Image Gallery With Navigational Buttons Including "first", "next", "previous", And "last"; And Making A Drop-down Archive Menu?
Sep 22, 2009
I am having trouble with a simple image gallery with navigational buttons including "first", "next", "previous", and "last"; and making a drop-down archive menu.
1. For the most part, the image gallery works. The problem is that when a user clicks on "next", and then "prev", the last image is not displayed. On the other hand, if a user clicks "prev", and then "next" the last image is displayed(works normally).
2. The way I am displaying the last image, the function last(), is not efficient. It simply refreshes the page in order to display the last image.
Basic overview: The images follow a simple standard: page1, page2, page3,...page64; they are in a subfolder "img". The function changeImage() changes the image from the prev, to the next. The image gallery displays the last image in the gallery; when a user clicks on 'prev' it goes to the previous image, and go to the next image when clicked on 'next'. If the current image is the last image, and the user clicks on 'next', it goes to the very first image. Here is the code (in the
My guess is the code is not working properly due to the initial values of the counter.Last, is there a way to display the current image "myimage.src" using a dropdown menu with each option value as each image?I have done this with window. location, but this only redirects to the image location.
I want to have a big image and say 5 small thumbnails underneath. When the user clicks a thumbnail, the image loads where the previous big image was. Is there a standard way to do this?
The images stop at image 3; if I press next it doesn't loop. How can I make it continuously go round and round when I press next/previous? I'm new to JavaScript and I found this script online ( might be old ) and I just need to use it for a simple gallery where images switch as I press the navigation. My problem is that when I preview the design in my browser ( Safari & Firefox ) is doesn't work. Nothing happens, they are marked as links, but I just can't click them.

var photos=new Array() var photoslink=new Array() var which=0 //define images. You can have as many as you want: photos[0]="SW4_1.jpg" photos[1]="SW4_2.jpg" photos[2]="SW4_3.jpg" //Specify whether images should be linked or not (1=linked) var linkornot=0 .....
how to make the following two simple image galleries:This one displays a specific image when its link is clicked ((URL address blocked: See forum rules)/tests/gallerysimp.html) And this one displays the previous/next image for whatever's showing ((URL address blocked: See forum rules)/tests/prevnext.html). (During its code, it points to this .js file ((URL address blocked: See forum rules) /tests/ nextPrevious.js).)
My question is, how do I combine those two galleries? How can I make one gallery that contains both kinds of links? Since the two galleries were copied from different places, the names they use aren't the same, and I'm not sure what to change to make it all unified. (I tried fiddling with it for over an hour before giving up.)
A page with drag/droppable images. When an image is dragged to a "cart" (a div), the script gets the value of that image (say $30) and saves it to that particular uses "cart".When they refresh, the image remains in the cart. Images need to be able to be removed. Also, the values are added together in the "cart" to give a total. When if this total exceeds a predefined limit within the script, no more images can be added and the gallery items "grey" out (maybe).Or at least pointing me in the correct direction? But the tutorial doesn't include a php file or the ability to save items to database per user.
I am creating a gallery and am having trouble getting the previous and next buttons to work properly with the current image. I was trying to create a solution that would change the current image variable so that the previous and next buttons would correlate.
What I am working on can be found here [URL].. As you can see the next and previous buttons are not working.
Here is my JavaScript: <script type="text/javascript"> /* following not currently used by this script function show(what) { var find = "Img" + what.id.substring(4);
If I select one of the menu items the submenu appears just fine, my only problem is that If I point the mouse curser away from the whole menu the submenu is still shown, obviously if I click once with the mouse outside the menu the submenu disappears. So I need some kind of remove-submenu function when the mouse pointer is not pointing on menusubmenu....
I have been using the JQuery Cycle plugin on my website and love it! It has so many options and seems customizable to do basically anything. My question is about the previous and next buttons. At the moment I am using next:'#next2, .pics img', prev:'#prev2', to make previous and next arrows underneath the image as well as use the image itself a "next" button. I would like to remove the arrows underneath the image and just use left and right halves of the image as a previous and next button. Previous being the left half and next being the right half of course. I've been searching for this being posted before and have not found any discussions on it. Also, the JQuery Slideviewer does what I'm trying to accomplish: JQuery Slideviewer Demo
Is there a way to incorporate this type of button in JQuery Cycle? It seems easy enough to make the image a next button I feel like dividing it between the two shouldn't be that much more difficult.
i'm trying to use this script to build an image gallery with prev. and next buttons.
[Code]....
is there any way i could use that script or something similar? , using nice galleries built with jquery, etc is not an option because my images are very large.
Is there anyway to make a vertical super fish menu drop left? I have positioned the menu on the right side of the page so, I need sub-menus to drop left. Is this possible?
I'm having a little trouble with 2 differentJS scripts. I have a drop down slide menu and a parralex slide gallery. Both work on separate pages and puton the same page they still work however the submenu of the slide down menu does not. if I remove the style sheet that belongs to the gallery
Then the munu works, however (obviously) the page layout goes wrong. if i remove<h1 class="title">Alex Holland Perspective</h1> the menu works however page layout goes wrong andI loose my header
This is hopefully my last jquery question. I have a slight issue with my buttons and dropdown menu. What happens is lets say user chooses option type "ABCDE" in first dropdown menu and then second dropdown menu chooses the value "4" for the number of answers and then clicks on the buttons "A","B","C" and "E", well if the user then decides to change the option type to "ABC", the buttons "A", "B" and "C" are still selected from the last time they have been selected.
What I want is that if the Option Type (OptionDropId) changes, then buttons selected is refreshed so no buttons are selected from the last time they have been selected.
This did used to work but when I included my change() event handler in my code which I need, the buttons do not refresh whenever a new dropdown option (OptionDropId) is selected. So I think the edit of the code may need to happen in the code below:
Code: $(document).ready(function () { var OptDrop = new Array(); OptDrop.abc = ["",1,2];
[Code]...
My code is in JSfiddle, (the second dropdown menu and buttons may not appear in JSFiddle but the code does work properly, I feel it is better displaying code in JSfiddle then in my questions as it will take up a lot of space. If you want to see working version then post code in your web document and it should work).
Sitting with this script for a dropdown menu. I have three languages in a drop down menu and three radio buttons. Swedish, English, German I want each radio button to be selected with the same language I select in the dropdown menu. I have tried all different variations I can think of but have not succeeded. I have only managed to get two languages to function.
I'm building a drop down menu like [URL] or [URL] or [URL] the effect I'm trying to achieve is to have the top menu item showing a background image via css and create a stylized design with the sub-menu. Using CSS when I hover over the sub menu the background image of the top item disappears. So I'd like some guidance with javascript on how to keep the back-image while hovering on the sub menu.
I am trying to a setup a jquery based navigation for my photo gallery i.e something like facebook using hash url technique. I am using php and mysql in the backend. Is there any example I could look at for implementing it. The reason for using hash urls is that I would like to have an unique url for every pic.
I'm looking to take some images, and then once a mouse over a drop down menu appears, and it also changes the image of the button. Anyone know of a way to do this?
I'm looking to make a list of products with 5 products per page. Therefore if there are, for example, 23 products, I want a page selector on the page that looks a bit like this:
Previous 1 2 3 4 5 Next
I will place this in as an include.
I don't seem to be able to make the previous and next buttons work though. I've tried to make it work using the following code... I'm probably doing something stupidly wrong.
i have pages titled "england_1.htm", "england_2.htm" etc... Code:
I have a problem with a drop down menu showing behind image slider (not flash), as the menu shows up behind the large image slider [URL]It only happens in FireFox.....
I have a drop down jquery menu with links and a image slide show with links. When I mouse over on the drop down menu, the drop down menu links go behind the image slide show [URL]
i got a video page, which has images in it, each image is a link to a different video, i want to make it so when 2 lines of images reached, there'll be a button named Next (or anything, doesn't matter) to lead to the Next page of images, note that i want only the part iwth the images to change while using those buttons, not the whole page, the images are built in this way :
I needed a sidebar menu that, when a user clicks the <h3>, a submenu expands. When the user then clicks on a different menu item, the previous submenu disappears meaning only one submenu can be visible at one time.
Now the code I have at the moment (from jQuery forums) works. It now needs a bit more refining so that it works the way I intend.
When you first load the page, all of the submenus are collapsed which is a real pain as each submenu has 20 - 30 selections.
Is there a way to have them all hidden initially?
Is there a way to get an open submenu to close by clicking on the H3 title again?
Since the site is local only, I posted up a sample on my JSfiddle account.

This one, which I also found on google, did what I wanted, but without the smooth slide animation. - [url]
When you then click on one of the H3's, it kicks into action and works great!
I want an icon in my template that, when you click on that certain icon (image), a drop down menu appears. You know when you click the file option in your browser's toolbar, and a drop down menu appears? It can be just like that, but instead of save as and open, links will be there to places within our intranet opened in a new window. This has to work for IEX 7+ because that's all our company decides to use. I tried to submit a chang erequest for them to move to a better CSS/Javascript supportive browser such as Opera, Firefox, Google Chrome... but they're way too fixed on IEX for some odd reason.*edit* colors dont matter. It can be the default colors used in a basic drop down menu. I figure javascript would have more options though.
