I am trying to create a javascript form validation that will make a text field be required only if a previous text field is populated. If the first text field is blank, then the second field can be blank as well.
I'm trying to set up a form that has a text field that is required to be blank - I'm dealing with form spam, and the bots are stuffing every text field with random crap. So, I have a text box that is required to be blank. But I can't get jquery.validate to understand both required and blank.the text input is has a name and id of live_check.I have added this method:
$.validator.addMethod("equalToParam", function(value, element, param) {return value == param;});
I want to add a simple alternative to CAPTCHA on a form by adding a required text input - e.g.Type the word "jquery":How do I add a rule requiring a specific value?
I have an issue with a registration form. What I would like to do is only allow a certain email domain in the 'email' field. Eg. Only allowing @gmail.com email addresses, and all others would receive an error. This is the line of code that I believe needs changing:
function isEmail(valor){if(/^w+([.-]?w+)*@w+([.-]?w+)*(.w{2,4})+$/.test(valor)){return(true)}else{return false;}}
I am not too familiar with this but through my hours of research, I believe that I need to add something to this line.
how to do what i wanted. I've got a .pdf file with a bunch of text fields, i would like it to make it so that when the user has focus (is writing in or clicked it) on of the fields it shows a different field with information on how to fill out that field and which field to procede to. Ive figured out how to show a field when focus is on another field, but cant get it to hide again when focus goes to something else.
I'm inexperienced with Javascript and I found this script, but I'm not sure how to alter it to do what I want. I have a PHP script that creates forms in a loop. $z in this case could equal 3, and 3 forms each containing 1 Position/Office field will be created including 1 Candidate field. If a user wants to add a new candidate for that specific position, I want to be able to add a Candidate text field just relevant to that Office/Position. With this script, I've only been able to pop up a text field under one Office/Position and not under any other Office/Position. I think it has something to do with my divs.
Javascript:
var inival=0; // Initialise starting element number // Call this function to add textbox function addTextBox() {
How to check that a text field is a string not a number with javascript? Therefore,if the field is a number then I want to display a message that contain "You must enter a string". var str = champ.value; if (!(isNaN(str))) { alert("Vous avez saisi un nombre"); I tried the previous code but it does not work.
I have a phone number field on my form that needs validation, but I'm not sure how to code this. I have the following function to validate a first name is entered and last name. The phone number field must match a 7 digit or 10 digit(with area code)phone number. I want to be able to include paranthese and/or hyphens for the valid phone number.
function checkForm1() { if (document.forms[0].firstname.value.length == 0) { alert("You must put in a first name");
I have an input type=text with value={date}. User scrolls his mouse wheel on it. I need to see what is character number in the text field (in Firefox it's evt.rangeOffset). How to get that in Chrome?
Below is the code. <script> attach = function(){ dateField= document.getElementById('a'); dateField.onmousewheel=handleEvent; } handleEvent = function(evt){ //??????????????????????? //how to get character number on text field? } </script> <body onload="attach()"> <input type=text value="01-10-2010" name=a id=a > </body>
I am using javascript to verify a text input box but I would also like to require atleast 3 characters being entered before allowing the user to search.
I have a text field (field1) already displayed on the HTML page. However, there's a link where you can add additional text fields to the page as well. When the link is clicked, the second text field is added successfully (field2), and when the link is clicked again, the third text field (field3) is added successfully. However, the third field does not add itself to the page, and the text for anything greater than a third field also isn't displayed after. This obviously means that my "fields" variable is not working right
I want to know how to count to a number via jQuery. jQuery should get a value in a variable and then start counting to it in a fix time. for example the number is 500.67 then i should start with 1 and the add up until it reaches 500.67 in 5 seconds, so the final value is not visible at the begining but at the end. the numbers can b between 1 and about 1 million but it should always need 5 seconds to count to it (must not be always +1 but i should count smooth).
What I'm looking to do with the following form is when a user inputs a certain length width and depth the output will be set to a certain number of characters. Basically looking to add a zero before an input of a number lower than 10 in two fields (product_number & product_id)
For example if a user inputs:
The output I would like to have would be:
Right now the output looks like this:
The reason for this is so when I sort my products in my shop they will go in the correct numerical order as well as making everything easier to maintain. I only need it to be 2 digits before the decimal point because the max number input will never be over 99...
Hello everyone... I've got a question about an onKeyUp event. I'm using a text box that HAS to be a negative number therefore it has to have a - sign in front of the number. Can someone point me in the right direction as to how to write a function to do this? Thanks so much...
Have a computed field ("Subtotal"). With that number, need to set up rule such that if Subtotal is a certain number, a certain number will print in the new field (lets call it "First").[code]...
I have a field that use the 'remote' option to call a server sidescript to check the field value.If the field value is wrong, after each new key pressed, the remoteserver side is called.This could be very ennoying and increase the load on our server.There is a way to disable the "onkeyup" event only for a specificfield ?I have tried :
I'm trying to update the input field that ends in the word 'label', but not update the one that ends in 'label' and has 'choice' in the name. (really just looking for line 9 to work). <html><head> <script src="jsjquery-1.3.2.min.js" language="javascript" id="javascript"></script> <script> $(function(){ $(':input[name$=label]').val('111'); $(':input[name*=choices]').val('222'); $(':input[name$=label]').find(':input[name*=choices]').val('333'); $(':input[name$=label]').find(':not:input[name*=choices]').val('444'); }); </script></head><body> <input name="section[x].fr[y].label" value="" /> <input name="section[x].fr[y].choices[z].label" value="" /> </body></html>
I'm trying to implement a validation in my form, but that should not be bound to an specific field. in fact, I have three input type=text, and I need at least one of them to be filled (like a conditional 'required').
I'm developing a web page. It includes 2 text boxes. One text box for city and another text box for std code. I wrote the code for auto suggestion to city. Now i want to pre populate the STD code when ever a known city is selected (when city is selected from the recommendations displayed for city field).
