Closing A Large Number Of Divs In One Go?

Nov 22, 2010

I use a bunch of overlapping divs. They operate as pop ups i.e. user clicks button, calls function to show div, it also hides any other divs that might have been open previously i.e. only one div open at one time i.e sample code:

function pop1(){

MM_showHideLayers('pop1','','show','pop2','','hide','pop3','','hide','pop4','','hide','pop5','','hid e','pop6','','hide','pop7','','hide','pop8','','hide','pop9','','hide','pop10','','hide','pop11','',

[Code]....

Is there a way to hide a bunch of dics in one go

i.e. I thought that if I put the pop divs in another container i.e. another div, then told the container div to hide, then all the embeded divs will also be hidden. This did not seem to work

Closing And Open Divs ?

Mar 2, 2010

I'm working on a website where I need some help with open and closing divs using javascript.

This is the website: [url]

As you can see I'm using a javascript to open each jeans style link, I don't know if this is the best way to do it, but it's how I've done it so far. If you click the "Frankie style link" at the bottom the div called Frankie will show and you will see a little image in that div that says "next wash". What I would like this link to do is to close the frankie div and open up another wich looks almost the same as the previous, the only thing that will change is the pictures actually.

JQuery :: Opening And Closing Divs ?

Ajax :: Show Or Hide DIVs In A Large Registration Form

Sep 16, 2009

I am building a large registration form. In this form, a sponsor/educator must register himself or herself and then may add up to 6 more " delegates" in pairs. The first two pairs registration info on the form is shown by default. I need to hide the other two pairs until when/if the user clicks on a button to add two more delegates at a time. I used javascript to show or hide the parts of the form that I had put into two divs and adjusted the css display attribute. However, my problem was that, if the user filled out the sponsor/educator section and the first two delegates, and then decided to add two more, when the user clicked on the button to show the part of the form for delegates 3 and 4, it reset all the previous visible form fields to empty. Not good. So, I thought, maybe AJAX.

I created the request object (I am a relative novice at AJAX), had it grab a text file with the code to insert into my target div, in this case a div with id = "delegate3and4". Surprisingly however, it still reset the previous form fields to empty. Am I misunderstanding how AJAX is supposed to work? I figured that, because it does not refresh the page that this would not happen. In fact, to test this out, I created a simple page from scratch with just a single input field and then used AJAX to insert the file in a div after this field and it did not reset the previous input. So, I am totally confused about why this would be happening on my live page. The page is a php page as it submits the form to a php script for processing but I don't think this should make a difference.

JQuery :: Opening And Closing Multiple Divs

Here's what I have now:

JQuery :: Control Large Number Of Ajax Requests?

Mar 26, 2010

I have a element when click, it will trigger some other elements to be selected. and those elements will trigger elements in next level.

It is a three levels hierarchy so to speak. but each element will send an ajax request when selected. Those requests will become out of control especially when I repeatedly click the root element.

Can I queue those XHR request in a queue and send them one by one? or maybe add a delay before send so that they can collect their information into one batch request and send one request after that.

Simplifying A Large Number Of Similar Object Definitions?

Mar 24, 2009

I am looking for a way to simplify a large series of object definitions in the form:

var Img0 ={init:function(){Img0.div = document.getElementById("img0"); Img1.init();}};
var Img1 ={init:function(){Img1.div = document.getElementById("img1"); Img2.init();}};

[Code]....

The program I have developed (for animated greeting cards) works fine but for a large number of images there are an equal number of these object definitions. I am aware of such techniques as using +i+ in place of the numbers 0, 1, 2, ... and assigning an increasing value to i in a loop. However, I do not see a way to use such a loop here.

Number.toLongString() Method For Extremely Large Values

Feb 1, 2003

The standard Number.toString() method returns values in scientific notation once they exceed 10^20. In many cases, this is not an expected or desired result.

The toLongString() method provides a solution by always returning a literal numeric value regardless of the number's size. However, the value returned will not be accurate beyond the first [log base (radix) of (10^15)] digits.

radix: Optional. A number between 2 and 36, inclusive.Number.prototype.toLongString = function(){
var radix, n = this, d, t = '', p = ''
if(arguments.length>0 && typeof(arguments[0])=='number'){
radix = Math.round(arguments[0]);
if(radix<2) radix = 2;
if(radix>36) radix = 36;
} else {
radix = 10;
}
if(n < 0){
n *= -1;
p = '-'
}
while(n > radix){
d = n % radix;
n = (n-d)/radix;
t = d.toString(radix) + t;
}
return p + n.toString(radix) + t;
}

Closing .js File When Closing Associated Window

Aug 18, 2010

I have a starting page, Page1.php that uses Page1.js.In Page1.js, I'm using the onclick event for a button that's on that page. When the button is clicked, it goes to Page2.php. Okay, fine.Page2.php is using Page2.js. But when the browser switches to page 2, I get a javascript error because, somehow, it's still referencing the Page1.js file. (Using IE8)So how do I 'dereference' the first javascript file, so that when Page2 loads, it doesn't still try to instantiate the objects in Page1.js? (I'm getting a null object error when Page2.php loads).

Switch Between A Series Of Divs - On Clicking A Navigation Tab The Divs Display Property Is Set To 'block'

Jan 22, 2009

I am using javascript to switch between a series of divs, on clicking a navigation tab the divs display property is set to 'block' and all other divs have their display property set to 'none'. That works fine, the problem I have is when I redirect to another page (e.g. a PHP script) on return to the index the divs have reset and only the default div is shown, rather than the div that was showing when the user left the page. The solution, as I see it, is two stages: Write a function to display the relevant div based on the variable passed to it, then work out how to pass this variable around various pages (post/get). I am very inexperienced with javascript and it drives me mad that the script literally does nothing rather than throwing up an error (as in PHP) but this is what I have so far in terms of a function:

JQuery :: Show Two Separate Divs, Hide Divs On One Click?

Aug 19, 2009

I'm looking for some javascript to work with wordpress (jQuery preferrably) that will show/hide multiple divs on one click.

I had one working but it was kinda janky because it was causing me to have two divs with the same ID on one page. No good.

Since I updated to wp2.8.3 prior to launch, it's not working. So I've decided to just try and do it right.

Here's a page: [URL]

So, what I want to happen: On page load, the first tab: "general" and it's corresponding div beneath should be showing. And the first image should be showing. The other content divs and images should be hidden. I've given the text content divs a dashed border to show their borders. When a visitor clicks "dine at home" the general div and image hide, the second content div shows, as does the second image (it's currently the identical image, but the client may change later.) Etc.

I'll be using this function on a few other pages as well.

how to adjust this javascript to work on two different IDs at once?

current code:

Code:
<script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8">
$(function () {
var tabContainers = $('div.imgswap > div');

Script For Counting A Number - Want Down To Another Number That Resets?

Nov 28, 2011

I am trying to figure out how to make a random number I can plug into a script count down from that number at certain times of the day until it reaches 0. I would like it to reset itself at midnight every day. I'm trying to make it work with a script I found on here that resets itself at midnight every day. So instead of it counting down too fast, it would count down to the next number after a randomly generated number of minutes until it reaches 0. But it wouldn't necessarily have to end at 0 at midnight. It could go from 845 to 323 at the end of the day at a slower pace. Is that possible?
