Hide Elements On Another HTML Page After Clicking Button

Aug 23, 2011

I was just wondering whether there is a way to hide an element on another page after clicking on a button?Basically, I have a login page, and for testing purposes, I want it so when you click a button, it runs some javascript in a file called ajax.util.js, and I have a jQuery file attached to the HTML file as well URL..., and I am using Google App Engine, which im not sure whether thats relevant. I tried using the show and hide functions provided by the jQuery file, but no luck, i want to hide an element which is a link with ID admintools. I have also tried getting the element by ID and changing the display style to none and hidden but still no luck. Im not sure whether its only possible to hide elements in the login.html page.

What I want it to do basically is click on the submit button in the login page, it will then run a javascript function which redirects you to index.html (which i am doing using window.location), and then hides an element in the index.html page (id=admintools).

Hide Popup Element When Clicking Outside The Element?

Mar 30, 2010

I have some existing code that I need to alter so that when the user clicks outside the element, the element disappears. I have looked at other show/hide element code, but I'm not sure how to integrate it with the script below.

There's a date form, with an calendar image icon. When you click on the calendar icon, a div with a calendar opens. Then you can click on the dates, that when clicked will fill out a textfield with the date.

The form code:

Code:
<div class="TSearchBox">
<div class="TSearchBoxDate">
<span class="normal TLabel">Frn: </span> <input name="TLfd" type="text" value="2010-03-30" />
<img src="images/datum.gif" class="TCalendarImage" alt=""

Stop Users From Double Clicking On The Page Or Disable Double Clicking?

Sep 3, 2009

I have a page that submits to a db then re-loads its self with new information. Unfortunately it goes wrong when the user double clicks on a one of many text links that provides the info for the display on reload. How do I stop users from double clicking on the page? Ideally I think I would like to call some sort of js function from body onload as I presume this would then cover the whole of the page, but have no idea if this is possible or how to go about writing it.

Here is the code I'm using:

There are about 70 words in a box with the definition being reveals on the right hand side. Is there a way of making sure there is always only one definition being shown?

Jquery :: How Does The Hide() Method Hide The Tabbed Content?

Jul 27, 2009

I am implementing some tabs using jquery and have run into a problem where a google map on one of the tabs is not displaying. I read that a solution is to "Use the off-left technique for hiding inactive tab panels"i.e
Code:

.ui-tabs .ui-tabs-hide {
position: absolute;
left: -10000px;
}

how the hide method is currently hiding the tab contents. i.e how does the hide() method hide the tabbed content?

JQuery :: Hide() Does Not Hide Span In IE, But Does In FF

Aug 4, 2009

With the code below, I am having an issue that only seems to occur in IE. The issue is that the "payer_pane" span should be hidden unless the "NEW" option is selected in the "relationship_person_id" select list. In IE, the payer_pane appears despite what is selected in the "relationship_person_id" select list. In Firefox and Safari, the span hides and appears as expected.

// this will need tweaking when we add multiple token types, but is
hard coded for now so we're aware of it.

JQuery :: Clicking Select Box ?

Jun 11, 2009

You know when you click on a select box (size=1) and then the options show up? I'm looking to simulate that with jQuery.

What I would like to happen is I have an image I am using as my "down arrow". It would be a custom image laid over the select box. If you click the select, it will drop down the options, but if you click the image, nothing happens. I want those options to drop down.

I got as far as:

But it's not a focus I want, and .click() doesn't work.
