Script For Counting A Number - Want Down To Another Number That Resets?
Nov 28, 2011
I am trying to figure out how to make a random number I can plug into a script count down from that number at certain times of the day until it reaches 0. I would like it to reset itself at midnight every day. I'm trying to make it work with a script I found on here that resets itself at midnight every day. So instead of it counting down too fast, it would count down to the next number after a randomly generated number of minutes until it reaches 0. But it wouldn't necessarily have to end at 0 at midnight. It could go from 845 to 323 at the end of the day at a slower pace. Is that possible?
I can do this using Java, Vb.Net or C# .. Now, I am currently studying javascript but I don't know how to do this... I want a looping number, the number will start at 200 and it must end at 900, the loop format is like a.. from 200 it must increment but 1 every second and stop when it reach the 900, the counter must start when the page is loading or after loading.
I have a need to count how many time the image ok.png is displayed within a div. this is for a dynamic sys req. check where 1 of three images will be shown in a row. If the endusers browser doesnt meet certain req, it will show either an alert, question or an ok.png.I need to know how many oks there are, specifically I need to check that all five images are the ok.png so I can show the rest of the content.I am able to get the number of images with a simple var totalgreen = $("#wrap img").length; But im stuck after that.
I have this script that is supposed to check if a number the user guesses is the same as the randomly generated number.Problem is that the random number generated at the start of the program keeps on changing everytime I click on the "Check if I'm right" button, the random number gets generated again and I never ever get to reach the correct answer

Hello everyone... I've got a question about an onKeyUp event. I'm using a text box that HAS to be a negative number therefore it has to have a - sign in front of the number. Can someone point me in the right direction as to how to write a function to do this? Thanks so much...
I am working on trying to create a Picture Bingo JavaScript. I am using the standard Bingo Card Generator and it works great however, I need help coding the script so that the number are associated with a picture for example everytime number 12 would show up on the card an image would replace the number. Here is the code that I am using:
When updating our agency's webpage daily, [URL] I am looking for a shortcut to save time.. When I update air quality numbers. I have to put the conditions. Ex.. 50 = good 100= moderate etc etc. As you see here(bold and underlined)
[Code]...
Well instead of having to type good or moderate every-time to correlate with the numbers, I want to find a way the category can automatically default correctly when I put in just the number. Ex, if I put in the number 100, it automatically knows to issue/ put Moderate with out me having to type it. I semi wrote a code .. Yet can't seem to know how to execute. Seeing if Maybe I can get some assistance.
I have a function below where every time a question is submitted, it will add a new row in the table with a textbox which allows numbers entry only. My question is that I don't know how to code these features in this function:
I want the text box to be between 0 and 100, so if text box contains a number which is above 100, it will automatically change the number to the maximum number which is 100.
Does any one know how to code this in my function below in javascript:
When I used toFixed() method on a number, I thought that this method round a number to a specified approximation, but I got a surprising result, the number became string! 15.23689.toFixed(2) ==> "15.24". So does it convert the number into string?
What i'm trying to do is replacing the size=180 part of the src (in this case an image) with size=400 so that the images appear larger. I can't simply replace any "180" with "800" because the value might be present in the lid or isbn.So far I've pretty much cut the url up in pieces (I reckon it could be done a lot easier), but I'm stuck with replacing it.[code]
So if the user on my website types 52 it would return the following value: 52, or just, 5 how do I detect something like this. if they enter: 5 how can I detect the number "2" and put it superscripted past the number 5. so the javascript reads this: 5 and returns this: 52
I'd like to make a Degree object that inherits from the Number object and uses the Number constructor but adds a .rad() method that returns the value in radians.
If I do something like:
It generally works but I don't get Number's methods like toString and toPrecision.
I am delving into the coding world and while I understand the basic principle of cookies, conditional statements, arrays, etc...I have looked around the web and this forum with little success. If the situation below is too complicated, I would really appreciate even a shove in the right direction regarding the logic. How could I show a preset counter which counts up from a preset, beginning number toward a preset, end number? I imagine the increment and speed is set be the difference between the two numbers and a timeframe.
 Assumptions:I would rather not set the increment but edit the end number to show a steady increase. As I update that number, the increment adapts dynamically. I would want the number/script to be useful, so it should not refresh to the beginning number on each page load (i.e. num=0). When a visitor comes to the page, it must seem like the counter has been steadily been increasing in their absence.Coke or Pesi did something similar one time regarding cans sold to date (doubt it was plugged into a DB somewhere but rather based on a steady sales figure) and it was pretty cool.
Now I want to add a javascript to the page that informs me of which row I have clicked. If I click the second row it should fire an alert with "You clicked row: 2". I don't want to add javascript inside the html of the table.
I have a pdf form that has an invoice number I would like to make the number in the text field add (1) each time the document open and save it, so that the next time the document is opened it will display a consecutive number. Example: 9078, 9079, 9080, 9081...etc.
i am using ajax but this is the problem in js it is giving me a NaN when i goto check the output. on two different servers two different responses on my localhost test environment i am getting the correct info and on the server online i get NaN response. i am using this to set the width of my hp bar
Code: document.getElementById("ehpBar").style.width=count1+"%"; and count1 looks like this Code: var count1 = hp/basehp*100;
i have tried rounding it and everything and i just get the same stupid NaN error. I can use each variable by itself and it outputs the correct number on both servers and then when i try to divide it NaN on one server and works perfectly on the other. I know it is probably something simple i am just missing it.
I have a string stored in a variable var = "4.25 houses".
I would like to only extract the currency value, ie "4.25" from this. Is this possible? Also I would like to divide and multiply the new variable I get... does this number need to be converted or something?
This is probably the stupidest question ever. I know in java you can take advantage of a number being an int (not double) and divide by something without getting a remainder. But in javascript you dont declare what kind of variable something is.
So my problem is: Given any double or triple digit number, how do i get all but the last digit. Like if i have 13, I need to make an int with 1. If it's 103 i need one with 10.
I need to have a unique id for each input that is displayed. How can I do this? I can't use vars or anything in there as variables don't work in this as it is?
but I want to add that random number to a value that is enterred into an inputbox and get a total. How can I do this using Javascript and put the result into a hidden field. I will also need to use that same random number in another place on another form .
