JQuery :: Treating Two Sets Of Radio Button Groups As One?
Feb 15, 2009
I have a situation where within my form I establish two different sets of radio button groups. The real world example field group names are "Mens" and "Womens".
Everything works fine with my form until the user submits the form but then selects their browsers "back" button. When they are returned back to their product page from their cart their previous selection remains active. If the user then selects an option from the second set of radio buttons their submission contains both selections which I do not want.
I can clear all of the radio button states with the following function just after the form is submitted:
But I think it would be much more graceful to inject some logic; e.g. if the clicked buttons group name is "Mens" make sure clear the state of any selected button in the "Womens" group. But I guess for me this is easier said than done.
If it does make more sense would I define the condition in my click function? (here is me hacking away at this logic - I realize my sytax is probably messed up)
I have a form that has multiple radio button groups and i want it to validate so that if any button is selected in one group you cannot make a selection in the other groups.
I have 3 radio buttons and based on which is clicked I want to write html to a div. So far nothing is happening and it seems that the onclick is not being done at all or tried.
This is what I have:
Code:
<script type="text/javascript"> <!-- function getAmt(ss){ if(ss == "fy"){
I trying to make a simple image gallery, where I have several radio button groups to filter the search results. I have tried this code to create an associative array, but the array comes up as blank.
for (i=0; i<document.form1.radiogroup.length; i++) { var myRadio = document.form1.radiogroup[i]; }
but this does not:
for (i in document.form1.radiogroup) { var myRadio = document.form1.radiogroup[i]; }
I'm sure this is down to a simple lack of understanding on my part. I have hunted round all the w3c recommendations for DOM and HTML and the ECMAScript bindings, but I can't find anything that properly explains the programming model for radio groups. Have I missed something?
I am trying to validate my radio groups. I have a page which has about 30 questions. I have created a radio group for each questions. All questions are in a form. I just want to validate the radio buttons/groups to make sure all questions are answered when the submit button is pressed. I dont care which one is selected.
Today I have a page of many groups of radio buttons. As you will see in the code, I have 6 sets of 2-button groups (OK/notOK). I need to loop through the entire page of buttons, find the ones that are checked 'not ok', then create a report that lists the Name properties of all the 'Not OK' checked buttons.
The only common denominator I can see is the value="notOK', but I can't seem to get the loop to look for that property. Here is the code:
I am a PHP programmer and new to Javascript and jQuery and I have tried about 20 examples/tutorials and cannot seem to get even close to what I want.I have a form (PHP/MySQL) with a list of subjects I got from my database, and then create a set of radio buttons from that list. And based on what radio button they select, I need to pass that variable to a div (at least that's what I want to use) and then show a list of videos that match the radio buttons value. I don't care if its a get or post or other.I tried to use GET or POST so I can use that value for my PHP/MySQL lists.I am open to any suggestions/tutorials, etc.
I have been searching for a way to display facebook api friends.getAppUsers in set of 5. I am able to do this if i hard code it but I cant seem to find and comprehend a method to do this dynamically.
What i want to achieve is, if i have 43 friends using the application, the code should allow users to view this result in set of 5.
I have 3 radio buttons with the same name ("myradio"). The value of each is a different URL (eg. value="http:[url]...)I have a link underneath these (<a href="#">Send</a>). I would like the selected radio button's value to be inserted into the href of the link, and if the user selects a different radio button that this changes.
I have a number of scripts that take special characters and convert them to their ascii equivalents and them store them in the database.
However I am running into a problem that I have some of those fields are loaded to an array and inserted into cells dynamically. As an example the array would be:
var my_array = [ ["52","Source Data"], ["19","Body & Soap"] ];
Then I have some javascript that creates the cell and inserts the value into a cell text node like:
var x = my_array[1][1]; // this would be "Body & Soap"
//create the cell myTD=document.createElement("TD");
//create the text node myText=document.createTextNode(x);
// Appends each node following the structure. myTD.appendChild(myText);
l need to apply a hover css on a radio button. Currently the background color only draws a box around the radio button but does not the actual radio color. l dont mind if there is no css even javascript will do
Need a script which selects a second radio button when the first radio button in the pair is clicked with the second button greyed/disable but still displaying the selection.
(Hoping to keep the input 'name' the same too if possible - maybe they can be differentiate by 'id' for the script ?)
Code: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <html> <head>
I am trying to produce a web form to allow wedding guests to RSVP. The form allows them to enter a name and select from a radio button whether they will be attending or not. If they select the "yes" radio button then a further pair of radio buttons are displayed for their meal preference.
They can then click a submit button or they can click another button to add another line for another guest which operates in exactly the same way. I've almost got this working, but it seems that the checkbox change handler is lost for the current guest when a new guest is added and the checkbox value is reset. I've got a feeling I'm doing something stupid but can't for the life of me figure out what.
Code (source file (renamed to .txt) also attached as I'm not sure the pasted code is too clear):
Im trying to configuere a form that a.a radio buttons that allow the user to choose between quarters, nickels, dimes and pennies and show image when click on my radio button.how to get the image to display whenthey click on the radio button?
how I can make each radio button call a different page. For example If i click on radio button 1 and click submit it will take me to [url].... and if I click radio button 2 and click submit .
I have a set of radio buttons each with an onclick event that has a numeric value. When the button is clicked an input box called "Total" is updated with the new value. The problem I'm having is that if a radio button is checked and one clicks on it again then the onclick event is triggered.
Is there any way to prevent the onclick event from triggering if the radio button is already checked?
I have a form with 4 radio buttons, the scenario is, when a user click on a radio button a hidden content will be displayed and the other three radio buttons will be disabled so that at one time a user can only click and view single radio button and the hidden content.Here is my code to show hide the hidden content but i need when the user select one radio button the other radio buttons should disable.
I am attempting to pass a value from child to parent window. My issue is that I can't get the value of my radio button to the parent when there is more than one radio button. I get a result of "undefined".
Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd"> <html lang="en" dir="ltr">[code].....
I have it set up so that there are three frames (frames and the use of javascript are encourage for practice) "bar" on the left with navigational options, "main" in the center where the body of the drill is presented, and "feedback" along the bottom where the feedback will appear.
My issue is that I have everything working except the form! I'm not sure how to make it so that upon clicking the submit button the feedback is presented in the "feedback" frame. This was suggested to me but isn't working, maybe I have a mistake somewhere? Or is there another way I can do this?
<html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> function CheckCheckbox() {
I have 30 groups of checkboxes and want to validate that the user select at least one checkbox from any group meaning if he selected one checkbox from the first group and nothing from the other 29 the form should be valid. I tried different solutions but none worked.
I have a form on a webpage that asks the user 15 questions, and for each question, the user can select one of three answers from a radio group: "Yes", "Unsure" or "No".
The code looks something like this:
HTML Code: <p>The purpose of the program was made clear to me before I started.</p> Yes: <input name="1" type="radio" value="Y" /> Unsure: <input name="1" type="radio" value="U" />
[Code]....
What I would like to do is add a bit of JQuery that will be able to detect when a radio box is clicked, and then do something with both the name and the value of the selected radio box (eg, just display the name and value in an alert box, or something).
I can add unique classes to each radio group if need be.
