Html Characters Printing With Refresh It()?
Mar 24, 2010
i'm using refreshhit for some random quotes pages in different DIVS, and love it;
problem is, if i add html to the text in the pages:
$string = "<a href="page">text</a>";
echo $string;
that's exactly what i'm getting, "<a href="page">text</a>", instead of parsed html - what to do to parse them...?

I want to print the unescaped characters in this sequence:
unescape('%66%75%6E%63%74%69%6F%6E%20%')
so I tried to do this on a page, but it did not display anything. What have I missed out ?
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">
<html>
<head>
<title>Untitled</title>
</head>
<body>
<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
print unescape('%66%75%6E%63%74%69%6F%6E%20%')
// -->
</script>
</body>
</html>

I have a form in which a user can create from 1 table to 10 tables which will dynamically create 2 HTML radio buttons, 12 checkboxes and 1 select drop down and 7 input textbox per table in JavaScript.
I need help with printing the whole form with currently filled values.I tried window.print() but it only prints which is visible on the screen. It doesn’t print the bottom section which you have to scroll down to view.
I also tried the following code as well but it prints radio buttons, checkboxes and select drop down with default value, not with the values currently selected or checked.
function CallPrint()
{
var answer = confirm("Do You Want to Print The Case?")
if (answer)

I have a few html fields in a form that use PHP in order to calculate a combined value and then inserting it into the database. However, I would want that value to be displayed to the user as well before they insert it, just so they can verify that the value is correct. But how do I go about and do this?
It is probably very simple, but I'm a PHP programmer and have very little knowledge of JavaScript. Basically this is what I would want:
<field 1> -20 +(or -, depending on user input) <field 2>
Result of that to be displayed in <field 3>
However, I only want the -20 to calculated when something is entered in <field 1> so that it does not say -20 in the output field before the user even started typing a value.

I want to print a html page which has contents wrapped in several div tags. I need to insert page break after each div tag and the page numbers need to start from one, after each page break. I could insert page break using the following java script code.
var allDivs = document.all.tags("div");
for (i=0; i<allDivs.length; i++) {
allDivs(i).style.pageBreakAfter = "always";
}
But the page number is continuous. How can I change the page number for each pagebreak?

Code:
<div onclick="alert('<');" > click 1 </div>
<div onclick="alert('<');" > click 2 </div>
edited: the first alert has this in the brackets: &l t; i.e. the html code for < but for some reason this foum converts it. and i thought html was off?
I was expecting the above to alert the text in the brackets exactly as written in the code for both divs. However both events alert '<'. Why is that? I want to be able to pass '<' as an agrument to events without being converted, because that is what is happening. How may I prevent it?

I have a simple chat on a web page, but It wont refresh itself unless the user refreshes the whole page and I cannot force the page to totally refresh itself cause that would mess up the other things the user can do on the site. So I would need to make the DIV to "load itself again in for example 3sec". I believe this is quite common thing to construct, how to construct this?

I'm working on a project which requires a small portion from a large table of information to be displayed on a webpage (sort of like a magnifying glass). The display will be a table of fixed size (m by n cells). Some of the cells will be merged. When the table updates, different sets of cells may be merged.
It needs to be coded in HTML5, which I assume includes the use of JavaScript and CSS (The specs of this is rather unclear at the moment, so I'm going to cover all bases).
Anyhow, looking through the HTML5 and JavaScript tutorials, I found two ways to solve this problem. One way would be to have a script to parse out the relevant information, and have it output into a table (dynamically generating the HTML required).
The second way would be to have the script draw the table on its own in a canvas.
User events (such as arrow keys on the keyboard) will change the position of the focus (move the magnifying glass in a cardinal direction).
I hit a small snag with the first solution - Is it possible to update the table on the page (including changing the structure of it) without having to refresh?

I wanted help for a JavaScript code. You might think I'm lazy for not writing it myself, but the truth is I am not a JavaScript coder. I just have a really simple website and I am trying to do something for which I know JS is required but I don't know how to do it. I've also searched around but couldn't find the appropriate code.
What I want to do is to make an html page load a different background image every time it refreshes.I will have a list of background images and I want to be able to add in this list, without having to change anything else in the codes after I do this (I think this is made by making an array of images and by putting .length somewhere in the codes, but I don't know exactly how I should do this).I already know how to do an external file (.js) and link to it from my .html page.Now I want the code to put in the .js file, and the code to put in the <body> of my .html file.

I have been playing with JavaScript few days now. I have a php script that returns data in XML. I want my Dashboard (html) page to show the response back from my php file. Since this is going to be a Dashboard hence it needs to refresh the content every second hence using JavaScript.
I want to get some guides, tutorials, or how-to for this. Any help would be much appreciated.
Here is what I get from my .php file if I do a POST method to it and define variable "extension=9999" to it code...
How can above be nicely presented in an HTML using JavaScript and how would this query be refreshed and re-POSTED every 1 second?
P.S. Amount of XML data coming back to me is dynamic. So, I don't know how much data I get back. Sometime nothing. Sometime 4 childs. Sometime 10 childs in the XML.

I have this code in a page that appears in my iframe if requested from parent:
<script type="text/javascript">
parent.rrr();
</script>
The parent code is:
function rrr() {
javascript:location.reload(true);
}
So, the person clicks a link from the parent, it does a php process in a hidden iframe, which then tells the parent page to refresh. The only problem is that it puts Firefox in a constant loop of refreshing. IE and Chrome work fine. They refresh once and stop.
Though the src code opens the iframe like so: <iframe src="" style="display:none; height:1px;" name="hdplus" id="hdplus"></iframe> Firefox seems to refresh the page with the memory of the child page being in the iframe, constantly looping the child request to refresh the parent.
Why won't Firefox just accept that no page should load in the iframe, as stated in the code? I need to stop this loop, which means I need to get firefox to reset the iframe as it reloads the page.
