I have thought about using the standard email checker pattern but we have had problems in the past so looking to check if the string follows these simple rules.
has no spaces, has a character/s at the start followed by an @ then has a character/s followed by a (dot) then another character/s
i.e
a@a.a
aa@aa.aa
aaa@aaaaaaaaa.aaa
i am not sure how the standard pattern works but feel that it may be to complex which causes some email address to fail.
Heres my javascript code that will verify email from email input field and check if the checkbox (I agree condition) was checked:
[Code]....
However, this will work fine when calling with a link "javascript:validate('inputForm');" but if I try to prevent users by submitting form with pressing enter I put it in form onSubmit parameter: <form .. onSubmit="javascript:validate('inputForm');"> which will check the forms and submit data (do return) no matter if it matched or no.
Quick question: I have a simple script (PHP) that emails users information along with a URL. This URL is encoded with characters and is extremely long, and needs to be clicked on by the user, as is, from within the email.
I have noticed that email clients like Hotmail, Yahoo! mail, and even other app. based clients allow the user to directly click on the URL. However other users, especially AOL users, are having problems clicking on this URL.
Does anyone know how to embed URL's within an email for AOL users? I know its a bit different because whe I receive newsletters, they normally have a separate link for AOL users.
I am making a contact us form, when the user will submit the form it will send the entered information via email to a already specified E-mail address ( using mailto: option), Now everything is working fine, But I can not figure out how format the enterd information into a nicely formatted E-mail. I know that can be done using PHP, but it suppose to be made from javascript (Client requirement).
The above code was copied from a Youtube tutorial about JavaScript.
I would like to ask, what additional code should be added in the existing code in order to validate the numbers only and an email format before the form to be submitted?
I have a requirement to send an Email thru Javascript in HTML format. PFA Attached sample EMail HTML. Requirements are
* Make sure we use Times NEw Roman size 10 font for the message text * Make sure we BOLD the text value..
I know it's achievable only thru some HTML identifying logic or use of some HTML tags inside javascript like document.write etc..but even after trying my best available options i couldnt achieve the same..
I am pasting a sample EMail HTML, and if you can edit it n send to me back with sample code how to send EMail in HTML format using Javasscript, it would be of immense help
If its not feasible, plz also reply back so that I could go back to Customer and tell that its not feasible. Code:
<script type=text/javascript> function hide_tooltip(){ var hp = document.getElementById("tooltipper"); hp.style.left=0; hp.style.top=0; hp.style.width=1; hp.style.height=1; hp.style.padding=0; hp.style.border=0; hp.innerHTML=""; } function show_tooltip(event,wid,ht,txt){ var vp=document.getElementById("tooltipper"); vp.style.border="1px solid black"; vp.style.left=event.clientX+25; vp.style.top=event.clientY-1; vp.style.width = wid; vp.style.height = ht; vp.style.padding=10; vp.innerHTML=txt;
}
</script>
</head>
<body> <BR><BR> <form>
<a href=# onmouseover="javascript:show_tooltip(event,400,10,'This is an input text box that you need to fill in.');" onmouseout="javascript:hide_tooltip();" style='color:red'><input type=text name='bob'></a> </form> <div id='tooltipper' style='position:absolute;left:0;top:0;width:1;heig ht:1;border:0;background-color:rgb(250,250,255)'></div> </body></html> ===================================== Question:... Is there any way to insert a NewLine in the text string to control the formatting of the text in the window??
I have a dynamically-generated menu, that resides in an unordered list. I want to be able to change the font styling for only one of the items (make 'contribute' red instead of blue). I thought it might be possible to explore the UL through DOM, and then write some css inline if the string matches. Does this make sense, and if so, anyone have any thoughts on how I would do this?
I have a simple example below showing how when I pass in the value of the value attribute of option node, and then use if operator to check whether parameter is a string or not, even though it's a string, it converts it to false boolean and triggers the else statement rather than calling a function.callback should be a string so why is it saying otherwise?
Basically I'm using the plugin to validate a form. I've got the basics set up and working. Now I'm trying to use remote so that I can check for a duplicate email address. The problem is as soon as I add my checking script the validation stops working on the email field completely. It constantly says "please enter a valid email address" no matter what I put in the field. If I don't have the remote bit in my code the email field validation works correctly. Here is my site: [URL].
This is my code: login.js $(document).ready(function(){ $('#content form').validate({ rules: { title:{ required: true }, name: { .....
function check_email(mailstring) { valid = "1234567890qwertyuiop[]asdfghjklzxcvbnm.@-_QWERTYUIOPASDFGHJKLZXCVBNM"; for(i=0; i < mailstring.length ;i++)
[Code]....
at the moment its checks that someting has been enetered in all these fields,
what would be the best way to check that the email or phone nummber had been entered?? will not send if nothing enetered, but will send if one or both have been enetered?
So I have a new window document write which outputs all my data after validation into a new window, I have tried to write a button which will (when clicked) send that information to an email address. here is my code so far. i spent about 2 hours checking and playing around looking for errors couldnt find any. I think the problem is the function EmailForm and function subwrite. Is a button written into a new window a common thing to do? or is there another simpler way, however i want the user to be able to check to see if there data is valid and then click to send the email.
<HTML> <!--learn to program through JavaScript--> <mymerch.HTML> <HEAD> <TITLE> mymerch </TITLE> <SCRIPT LANGUAGE=JavaScript> //declaringvariables var firname; var surname; [Code]...
I'm trying to do this email obfuscation thing where I reverse the email direction with php and then on the page flip it right way with css.
Looks great and works great, expect when I copy the email, it's of course backwards.
Would you have any ideas how to use jQuery (or just plain js) to flip it right way when it is copied? Or would it make the whole obfuscation thing useless?
Goal: get query string and email the sting upon users submitting form. Reason: To know what marketing ad unit the user can from Details. I need to get a query sting from the url (ex. example.htm?id=22e&moreid=99lk) and store the stings as vars and be able to pass these vars from page to page (hidden from the user) and when the user gets to a registration form and submits the form, the vars get attached to the email that is sent to me, so I know where they came from.
So I want to be able to check the last 15 characters of a string for either <br /> or a space. I know how to do this with PHP but I have no clue how to do this with Javascript and Google is failing me. Could someone point me in the right direction?
I'm assuming this will be done with lastIndexOf but I do not know how to do it. So to reiterate, I want to check to see if either a space exists, or <br />, delete everything after that, and return the string. So the output of the example string would be...
I was just wondering how to go about checking the content of a string to see if it matches a set criteria?
For example, if I want to make sure somebody enters a date as mm/yyyy, how do I check to ensure there are:
2 numbers between 1 and 12 before the /.4 numbers between 2005 and 2020 after the /.And that the / appears between the two. I know in PHP you would use a regular expression, but how do you do it in Javascript?
I am trying to check for Arabic characters in a string using Regular expressions. This should return true, as the string in the str variable is indeed Arabic character. But it returns false.
