Aug 7, 2010I found the below script that works fine for the actual countdown, but when the user refreshes the page, the countdown starts from 5 minutes again.
What I am trying to do, is handle users that put something in their shopping cart and then get side tracked or what ever reason and that same product then being purchased by another person when I only have 1 left.
So using PHP I am going to subtract the qty of that product by 1 and then I want the website to either put it back, if the users checkout times out, or if a normal process it is taken out permanently.
So long story short I think I need some sort of 'memory' for the javascript, so the user can't just keep refreshing and it starting from 5 minutes each time. Also it needs to be carried through to other pages.

Nov 15, 2010I'm really struggling to write a bit of JS that displays the amount of time left to when your order will be shipped.For Example: If it's
1:05pm on Sunday, it would say: "Place your order within the next 1 day 2 hours 55 minutes and your order will ship Monday"
Another example: If it's 2:00pm on Saturday, it would say: "Place your order within the next 2 hours and your order will ship today"
I need to be able to change the cut off point from 4pm if needed...It must also ignore bank holiday (Ideally, it would have a section in the code where I could put all 'excluded' dates, e.g. 12/25/2009, 01/01/2010, etc. - This way I could keep it up to date).The code must take into account that we only deliver Monday to Friday (Therefore on a Friday after 4pm, it would not say delivery tomorrow, but Monday).Once the deadline hits (4pm), the countdown jumps back up to accommodate tomorrow's deadline, etc.Amazon does a very similar thing,

May 27, 2011Im putting together a pair of countdown timers that need to restart every 24 hours. One restarts at noon and the other at midnight. Im using Keith Woods plugin @ [URL]
So far I have been able to implement his serverTime function to sync to the servers clock and instantiated 2 countdown timers. so far so good.
What I need to do now is 2 things:
1. I need to define today + X hours to countdown to instead of setting a exact date like in this example:

noonCountDown = new Date(noonCountDown.getFullYear() + 0, 5 - 1, 28, -12);// 2011, May, 28, 12pm
2. Once today is defined dynamically I believe that may just solve the problem and reset the timer. But I may not be thinking clearly here. So I guess Im just wondering if this is how you would go about making the countdown restart upon completion.

Fill Form On Another Page

I have 2 pages, Page 1 has a simple form with a field called "Number",
and Page 2 has a button. Whenever the button on Page 2 is clicked, the
browser will be redirected to Page 1 and have the field "Number" filled
automatically with a number which is unique to Page 2.
I am new to Javascript and don't know if this is possible. And if it
is, how to go about doing it.

Auto Fill A Form From An Email?
Jan 28, 2010I need to auto fill a form from a email link from a online ticket system. the problem is i have the ticket system in a iframe on my site. so when they click the link it goes on just the ticket system webpage. with out the iframe so i made a page point to it with my site around it. but when the email is click it loads my site and page but dosent fill in the forum. unlike the one with out the iframe. here is a example of the email link. Auto-fill Date Script For PDF Form?
Jun 30, 2010What I am looking to do is auto-populate a number of forms based on what a user chooses as a starting date.
For example:
If a user enters 12/12/2009 I want the other fields to automatically populate with the next 2 weeks (12/13/2009, 12/14/2009, 12/15/2009 etc.)
Anyone have a useful script that I can use given that these fields are formatted as dates?
The idea is to save time by only having to fill in the first date in the timesheet.

The referrers information (cesar017) should be prefilled automatically in a form field on another page than the index page. This means the visitor first can look around on the other pages of the site and then go to the page with the form.
I dont use a database at this moment, I only want a certain field automatically prefilled with the referrers info from the URL for ex : <input type= hidden -or text- name= partner id= partner value= ""/> In this case the field should have the value=cesar017
I understood this can be solved with Javascript or PHP and cookies, but I nearly dont know anything about this and Dreamweaver has not automated this function.

Autofill File Form - Fill Certain Types Of Forms
Jun 22, 2010struggling with figuring out how to fill certain types of forms. Here's a SMALL SNIPPET of a form. Parts of it would be VERY convenient if it could be automatically filled when page is loaded. Autofilling text boxes is easy enough. But I need the file box to be auto-filled with "C:/example.txt" when the page loads.
NOTE: typing value="C:/example.txt" does not work .

First Character Of Form Field.
Jul 20, 2005How do I onBlur prompt the user to enter a ZERO as character one, if one is
not already entered. At the same time, I would like to ensure at least 5t
characters have been entered. This validation should also only trigger if
anything is entered. Basically, if the user chooses to enter nothing then
the check should not be carried out and the user should be able to continue.
So in pseudo style:
If user data IS ENTERED AND DOES NOT contain a ZERO as first character, or
is LESS THAN 5 characters long, prompt for re-entry.

Sep 24, 2010Just wondering if anyone knew how to make it so that if someone types an apostrophe in a form's textbox, a popup box appears. The popup box would preferably appear the second that the apostrophe is entered int he form box and then once the popup box is closed, the apostrophe is deleted.

Passing Server Time - Countdown Timer That Currently Uses The Client's System Time To Calculate The Countdown
Feb 4, 2011I'm using a javascript-based countdown timer that currently uses the client's system time to calculate the countdown. I assume that this line of code is where this is performed:

I'm trying to make the script use server time instead as some people may have wrong dates/times set or live in different time zones etc.
So what I did was use a bit of php:

This gives a result but now the countdown is 30 days off. I am testing on my local xampp server (which also uses system time) so there should be no discrepancy. I also tried adding
