I can successfully force submission of a <form> using "document.formname.submit()". But, the submission doesn't appear to occur when used with Netscape. Anybody know why this is happening, and what I can do to get around this?

I thought I once saw somewhere that a global variable, "xyz" for example, could be declared and used so that instead of using "document.formname.elementname.value" one could use "xyz.elementname.value" or use "xyz" in place of "document.formname" anytime a reference to a form element was made.
Is this actually true or not? I'm going crazy trying to recall something that might not even exist!
I am developing in firefox 1.0+, but will be working in an msie 6.0+
produciton environment ( not my choice, but when is it ever? ).
the desired output is that when the end-user selects two radio buttons,
one from each 'group', the form / page will open an alert window

I'm not so good at Javascript, but I tried to write some code to obtain some form values and write those to a query string to use in AJAX.It seems to be working partially, but I don't understand what is going wrong. What happens is that in the for loop the 'document .form_name.form_field_names_array[i].value' part doesn't seem to return a value. It is worse even: the script completely stops executing at that part. When I remove that part from the line in the for loop, it doesn't stop executing, so I guess that's where the problem is?

The scenario:I have about 10 groups of radio buttons , each with 4 options.

but what I need to know is how to assign a variable to the radioname, so that I can iterate through each radionameVARIABLEHERE[i].value ?

This full code works fine on my machine. But this code does not work properly when run on the client-side!, although the same server and the same deployed application is being accessed. There is no particular sequence/scenario but for eg.When say button1 clicked->window1 opens->window2 is opened->value selected->returned to window1->Clicked on Find-> clicked on Ok->returned on the main page.Then repeated the same scenario for say 3rd button. (Till now 'Find' link works fine).Now repeated the same scenario for 2nd button and here 'after' message is obtained but 'inside Find' is not printed!

I'm using document.form.submit() with large text fields (approx. 2000 characters) and am getting a "Invalid Syntax" error. If I do the same thing with a text field of under 1500 characters, it works fine.

Everything works perfectly on Firefox 1.5 but not on IE 6+

This is a ? about Ajax, PHP and form processing. When I submit the form further below, nothing happens I didnt set the form-"action" to anything. I left it out, to make the form submit to the same page, so I can validate on the same page too (Which is not made yet, as youll see. The form does work fine when I used in a "normal php script", but when I include it using Ajax, the form doesnt submit after it has been sent to the page.
Anyone knows what is going on, and what I can do to make it work? I guess it must be the action attribute of the form which is wrong, but I dont understand that since i made the form submit to itself, by leaving out the action attribute entirely.

Opacity is affected but not zIndex. I can change zIndex the normal way though:

it was working fine when i viewed it using my local host but when i uploaded it to the server it doesn't want to work anymore. i made sure all the files are in the proper folder and so on..still no progress. Then uploaded the original or "demo folder" i got from this site and it works, but my site doesnt. I combined 2 jquerys btw, one apycom jquery and one booklet jquery.
