I have a problem with a drop down menu showing behind image slider (not flash), as the menu shows up behind the large image slider [URL]It only happens in FireFox.....
View 5 Repliesi'm having with a superfish menu i have tried to add to my wordpress site.The menu seems to work fine for the base-level (top parent pages) menu items.But the drop down menus seem to flash on screen for just a second and then disappear when the mouse hovers over the menu items.To see an example, please check out the top menu on this temporary development page: http:[url].....I have tried adjusting the z-index in superfish.css file but it doesn't seem to be having any effect.

I'm trying to show a different drop down menu based on the users options in the first menu. I want it to basically go like this:
if you choose the first option then show this menu
if you choose the second option then show this menu
etc etc
In internet explorer I have no problems. I literally just taught myself flash so I am hoping there is an easy fix that I am not finding. I did not design or create the template for the original site, I am just upgrading and adding features to improve what was already there.

Friend of mine told me it was using actionscript but I have no idea how to create a drop down box (not menu). The image slider appears right below the menu but when the actual menu drops down, the drop down part of the menu goes behind the image slider. Problem is that I would like to have flash shows along with the images. Everything else work just fine, except the fading effect.
I belive that this line does the fading: "if(self.options.fade == true){item_out.start({'opacity':[0],'left' : [(curX)]});}". (you can find line from the source of demo page).
Is this even possible to do?

You know when you click the file option in your browser's toolbar, and a drop down menu appears? It can be just like that, but instead of save as and open, links will be there to places within our intranet opened in a new window. This has to work for IEX 7+ because that's all our company decides to use. I tried to submit a chang erequest for them to move to a better CSS/Javascript supportive browser such as Opera, Firefox, Google Chrome... but they're way too fixed on IEX for some odd reason.*edit* colors dont matter. It can be the default colors used in a basic drop down menu. I figure javascript would have more options though.

I can tell by the sound in one of the swf's that they do get loaded, but they are just not visible. Is this solved by another way of embedding? I'm using swf object.

Is there a way to ensure that only the first image in my image slider shows while the page is loading? Currently all of the images appear stacked on the page until the page has finished loading.

I'm using superfish menu jquery plugin, and I'm wondering if someone know how to update plugin that you can decide if sub - sub menus wil be shown on the right (that is in the original) or on the left side of the parent menu.
The problem is, that if the last menu is near the end of the browser, than the sub - sub menu will go off side the browser.
I currently have a Drop-Down menu, which has headers you click on to show the links. This menu only allows one drop to be expanded at a time, and can be viewed here [url].
I would like the headers to be able to have 'sub-headers' inside, which also drop-down,to reveal the links. I want them to have a different header colour, and to have the same rule where only one can be open at a time. while keeping the rule with the main headers.
The purpose of the code is to slideToggle open one of two hidden sub-nav bars when either of two different menu items are clicked upon - instead of a drop down menu. What doesn't work is the hiding of the div that is not required, if it is already open. Viewing in firebug shows that the appropriate classes are being applied - I suspect the reason is that slideToggle has been somehow set and cannot be unset via another object - but perhaps that is not it at all?
