Changing Multiple Images Onmouseover ?
Apr 28, 2011
I have a nice little script that changes a company's logo (displayed in a side bar) when the user mouses over a part of an image map.
Here is the basic code:
My question is, how can I get three different images (company logo, weekly price chart and monthly price chart - all of which are in an image folder on my server) to change on this one mouseover event. I tried replicating the function three times and altering each function's name but that ended up screwing the whole thing up.

Im trying to design a website at the moment...
and i dont know the first thing about javascript...
Basically what i want to do is have 6 images change randomly on load of the webpage...
Basically i have:
- 1 main image
- 1 logo
- 4 buttons
Now these buttons all have a certain colour in them...
Each one is different... (green, blue, orange, purple)
So when someone loads the webpage i need all the images to change randomly...
BUT, here comes the hard part for me...
I need the images to all change together...
So i dont have a green button, a red logo, a blue main image...
As they are randomly changing on load of the page, i need them to all change together... so there are 6 RED images...
Next time they load, there are 6 green images...
Its essential that colours are not mixed...

I'm trying to change the onmouseover event dynamically.
This sets-up the initial onmouseover event:
<a href="home.html"> <img border="0" id="img22"
src="images/home1.jpg" height="15" width="85" alt="Home"
Here I'm changing the image and trying to disable the onmouseover
event:
<script type="text/javascript">
if (bHome==0) {
FP_swapImg(1,0,/*id*/'img22',/*url*/'images/contact1.jpg');
document.write ('<div id="img22"
}
</script>
This script works with Mozilla but not with IE.
Any recommendations or suggestions?

So I didn't think this would be very hard, but I keep running into problems.
I have:
function changeCSS(idName, newClass) {
document.getElementById(idName).className=newClass;
}
And then:
<p id="Link1" onmouseover="changeCSS(Link1, '#profileNav .hoverNav');" onmouseout="changeCSS(Link1, '#profileNav p');">Link1</p>
I get the error "Link1 is not defined" though.
Anyone know why this is happening? Or a different way to achieve my main goal which is to change Link1's css class.

I am a complete novice when it come to Javascript. I copied the script for displaying random images at a specific interval (from javascriptkit.com). I would appreciate knowing whether the following is possible:
The pages are based on tables, so the parts that change are all cells.
1. Can I define text instead of an image in the array? i.e. can I have the image change to say an apple in one cell and the next cell have text explaining what an apple is?
2. Would it be possible to put a countdown timer for when the image/text is going to change?

I have a loop that creates multiple divs, and assigns each one it's own id and positioning on the page. Everything is working fine here.
However, I need to have a different onmouseover for each div (I'm going to be using an ajax call inside each onmouseover that pulls a different url depending on the div that you have pointed at)
Here is the snippet of code that I used to add the onmouseover attribute to each div. This section of code is inside a larger loop, so the "div" variable is a unique div on each iteration of the loop:
div.onmouseover = function() {
var x1 = (str[0]+3)/9;
var y1 = (str[1]+3)/9;
[Code].....
The str array is a collection of x and y coordinates that the script at star_name.php uses to determine what information needs to be displayed inside the div "label_texter" in the ajax call. If you are not familiar with the mootools framework, you can ignore most of the code inside the function.
The real problem is that for some reason, all the div's created end up with the exact same thing within the url variable. Even though the str[0] and str[1] variables are changed on each iteration of the loop.
In fact, it seems as though they all end up with the last str array values in the loop.

Im a complete newbie to javascript and I've basically copied and pasted the javascript I found here to use on my site. Its an onMouseOver slideshow: [URL] to use on my site. Basically, my problem is how do I add a second, separate image in a different location on the web page, associated with this script? If I post <a href="javascript:warp()"><img src="myimage" name="targetimage" border=0></a> in two different locations, which is the script for the image, the script stops working, but having it once makes it work. So how do I add two different image locations? Can someone please help me here? I just want to add more images in a different location. ie have image location 1, and image location 2.

I have a number of images placed on a map (the images are dots indicating a location)
When clicked, that displays different textual information somewhere on the page. View here and click the dots on the map for what I am trying to explain: [url]
What I want to do now is to toggle these dots so that when clicked, the dot turns white. This I could do with some code I found on the net. However, I need it to toggle all images. In that if one image has been clicked and turned white, and then the user clicks a different black ot, then that black dot should turn white, and the white dot should turn back clack.

I am probably use way too much code to have this done.. but this is what I came up with..
$(function() {
$("#mail")
.mouseover(function() {
var src = $(this).attr("src").match(/[^.]+/) + "_over.png";
[Code]....
Problem is it doesn't do anything. When I only have one image set to change on mouseover it works fine.. I put two or more in there it doesn't work on any of the images.

I've got a Javascript which changes the background image of the body by rotating other images. What I want is the script to change the background to a specific div and not of the whole body section. Since I'm not an expert in Javascript I have Googled a lot but couldn't work it out till now. In other words that I want is to alter/change in the script the line "...document.body.background=processed [abc].src.." in a way and add ... so that this script works for a specific div and not only for the whole webpage...
<script language="Javascript">
var bgimage=new Array()

I want to swap the source of two images when you click on one image. Basically, I am switching on/off states. But I can't even get the first part to work. Here is a function that I would think replace the word "off" in the image file name with "on" when you click on an image with the class .img-swap. After that I would imagine I would toggle the class of each somehow.
$(".img-swap").click(function () {
$(this).attr("src").replace("-off", "-on");
});

i have a document that places, reads cookies, and counts visits. it's design is to display text reading: "you have visited this site "x" times. this works fine - last week's assign. My assignment this week is to modify this document to display 4 images in succession. first, using a series of "if" statements within the body. next, is to replace if statements with switch statement. finally, to use an array to display images. i've been working on this for a week, and have made seemingly no progress. this is my starting point:

I am doing a form for my site and would like to enable and disable a radio
button set depending on whether one of the choices on an outer radio button
set is checked. How can I refer to all the inputs of the inner radio button
set (they all share a common name) with javascript. I tried
document.getElementsByNames('thename') but it doesn't work. I know this is
because this method returns an array which you must then refer to by a
specific index number, unless there is another way. I would like to refer to
all of them at once and then set their disabled status to false.
