I have dropdown menu.If I select value of "onesector" all the checkbox should be accessible and textbox of individual value '1' and retail value '2' should come. If I select "allsector" all the checkbox should be checked and textbox of individual value '10' and retail value '20' should come.

I am trying to print all the selected checkbox values to a textbox separated by commas (, ). However, the first value in the textbox always starts with a comma (, ) i.e. (, one, two, three) etc. My current script trys to check if the first 2 characters (substring) are ", " (comma then space) then attempts to remove them. However this hasn't worked and I have no idea what to try next.

According to [URL] intended way for jQuery to change dynamically the selected option of a dropdown select control isassigningthe desired text instead of the value. I found this way veryinconvenient (data structures usually deal with value codes, not value descriptions) and it seems to work only sometimes.
Trying different options I came out with this approach that seems to do the job so

The problem I have is that the value="" needs to be the ID number of the recordset but still be able to SUM the dollar value on the TEXT box (totalcost) when someone click on each CHECKBOX. I very new to JavaScript and I need to validate a text field after a checkbox has been clicked. This is part of a larger form validation. I am looking for the simplest and easy solution to this issue. I have seen a couple of other examples that are far too complicated for the my needs. The form is asking a user to identify a referral source. If the referral source is a website, it wants the user to provide a URL. I have a long list consisting of a name and associated number, like this:

I would like to put two dropdown boxes where the user can select either the name or the number. Then based upon the users selection have both the name and number appear. I'm thinking of putting all the data in an array and using the dropdowns to query the array.

This is to show the expected data at this point in time though I may add or remove elements so I want the code to be flexible a= ie iterative so I want to have the dropdown element checked and compare the position of service to get the associated price though they are in two seperate arrays and cannot be changed. Basically I would like to use a if selected value the price at that position is entered into the textbox which is readonly. How would I go about this and I cannot use tools such as jquery to do this. Is there a way to set the select value to the array position on price or something as I have never had to compare two arrays or print a selected value to a textbox.
