Drop Down Menu Behind Flash Banner In Chrome And Firefox
Sep 27, 2011
In internet explorer I have no problems. I literally just taught myself flash so I am hoping there is an easy fix that I am not finding. I did not design or create the template for the original site, I am just upgrading and adding features to improve what was already there.
i'm having with a superfish menu i have tried to add to my wordpress site.The menu seems to work fine for the base-level (top parent pages) menu items.But the drop down menus seem to flash on screen for just a second and then disappear when the mouse hovers over the menu items.To see an example, please check out the top menu on this temporary development page: http:[url].....I have tried adjusting the z-index in superfish.css file but it doesn't seem to be having any effect.
I have used the swfobject.js file & its methods to play a flash movie in my webpage. It works fine when I open the page in firefox & chrome but does not work in IE-6. Below is the code i used:
i am using brother cake drop down menu script for my college website, however below the drop down menu is a flash, the problem is the drop down menu cannot shown over the flash area, it appears as being cut, any body can help me?
I have a problem with a drop down menu showing behind image slider (not flash), as the menu shows up behind the large image slider [URL]It only happens in FireFox.....
I've been using the very cool Transmenu javascript drop down menu that I heard about on this forum. Below the menu is a flash movie that I set to 'transparent' so that the menu will display on top of the movie. This works GREAT on internet explorer, however I've recently become a big fan of firefox and the menu still seems to fall behind the flash movie in that browser.
Has anyone had experience with this issue? I could really use a solution here to get the menu to display on top of the flash.
I have a triple drop down menu and when I select an option for first drop down, based on that I get the values populated in the second drop down but these values in the second drop down do not clear even though I change the change the option of my first drop down. I am facing this problem with Chrome. In Firefox it works fine.Could some one tell me how to clear the previous selection contents. I have pasted my code in the pastebin[URL]...
I'm was working on show and hide drop down menu and this works fine on IE, Google Chrome, Safari but not firefox.
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head><title></title>
I wish to include a Flash banner in my web page that is a link to another web site. The other web site has provided the code for the Flash banner link as:
When I include the code inbetween <head></head> or between <body></body> nothing happens. I wonder why the banner is not showing? Do I have to alter the code or include something in my HTML code?
i am trying to create a very simple drop menu using jquery, bt when i am attaching the event to li's which have further ul inside it, it showing very strange behavior in firefox and in IE, it not showing propely the sub menu, zindex problem.
Basically I created a script which changes image banner on site depending on which day it is, and what period of time it is.
Script goes like this:
HTML part
<img id="banner" /> Javascript code var nowHr=new Date().getHours(); var nowMin = new Date().getMinutes();
[code]...
Now, WHAT I NEED NOW is instead o using images (1.jpg, 2.jpg...) I want to use Flash (1.swf, 2.swf...).So is it possible to modify this script and make it work with Flash?
I have a flash banner width that is over 900. However, I have a small screen/screen resolution and I have to scroll over to view the rest of the content. How can I incorporate the flash banner with the javascript to adjust the size accordingly?
I have a banner on a site that auto shrinks after 5 seconds. The problem is, in Firefox (and Safari on the iPad) it shrinks too slow (compared to other browsers) and shrinks irregular (for lack of a better word). What I mean by the last part is it starts shrinking, then stops for half a second, then continues.
If you peruse my site here, you'll find that in IE8 (and maybe higher), the rotating banner at the top flashes the little thumbnails and the background a bit when visiting a new page. It doesn't do this in FF or Chrome Is there anything that can be done to fix this? I reviewed the documentation for the script and tried tinkering as much as I could, but can't get rid of the flashing.
I can't get jQuery working at all with IE7. I'm using the jQuery Cycle plugin, but I believe this problem is with jQuery (and the fact that I'm am a newbie). I'm trying to use an banner rotator, which works on Firefox, Safari and IE8. On IE7, it is not even activating... it just shows each div one after another.
I am trying to figure out whether or not there is an effective way to cut up the navigation on the right side of this banner so I can use the standard image swap. I am asking in this forum because I need to know if this will even work in the first place.
I currently have a Drop-Down menu, which has headers you click on to show the links. This menu only allows one drop to be expanded at a time, and can be viewed here [url].
I would like the headers to be able to have 'sub-headers' inside, which also drop-down,to reveal the links. I want them to have a different header colour, and to have the same rule where only one can be open at a time. while keeping the rule with the main headers.
The purpose of the code is to slideToggle open one of two hidden sub-nav bars when either of two different menu items are clicked upon - instead of a drop down menu. What doesn't work is the hiding of the div that is not required, if it is already open. Viewing in firebug shows that the appropriate classes are being applied - I suspect the reason is that slideToggle has been somehow set and cannot be unset via another object - but perhaps that is not it at all?
$(document).ready(function() { //add .toggle function to appropriate li element $('#hozmenu li:nth-child(4)').toggle(function () { //set 4th menu links colour to be green whilst div is shown $('#hozmenu li:nth-child(4) a').css('color', '#95d890'); $('#toggle_nav_services').removeClass('toggle_show'); [Code]....
I actually want to make a horizontal drop down menu with a sub menu.As far as I have researched, I think that it can be done by JavaScript. I have searched for some java scripts but they are very long and complex.
That made me wonder that for a funcitonality like a Drop down is so complex?
So here is my question : Is there any JavaScript that can be applied for drop down menu exclusively? Which just presents logic of drop down solely?
I'm building a drop down menu like [URL] or [URL] or [URL] the effect I'm trying to achieve is to have the top menu item showing a background image via css and create a stylized design with the sub-menu. Using CSS when I hover over the sub menu the background image of the top item disappears. So I'd like some guidance with javascript on how to keep the back-image while hovering on the sub menu.
Ok so I'm using FxMenu 4.1.1 on my website at the moment. I figured that I wanted to keep the menu static so it wouldnt ahve to reload everytime someone clicked on page. I made a 3-framed framset with a header,center, and a footer. The center consists of the menu and an iframe. The pages that load from clicked on the menu items load in the iframe. Here's my problem: if I load a flash movie or whatever in the iframe it overlaps the menu. Code:
, I'd like to think this is fairly simple but unfortunately my knowldege of jquery is limited to using prebuilt scripts and changing a few variables to get what i need. I created a drop down menu with a slide down/up animation for submenus, which worked out just as I wanted. I ran into troubles though when trying to add a nested menu to the drop down, but with a slide animation going from left to right. I'm sure my explanation isn't very clear, so please take a look [URL] The nested submenu I am speaking of should only open when hovering occurs on the 'Item 01' link, but as you can see it also opens when hovering over the buyers link. Secondly, my attempt to slide from left to right on this ul is not working, it seems to be sliding down even though this was not defined in the code.
This JavaScript is not working in Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome, can anyone please help me with this.. Thank you very much.. Please post your revised JavaScript if I am wrong..
<style type="text/css"> a {text-decoration: none;}
I am using the following code to hide one <div> and make another visible. It fires just fine in IE and Chrome. Also, the same page has other javascript links which do fire in Firefox as well.
[Code]...
ship_details and ship_update are the names of the DIV. Spelling is correct (and even MS Visual Studio suggests those names and I select from the drop down.)
