I am working on a Phone Number Form. The link of script: [url]
Questions:
(1)I wanted to know if code this script so that instead of the phone number appearing as: (123)456-7890
So that it appears as: (123) 456-7890 with a blank space after the ")"
(2)If that's simple, is there a way to error-check it so that only numbers can be entered into the phone number input field?
I wanted to create a small DHTML code that created a unordered list of input forms dependent on the number selected from the select dropdown menu. Problem is that it doesn't seem to want to generate the list. I think the variables are within the scope of the function too, and I didn't get an errors from the javascript console when using firebug. The script itself runs, I tested it when I used the old standby alert(); to see if the script was active. Here's the code:

I am having a form with two input fields. I want to enter some text in the first input field and then the second field should get the same text. Is there a simple way (maybe a plugin) to do this with jQuery? It would be perfect if I even could output all these input fields values as normal text in <p> or <li> tags.

So I have to ask some stupid questions and make sure that there is not something wrong in this simple syntax. I am trying to get input field attributes type and tagname by field ID. Heres the code..
Code JavaScript:
var type = $('#' + input_id).attr('type');
var tag = $('#' + input_id).attr('tagName');
When I look in firebug I see there is the correct ID in input_id variable and that the input field with that id exists. But for tag and type variables I just get 'undefined' for reason unknown.. syntax is correct or?
Is it possible to copy the value of a visible input field to a hidden input field?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if anybody can provide me with high level suggestions as to how to do the following in javascript.I want to record the number of times a piece of javascript is run across multiple disparate machines.To do this I was thinking that the javascript should open javascript a webpage every time it is run. I can then count how many times that webpage has been called which in turn will be the number of times the javascipt has run. However I don't want the webpage to open in the users machine as this will be really annoying for the user.if you can think of a better way to complete the overall goal.

I was wondering if anyone could help me with the javascript code that inserts a random number into the banner code. I had an example a month ago that worked, I stopped using it for a while, and now the forum I had gotten it from has deleted that post. I have a JavaScript function for swapping the values of rows in a table. I have a hidden field in each row to carry a record ID. As I switch the rows the function will update the hidden field but doesn't do it correctly if I switch a number of rows. I dynamically set the values to switch when the page loads but how can I change these values when the rows are moved.The idea is to change the order of a recordset by clicking on an up or down arrow and then save the values on the record id and sort order, the two hidden fields in each row.
function swapCells(idA,idB,id1,id2)
{
var cellA=document.getElementById('menu'+idA);

I'm trying to replicate a feature found in hotmail, facebook, etc. When you type or select a recipient from an auto-suggest box for your message/email that recipient's name is put into the "To" field box and is encased (usually a blue rounded corner box) with a X to the far right. If the "X" is clicked the recipient is removed.
How can do you put the selected recipient into the encasing and insert it in the "To" field box? If there are multiple recipients how are they differentiated? For example, if there were a ";" between the recipients the semi-colon would separate the values.

I'm using simpleCart() javascript shopping machine for my page.The script accepts values in a specific syntax:onclick="simpleCart.add('name=Some name','price=23.4','quantity=1');"But because the price of the product is not always the same but comes up after previously made calculations, i want to parse the values in simpleCart() through another function. I have made the following one which gets the price from a textbox (resultAlmires) of a form (Almires), then converts it to american format (. instead of ,) makes it have one decimal only and finally parse it to simpleCart() with the use of a variable.However it doesn't seem to work:
function addAlmiri() {
var timi = document.Almires.resultAlmires.value;
timi = timi.replace(/,/,".");
