Is it possible to download a javascript slideshow which is present on a webpage? In firefox I have addons to download flash swfs but could not find anything concerning javascript. I need this as I need to develop a slideshow in javascript very quickly for a client (our js developer is long gone ) and am not familiar with js at all. So was thinking could get an existing js slideshow and from there just learn how they implemented it, and then do almost same for mine. The js needed to be dev is same as on the website [URL](the main slideshow).
I need to have a submit input button automatically start a download when clicked, but also redirect to an additional "information" page. Since I'm not sure if this can simply be solved with HTML or must use some Javascript.
I am trying to create a way for my users to download some code dynamically from my web page via a file download. Below is the code that i have written so far. It seems to be dying on the iframe but i'm not sure why.

I have an iframe. I load a page within it. The page I load is a php page that I build with a table with the id of 'readmail_table'. My iframe is 'readmail_frame'. Someone clicks on a message title outside of the iframe and I load the contents of the message in the iframe from the database in my table. Sometimes this takes longer than others depending on how large the message is. What I am doing here is letting the contents load then calculating the width and height of the table and then increasing the iframe's size so there are no scrollbars. This works 98% of the time but I ran into an issue where the table does not exist yet in the iframe and the JS code errors out. So what I did then was add a local var, set it to false then had a while loop check for the table and once it finds it, set the var to false and run my code. Again, mixed results. Sometimes this works then others I get that the table id I am looking for is null but my if statement in the while loop is checking to see if != null line 159 is where it is breaking The error I am getting in firebug is

Code: if ( window.frames[ "readmail_frame" ].document ) Like I said, most of the time this works exactly how I need it. I just need a fool proof way to determine that this table is in fact on the page. I am not sure why it works sometimes and not others since I am looping until it is there
I have two questions. I have a html page has two "data-role=page" objects. When I open that page by clicking on a link, the second page is displayed rather than the first. If I add "rel=external" in the link, the first page shows up but the back button is missing. Is there any way to ensure the first page shows up and the back button is visible.
The second, how can I call $("#pageObject").dialog(). I tried this on a link, nothing happens. Can't I use I<a href="#pageObject" data-rel="dialog">Open dialog</a>. This does not seem to work for internal pages. Is there a method to open internal pages as popups?
This is what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to load a flash movie transparently over my existing html page (not covering the full screen, but 75% of it), so it is kind of similar to a "splash screen" in the respect it is to be an introductory screen.
I already have a flash movie made (although for some reason WMODE=TRANSPARENT isn't working), but we'll get to that in a sec. I also already have all the html for the playing the movie and displaying my page. The html to display the page is made up of a bunch of table rows within a <DIV> tag.
During onLoad of the <body> element, I call a javascript method to actually play the flash. The flash does play, but what happens is that instead of playing on top of the existing page, it plays at the top of the page and if you scroll down, there is the rest of the html page (the tables and stuff). I dont want it at the top, but to actually overlay the tables until it finishes playing, then to go away automatically.
I'm struggling with the html part of this. I know browsers render from top to bottom, but I dont know how to display over the existing stuff.
I toyed with the idea of making the flash into a popup in a new window (window.open), but to make it look right, I'd have to make it a transparent window, borderless, etc... and I'm not sure thats the right way to do it either.
The download functionality is not working. If i try the Quick Downloads link it either brings me to a page that displays gibberish (trying to display the .zip) or if it actually allows me to download the .zip it is corrupt.When i try to custom the download and I click download it just redirects me back to the page and nothing happens
I have a prototype that does this server side, but was hoping I could achieve it client side.. if someone were to start from my page, enter a URL into a text box and submit.. I want to be able to append some java script to the next page.. But it would show the next page as normal.. However, when that page finishes loading, I want to trigger my java script which starts a timer, and when they click away from the page, it stops the timer, but makes sure the java script is present on the next page they go to..
Actualy showing the total in a small floating div.. I understand to get the java onto every page, I probably have to download the page in the javascript, then alter the current page to show the new page, with an added function.. Firstly, can it be done... second, where on earth do I start!

I am building my first webpage in HTML, and I needed to use javascript for the slide show, so i used a code for the slide show from codelifter. I like the slide show, but I need to do more then 1 slide show on the same page so I was wondering if I could just do two different slide shows using the same code, just copying and pasting it with different images. But I have a feeling that wont work since the images are loaded in the head. Also my second question is how I make my slide show a link, like where you click on it and it will take you to a separate page I make... is it similar to adding a href codes? I have a page with 4 separate slideshows. I want to use one function for each. I've assigned a unique ID to each slideshow image placeholder and an ONCLICK event to the link. I am trying to get started using JQuery, but I find I can't even get to lesson #1. When I go to jquery.com and click to download the latest version (or any version) it doesn't "download" anything. It opens the file as a webpage in my browser and I see all the JQuery in one big string. Why won't the file just download? Is it the browser I am using? Is it my Mac?

where it says image i am adding an image, that colum is controlled by the header so i added a div in there for the image.
what is happening is that since the image is small and the slideshow is large, when the page loads the single image pops up for a second where the slide show is, then it moves down on the page where it should be. I know this is caused by the fact that the image loads faster than the slideshow so we see the image first in that space.
what i am trying to do is pause the single image load until the slideshow loads, but i dont know how?
I cant move the image down and load it in the body because that left side column is controlled by the header slideshow it has to be part of it when it loads.

So Im trying to create a slideshow with thumbnails the user can scroll through and use to navigate the slideshow. I'm a big fan of cycle so I wanted to use that as my main slideshow component and was planning on using jcarousel for the pager. So far it works great in Firefox, Chrome, and Safari, yet in IE the thumbnails are not loading. I'm guessing it has something to do with how the images in the pager are generated and then jcarousel just isnt proccessing that in IE but I 'm not sure. I feel like I'm very close to getting this slideshow to work, yet I need to figure out why it is failing in IE.
