i need to ask the user for details about a car, i will not know how many cars are going to be stored and therefore need an array i think. I need the function for asking the user and will need to repeat the code later in a menu. at this stage i just want to ask the user for input, store it in array and use an alert to check if it works?

I am trying to store multiple text values into an array when a check box is checked. for example when row1 checkbox is checked the values row1col1 and row1col2 are stored in an array. note however row1col1 and row1col2 are editable and not readonly. for example:

I want to pop up alert when the user browse file into input for example I have this input:

Now, when the user finish to browse an file I want a function to start working, what I mean by finish browse file is when the user select file and than click on the file he selected twice and than when the browsing files windows close I want this function to start.

I need to find a way of modifying this function so it only initiates a request if there is a period of say 2 seconds of inactivity. The user inputs some text, and if they stop typing for 2 seconds, it should then fire off the request. Can someone tell me how i can check for inactivity in the #inputString field? This must involve some kind of timer, but how should it be structured?the lookup function sends the current value of inputstring to another function which posts it to the server side file which then returns the results in a box.

I'm adding the ability for the user to input his own values into 6 input fields, some or all of which may be left blank. I have already an array populated (thanks to Paul Wilkins) with default values. How do I get the user's values into that array so the calculations will be performed on it?I got this far, but was unable to understand the problems brought up by JSHint.com.

I'm trying to create a 4 x 4 array filled with numbers input by the user. I then need to rotate the grid clockwise like I've shown below.
01 02 03 04
05 06 07 08
09 10 11 12
13 14 15 16
13 09 05 01
14 10 06 02
15 11 07 03
16 12 08 04
I made all numbers double digit just for show in the example so the table is easier to read. So far the code I have is just trying to create the array and fill with numbers from the user. This asks for a number once then doesn't display anything at all.

I need to have the user input 5 set of; miles, and gallons used to calculate mpg. Also need to total miles and gallons used. I have the array ok, but i cannot remember how to figure mpg for each array element. this is what i have. everything works execpt the mpg for each array element.

I am having some trouble with creating cookies and getting them to work for an onclick event. What I am trying to do is create a button to store cookies containing all user information with an alert message and set the expiration date one day after the visit. What I am trying to do is to create an array that could hold "dates". (1/3/2004)
I have a file that has 6 sets of 3 dates. So 18 individual dates.
The program reads the file and takes in the dates.
What I have is a while loop. Inside the while loop it reads each set one at a time and passes it to a method which will sort the dates in the chronological order. Code:

First off, The application in question can be found at:[URL]... It uses pixastic, then the "convert to png" button converts the canvas to a saveable image. The application is going to produce a slideshow using the edited images. I obviously have the option of allowing my users to save the edited images locally, and then reload them to create the slideshow.
Ideally though, I would like this image loading process to be done from within the browser though.

Here is the HTML: [URL] I'm trying to uncheck the selected radio button, then set the value to 1 (Yes), basically overwriting theinitialvalue to 1. I've looked at prop(), val(), and attr(), and just don't know where to start. Should I select $('#set_q157 input') or$('#set_q157 input:radio'), or each individual radio?
Do I need to each them, and check if its checked, then change its value, or is there a way to select all three inputs as just one radial button? It would also need to work if the input has not yet been checked.

A <select> box is dynamically created based on a table in the database. Using jQuery, the user can then select multiple email addresses (the value of the options in the select box), and remove them from the select box completely. This leaves only the email addresses the user wants to include in the email.
The problem I've encountered is that the once the user is done removing options they don't wish to include, they have to then select all the remaining options before hitting submit in order for the mail processor to see them as addresses to include.I was thinking maybe instead of the submit button, I just create another button tied to a jQuery function that selects all the remaining values, and then submits the form for the user?
