I have a working example of jQuery validate working in the link below. The newsletter checkbox is required and working. However, the "colors" checkboxes are all named as an array ( ex: name="color[]" ), and so the problem lies in the validation code, where it uses the name of the element to require elements ( ex: newsletter: "required" ).
Code JavaScript:
<script>
$("#testform").validate({

I don't understand why my code doesn't work?! I just want to check to see if a checkbox has been checked...
<script language="JAVASCRIPT" type="text/djs">
function checkCheckBoxes() {
if (document.f1.Times[].checked == false
{
alert ('You didn't choose any of the checkboxes!');
return false;

I need to validate checkoxes to make sure the user selects no more than 2 of the checkboxes. The problem I'm having is in the naming of the checkboxes. The PHP form processor portion of the page requires the checkboxes to be named "dogs[beagle]". This is causing problems with the javascript validation. This is what I have so far...since I've used just the first part of the checkbox name "dogs" the script is not working..I'm kind of new to javascript...Anyone have any suggestions on how to make this work. Code:

I have a situation where within my form I establish two different sets of radio button groups. The real world example field group names are "Mens" and "Womens".
Everything works fine with my form until the user submits the form but then selects their browsers "back" button. When they are returned back to their product page from their cart their previous selection remains active. If the user then selects an option from the second set of radio buttons their submission contains both selections which I do not want.
I can clear all of the radio button states with the following function just after the form is submitted:
Code JavaScript:
$(".cart input:radio").click(function(){
$(this).parent().submit();
this.checked = false;
});
But I think it would be much more graceful to inject some logic; e.g. if the clicked buttons group name is "Mens" make sure clear the state of any selected button in the "Womens" group. But I guess for me this is easier said than done.
If it does make more sense would I define the condition in my click function? (here is me hacking away at this logic - I realize my sytax is probably messed up)
Code JavaScript:
$(".cart input:radio").click(function(){
if(this.checked[name@Mens]){
$(radio[name@Womens]).checked = false;
[Code]....

for (i=0; i<document.form1.radiogroup.length; i++) {
var myRadio = document.form1.radiogroup[i];
}
but this does not:
for (i in document.form1.radiogroup) {
var myRadio = document.form1.radiogroup[i];
}
I'm sure this is down to a simple lack of understanding on my part. I have
hunted round all the w3c recommendations for DOM and HTML and the ECMAScript
bindings, but I can't find anything that properly explains the programming
model for radio groups. Have I missed something?

I am trying to validate my radio groups. I have a page which has about 30 questions. I have created a radio group for each questions. All questions are in a form. I just want to validate the radio buttons/groups to make sure all questions are answered when the submit button is pressed. I dont care which one is selected.

I have this beautiful script for pocket pc that randomly rotates pictures in the background with fade in/out effect. Now, what I want it to do is to split all the pictures I have in groups so that on every refresh the script randomly chose a GROUP of pictures and THEN rotated only the pictures from this group. I want to do this because if you include say 30 pictures into the script this really hangs the RAM memory, and if there are only 5 pictures to choose from its much more faster. Here's the script from html page:
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"/>
<style>
body {
background-color: white;
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
}

Today I have a page of many groups of radio buttons. As you will see in the code, I have 6 sets of 2-button groups (OK/notOK). I need to loop through the entire page of buttons, find the ones that are checked 'not ok', then create a report that lists the Name properties of all the 'Not OK' checked buttons.
The only common denominator I can see is the value="notOK', but I can't seem to get the loop to look for that property. Here is the code:

I'm using the validation plugin [url]
I must be missing something, is there not an easy way to validate inline?
For example, I have a required text input that is given focus on page load, I would like for it to throw an error if the user moves to the next field w/o entering any data.
Right now, it only checks for errors on 'submit'.

I have a form (form1) to register with the fields: user, email, password being validated normally.
Have a second form (Form2) to the user update the data registered in form1, and the fields user, email, password is already populated with data from the database, the email field I use the remote validation, and as the field already has been completed and read always says that this email already exists, how do I create a rule or method so that when the field is already filled it not do so validating and validate if it is filled with a new email. Email2 have a hidden field in order to do a test type.

I'm working under certain constraints wherein,at a certain point outside my direct control,validate is called with no arguments, but after that I want to set a custom validation function on a form field. I figure there's got to be a way to manipulate validate's internal data structure to add the function, but I don't have a clue as to how.

I have a section of a form containing elements that are not visible, currently just in a hidden div. Some of these elements have validation on them so when the form is submitted it fails on this validation.What I am after is a way to stop the validation firing for any hidden elements. I have tried setting them to 'display: none' and 'visibility: hidden' but this does not have any affect.

The DOM Level 3 specification has a section (1.2.2.2) that talks briefly about "groups" of event listeners. What does this mean? Is this similar to attaching event listeners with a namespace, as in jQuery: "event.my_namespace"?
