and after you click on one the following needs to happen:
1. Image appears on the parent page in a specified ID.
2. A "hidden" field is updated so that when the user submits the db is updated with their selection.
3. Dialog closes automatically.
That's it. Basically it would work similar to "datepicker".I'm using the latest 1.4 and ui and been making great progress as learning basics. I need to do the above and it seems like such a no brainier and or it should already exist but after 2 days of searching and trial and error...

I'm trying to build a menu with an animation color and my problem is that the funtion is apply to all the links in the menu but ideally I would like to apply to all elements less the one with the id current.
at the moment I just created two functions but still apply both of them to the current link.
Here is the code:

I found it difficult trying to put a short and concise title for you all to understand.My problem: Basically, I have an image (its a + sign), when clicked I need this + to change to a -. When clicked again, it needs to return to being a +.Below is the current code I am using:

This code works fine if I just have one instance of it. But If I want multiple ones, one stops working and the other functions instead.
I tried the following:

This causes the problem I explained above.I also tried specifying an id in the function change() syntax, but I couldn't get that to work.

I have over 100 images I would like to display on their own page, but link to them from an index page.Rather than have over 100 seperate pages can anyone think of a way to link to the same page but call the required image. This is an over simplification of what i'd like to do:

I am using a javascript gallery plugin, Galleriffic, to display an image gallery. I am having an issue with it as when the image is clicked it keeps jumping back to the top of the page. The problem with this is that the thumbnails which are underneath the main image on the page aren't visible and the user must then scroll to see them.
Is there any way that I can change this so that the link on the image doesn't make the page jump back to the top? I don't have my version online but the website will show you the code that is being used.

I have a slide show program. First theres stuff to set up the array, and the time between slides Then a function startIt()is defined then a function stopIt()
Then two buttons, Start and Stop, which when pressed call the relevant
functions.
When the page loads, you have to click the Start button to get the
slide show running, but I'd like it to start running straight away
without having to click. I can't for the life of me figure this out.

I was thinking that this would be easy with jQuery but the problem is thatjQuery isaclientside action and when the link is clicked its a server side request response and the image should stay the same... is this a little clear ...?

I wanted help for a JavaScript code. You might think I'm lazy for not writing it myself, but the truth is I am not a JavaScript coder. I just have a really simple website and I am trying to do something for which I know JS is required but I don't know how to do it. I've also searched around but couldn't find the appropriate code.
What I want to do is to make an html page load a different background image every time it refreshes.I will have a list of background images and I want to be able to add in this list, without having to change anything else in the codes after I do this (I think this is made by making an array of images and by putting .length somewhere in the codes, but I don't know exactly how I should do this).I already know how to do an external file (.js) and link to it from my .html page.Now I want the code to put in the .js file, and the code to put in the <body> of my .html file.

Can anyone assist me with what I am trying to do with the following
code (six different scenarios to try to make the functionality work
correctly)?
I want to always (and ONLY) display in the status bar 'Symantec
Corporation' whenever anyone mouses over (onMouseOver) my image or
link OR when one clicks while holding the left mouse down (onClick) on
the same image or link. Upon releasing the mouse (onMouseOut), the
status bar should be 'blank'. I need the link to open in a new window
via my function openWindow(URL) code.
What is happening in most of the six scenarios, is that when one
clicks the link, either the function doesn't engage, but rather the <a
href= takes effect instead OR that status bar shows
'javascript:openWindow('http://www.symantec.com/');' when one clicks
while holding the left mouse down (onClick) on the image or link.
Additionally, for only the link, I need the CSS/style to show 'red'
when one mouses over (onMouseOver) it and then change to 'blue' upon
releasing the mouse (onMouseOut).
How about integrating 'style="cursor:hand"' into the code or perhaps
setting some of the data via a <div> or <span> snippet? Code:

I am trying to put an image on the front page of my website that changes to one of two random images on mouseover. This part was easy, and has been done (I got the code from [URL] But what I am finding difficult is to make each image link to a different page. For example, if the user mouseovers the main image and sees the 'thumbs up' image, then clicks on it, they should be taken to the 'thumbs up' page. And if the user mouseovers the main image and sees the 'thumbs down' image, then clicks on it, they should be taken to the 'thumbs down' page. I would like to include drop-down navigation links on my home page that connect to other pages on my website. No problem there. The problem is that some of the other pages contain a series of div elements that are hidden (display:none) until activated by javascript enabled links on the page. Clicking those links changes some of the page's content (within a div) .. almost like a "new" page. [URL]. Here's my question: Is there any way to create menu links on my home page that will open the "concert.html" page AND display the appropriate div content at the same time?
For example: on the home page, a menu link under "Concert" that opens that page and automatically displays the "Rock Symphonies" section?

Im trying to have a click event that replaces an image on the page with a new image that has been selected randomly from an array. I have solved PART of this already (can get the random image to appear).
However, instead of appearing on the page where the old image was, the new image appears in a blank page.
My research indicates that this blank page location-problem is a result of using document.write in the Function. Therefore, I know I need to find a different way to accomplish this, but am failing miserably.
I have been trying for hours and hours and HOURS to figure out proper syntax for accomplishing this via elements, functions, variables and mootools.

how can I make simple mouseover image tooltip on the little cubic image in the first column of every row - when it's mouseovered, the image of current book, which is in that row, should be in tooltip.The name of every the image in folder "slike" is exactly the same name as the value of "slike" in xml for every book(knjiga)!
