Does anyone have any recommendations/experience for loading a styled panel on the page (possibly based on a timer)? Do you know when you're on a site and a window pops up asking if you need help or want to chat... that's what I'm looking to accomplish. Something more than just text... I want a fully styled panel.
View 1 Replieswhat it does is that it hide and show a panel by slidint it to the left.But my client want that on page load the panel opens automatically for about 2-3 seconds just to let users know that its here. But when the panel finished showing the button to open it again doesn't work.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhat I'm looking to do is be able to load a number of pages in advance for a daily blog, and then have index.html automatically pick the right page based on today's date. I guess I'll name the files something like '20090708.html', '20090709.html' etc.As well as selecting the right page to display (happy to use frames for that if there's no other way), I want to include "previous post" and "next post" buttons at the top of each page. Happy to hardcode what they point to, but I'd like a function whereby the "next post" button is not displayed if the user is on "today's" page.

The many panel disappears when the mouse moves out. I think it's quite neat and I'm hoping to be able to do something like that with jQuery.

I am building a web page that has tab panels that hide and show information depending on which one is selected. I am trying to make the tabs at the top of the page and go horizontal.I have had some success, however I am having two problems. The first problem is that one of the tabs doesn't work. (specifically tab 4 "videos").The other is that when you first start up the page, there are three tabs highlighted (1, 4 and 5), however there should only be 1 tab highlighted (tab1).I have included my code below.

The problem is that when you click on the styled comboboxes in IE, the page "jumps" down, and sometimes this pushes the combobox off screen. I know this plugin relies on the dimensions plugin, and both the jquery and dimensions plugins are the most recent version. I think this problem has something to do with the celculation of the size of the view port (as the amount this jumps seems to be related to the size of the viewport,with smaller viewports causing this to jump further).

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a site that is very jQuery and image heavy. The main sections of the site link to sections that are built with several Tabs, and as it loads, you briefly see all the content load and then it is hidden by the Tabs code.
The plan is to have a full window DIV that sits above all the content with a loading icon that plays until the entire page loads, and then it fades down.
After some hair pulling and research I have code in place that does exactly as I ask, however it does not seem to work in IE6+7. It works in all other browsers.

I have a lot of javascript functions that request information from an iframe hidden on the page. I see other sites do this, but their browser does not do the loading action (like the processing circle in Firefox). When I do it on my site, each browser shows the loading icon, as if a page was loading. Is it possible to not have this?

I have some code that performs differently in Opera than it does in any other browser. So I have a stylesheet specifically for opera. Is there a way to do something like this, where I check the browser, and if it's not opera, then load the default sheet, otherwise load the opera-specific css?

As of this writing, that code seems to break my page, as if it doesn't like loading a sheet based on an if/else clause.
I'm using the jmapping plugin and it's all working great - when you click on a location link in the side bar the map pans to the location. However what I also want to happen when I click the location link is to load more information about the location onto the page.The idea is to load the div from infodivs.aspx which has an id that matches the href of the link that was clicked. I can make the whole page load without issue but I can't get my head around the syntax for identifying the href of the clicked link and then inserting that into the load statement as a div id.I've tried this.href but if that's actually the right approach, I haven't phrased it right so farHere's the code:

On the html form the user enters the time to start, time to end, and frequency of a reminder alert.I pass this to my javascript and then am trying to setup a 1 second loop where it checks against the clock to see if it's time to begin the reminders. I get to the function, but the setTimeout doesn't complete and my page just refreshes.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a website that I'm trying to install a shopping cart on and I'm trying to make it so when a certain color is selected an option pops up as an additional feature people have the option of choosing, but I only want the option visible when certain colors are selected. I think I have the code figured out, but there are 2 colors I want the option visible for and currently the option is only showing up for one of the colors. I tried creating two id's for each color and two jQuery codes that were basically the same but one for #color1 and one for #color2 but that didn't work either.

I have a form which calculates values and gives the user a total depending on their selection in the drop down box. At the moment the value is displayed in a text field and I have got all the javascript to do this.
What I would ideally want is to embed the total in the page, rather than a text field. The total appears to the user like it is normal text in a page, only it will update when the form values are changed.
I presume that I want document.write to do this? Does anyone know how I could do this/ or if there is a page that does this sort of thing where i can 'borrow' the code?

All works great. At the moment I have to press the button to start the timer, but I want the timer to start automatically on page load (and keep the stop/start button to work of course, so the button has to show Stop instead of Start on page load).
How can I set up a timer and switch to a next page also using same onclick function?

My project is for a scuba diving shop, and they would like to have a touchscreen in their shop. Users can use this touchscreen to browse through the various courses that the scuba diving shop offers. I have the home screen, and the several different pages for each course.
The Problem: Users will sometimes select a course they're interested in, and then leave the screen after using it. Leaving the page on the course and not on the main page for the next user.
I dreamt up a solution for this, however I'm yet to find out how I can go about implementing this.The Solution:Make a timer that appears after 5 mins of being idle and gives the user one more minute to move the mouse (or any activity) before it redirects back to the main screen.

I am looking for a way to tell a visitor they have a certain time in minutes / seconds left from when they loaded the page to act to get a certain deal.
I can't seem to find a countdown timer that does this, only something that works on the current date/time.
