Here is the HTML: [URL] I'm trying to uncheck the selected radio button, then set the value to 1 (Yes), basically overwriting theinitialvalue to 1. I've looked at prop(), val(), and attr(), and just don't know where to start. Should I select $('#set_q157 input') or$('#set_q157 input:radio'), or each individual radio?
Do I need to each them, and check if its checked, then change its value, or is there a way to select all three inputs as just one radial button? It would also need to work if the input has not yet been checked.

I would like to check the value in an input box and if the value has changed, then perform the action. Being a newbie at Jquery, I am not sure about the syntax.
var timeout = undefined;
var str = ''; /* Get the initial value and if changed, do something */
$('#input_box').live('keyup', function() {
if(timeout != undefined) {
clearTimeout(timeout);
}
var timeout = setTimeout(function() {
timeout = undefined;
/* Do something */
$('#log').append('<div>Handler for input_box .keyup() called.</div>');
}, 1500);
});

One holds the form and the other the php Query process.Im using a small piece of javascript to POST the value to my php Query process scriptbut im finding it difficult to display a result by fading in a div based on the query response.For example if i type in a tag and the tag already exists i want the php to check the table and the return a faeIN div to say it "already exists" otherwise fadeIN a div to say "Tag inserted into database"But i also am using a little more JS to clear the input field value as well.All this is done without reloading the page.So basically if the tag "People" exists in the MYSQL table then i want the div #i2 to fade in and say "Already exists!"My code is below:The HTML
<form method="post">
<div>
<strong>Keyword: </strong> <input type="input" id="tag" name="tag"/> <input type="button" id="send"

I'm trying to learn JavaScript. so what I want to do is have a question at the top of the page asking about a picture. Then the user must type the answer in. So I want to set up the script to recognize whether or not the input is correct and go to a different page accordingly.

This is probably going to show how new I am to jQueryI have a form with an input text field for entering a URL. The user will most likely paste a URL and I want to automatically verify it's status once the user leaves the field. Basically just make sure the page loads ok.I've found dozens of topics that are close to this, but my lack of jQuery skills is hindering me from adapting any of them properly.

I need to find a way of modifying this function so it only initiates a request if there is a period of say 2 seconds of inactivity. The user inputs some text, and if they stop typing for 2 seconds, it should then fire off the request. Can someone tell me how i can check for inactivity in the #inputString field? This must involve some kind of timer, but how should it be structured?the lookup function sends the current value of inputstring to another function which posts it to the server side file which then returns the results in a box.
$(function() {
$('#inputString').keyup(function(e) {

When submitting a form, I would like to check the values of some fields first. These fields are dynamically generated by javascript after the page has loaded (that is, a user selected a value from a dropdown between 1 and 10, if 2 is selected, 2 inputs are generated, if 7 is selected, 7 inputs are generated etc). I think I understand that Jquery isn't aware of these items because they were created after the DOM was scanned. Is there any way I can 'refresh' jquery to make it aware of these new items?

I use the Validation plugin [URL] and do like this:
frmzip: {
required: true,
digits: true,
remote: zip.php,
},
I have two fields; zip and city, I validate zip with remote and it checks against a list if the zip is valid, but i want it too:
Check if the zip is valid
Return true if it is valid and return the city of the zip and paste it in the city-input...
Of course I have a database/array/list with all zip and city's.

I am having trouble with some javascript code that checks the first 2 letters of what the user inputs and whether it equals a certain set of characters. If the user for instance types in 'TT' in an input field, then i want the holding div to disappear, if anything else is typed in then this action wont happen. My code is below:
Code:
<script type="text/javascript">
function checkCode() {
var x=document.forms["myform"]["code"].value.substring(0, 2);
if (x == 'TT')
[Code]...
I believe the problem lies in the javascript line: "if (x == 'TT')", as the rest of the script responds but it just doesnt recognise whether 'x' starts with 'TT'

I have a webpage with a single form. Under that form I have two separate lists of checkboxes. One set is called eventList the other is assigneeList.I have added two other checkboxes, one is as follows,
Code:
<input name="checkAllEvents" type="checkbox" id="checkAllEvents" onclick="checkAll(this.id, 'eventList')" />
The other is,
Code:
input name="checkAllDelegates" type="checkbox" id="checkAllDelegates" onclick="checkAll(this.id, 'assigneeList')" />
What I want to do is, check all the assigneeList boxes with the same value as the checkAllDelegates checkbox. And the same go the other set respectively.Through rummaging around I came up with the following,
Code:
<script type="text/javascript">
$(function checkAll(id, name) {
$("INPUT[@name=" + name + "][type='checkbox']").attr('checked', $('#' + id).is(':checked'));
});
</script>
However nothing seems to happen when I check the boxes, what am I doing wrong?

I'm trying to check the client's window height and then apply some proper css in some div classes. The code I use does not work in IE6 and IE7.
<body onload="document.write(document.documentElement.clientHeight);">
I resize the window, I refresh the page and the height that the code returns, remains the same. I searched about it in google and it seems that the document.documentElement.clientHeight is compatible with IE, so I don't understand why is this happening
