I have been trying to get the html returned by a php script to display under a simple form.It only displays the first line. It's my fist stab at this so please forgive my ignorance.Here's the relevant code snippet:
$.ajax({
url: "form_submit.php",
type: "GET",

When I want to handle html/css code in js/jquery it seems that line breaks aren't allowed. This of course makes the code less readable. Is there a workaround to this or is it simply to accept?This doesn't work:
$("head").append("<style type='text/css'>
#table {table-layout: fixed;width:650px;text-align: left;border-collapse: collapse;}
</style>");
This works:
$("head").append("<style type='text/css'>#table {table-layout: fixed;width:650px;text-align: left;border-collapse: collapse;}</style>");
I'm trying to select a line a text and format it, only problem is there are no tags around it other than a closing </p> tag and a <br /> tag after it. Please see below the line in bold text which I'm trying to surround with <h3></h3> tags. [code]...

Is this possible with javascript?
how to read a text file using javascript line by line and separate from special characters in it. for example
Text.txt has
001203=Line one=abc.html
024353=Line two=xyz.html
092434=Line three=hjf.html
i want each column in an array like { 001203,024353,092434 } so total 3 arrays.
getting first line coordinates of multiple line inline element.
Example HTML
aaa bbb ccc ddd <span id="target">eee fff ggg
hhh iii jjj</span>kkk lll mmm nnn ooo ppp qqq
$(document).ready(function() {
[Code]....
Assume that span#target has a line break, when I see a browser. Then I click span#target, above function returns the head of coordinates which second line ("hhh") has. I want to have the coordinates which first line ("eee") has. How can I get that?
How would i draw a line on a page dynamically, like if i were clicking points on a map and i wanted to link them together. How could i do that?
i found this [URL], but maybe you know of something better that would not require coordinates

I tried to load 1 html through ajax and javascript and it worked.But i want to load more than one and i cant.I thought that it would be a good idea to put the ajax files to the external websites and put the same load button.I tried this idea but it doesn work.I can only load one external website.

You have a table on an html form. As the user changes one or more fields in a table row and moves to the next line, the changed row should AUTOMATICALLY be sent back to the server and updated in the database.
If the user moves BACK to a line that's already been changed, and changed a field, a popup should display and ask "if the user really wants to change the field". If so, again, it should AUTOMATICALLY be sent to the server and updated in the database...
Ignoring the horridness of making that many round trips to the server and banging the database for every line, is there a way to AUTOMATICALLY do the equivalent of a submit and post the changed table row back to the php script?
I have this normal HTML page, starts with <!DOCTYPE ...... and end with </html>, nothing special, what I need is to get every character from the beginning to the end.I've tried $("html").html(), but this cannot get the <!DOCTYPE line and also the <html> line, but only the codes inside the <html> tag, how can I get all ?
View 1 Replies View Relatedexporting field value from one html to another html page. I have created such a script, but it opens the second html page in a new window every time. I have an external page with some rudimentary html in the source code missing many tags.. a bit like the below. On a page hosted elsewhere I need to take the html from this external page and add and remove certain parts of it and add some styling such as line breaks before ^FIELD01. I've looked at jquery and AJAX but cant find anything to suit my needs. I think what I am struggling with most is having this page in a variable to then be able to edit it.
Code:
^BEGIN SEARCH FORM
<form name="dancesearch" action="JJList.html?PHPSESSID=604918b69ab9936e638b5d48cdc142a3&xt=673">
^FIELD01: Dance Name<input name="ts" type="text" size="20" maxlength="25" />

I'm doing 1 web-system, where login page in .jsp but other functional page in .html where I use javascript to do function. So if user knows any other html page's url then they can browse directly any of those page. But I've to prevent them & send to login page if they try to browse with out login. Very sad I can't do it
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am working on a page that will load in other pages using AJAX and the .html method. Something like this :
<span id = "edit">Edit</span>
<div id = "cont">
</div>
//the click edit script
[Code]....
Unfortunately this does not seem to work, entirely. It does trigger the click event but it messes up the post for some reason. I have played around with it for the last 45 minutes or so and it seems like the click event trigger is what is messing things up, if I comment it out it works fine. Could anyone tell me why they think this is? note this is an over simplified version of my actual code, but the structure is the same.
On my webpage, I dynamically create an iFrame when a button is pressed, then load a html page from within my own domain into the iframe, based on what html page is loaded into a variable. My question is, can I dynamically change the font family of the loaded html page from the javascript of the main page? My code to create the iframe is:
function setSubTxt(){
var par = document.getElementById('parentDiv');
par.innerHTML = '<iframe src="'+subTxt+'" style="width: 375px; position: fixed; height: 365px; left: 400px; top: 145px; border=none;" name="subIframe" frameBorder=0></iframe>';
frames['subIframe'].window.location=subTxt;
document.subIframe.document.body.style.fontFamily = "Arial";
[Code]....
the variable "subTxt" has the url of the html page to be loaded (always on the same domain). The code: document.subIframe.document.body.style.fontFamily = "Arial"; was my attempt to dynamically change the font, but it didn't work. Also, it should be noted that there is no font family set in the html pages which would override this.
I have an html page that uses javascript to open a new window and
display a file that gets created when a button is pressed.
My problem is when the file is changed and the display button is
pressed, the old file is still displaying. I have tried using
<META HTTP-EQUIV=expires CONTENT=0><META HTTP-EQUIV=PRAGMA CONTENT=NO-CACHE>, but doesn't work 100% of the time.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to print a html page which has contents wrapped in several div tags. I need to insert page break after each div tag and the page numbers need to start from one, after each page break. I could insert page break using the following java script code.
var allDivs = document.all.tags("div");
for (i=0; i<allDivs.length; i++) {
allDivs(i).style.pageBreakAfter = "always";
}
But the page number is continuous. How can I change the page number for each pagebreak?
