Automatically Populate Things Into The Respective Fields - Read The First Line In The Textbox And Load It Into Contact Person Field
Jun 9, 2009
1)i need to create a form with few fields like phoneno,website,address etc and one text area.
2) i copy n paste the details in the textarea n when i click d button. it should automatically populate things into the respective fields.
here s my logic wt i taught of:
1)read the first line in the textbox and load it into contact person field.
2)find the @ symbol and put it into the respective field and if there are more than 1 mail id load it into the same feild using commas.
3)if the phone no is 10 digits then load it into the mobile field else load the rest it into phone field.
4)find for words like road,street,block,stage,floor etc,if present then load it into the address field till the last comma is encountered.
5)the last digits in the address should be loaded into the pincode field.
6)the last word present in the address after the last comma and before the hyphen should be loaded into the city field.
7)find for www or http and load it into the website field,if not found leave it blank.
CONDITIONS:If a person selects a Friday Class but not a Saturday Class the Total Cost Field will automatically enter $99.If a person selects a Saturday Class but not a Friday Class the Total Cost Field will automatically enter $99 as well.If a person selects both a Friday & Saturday Class the Total Cost field will automatically be $159.I found the following code and so far only have it changing when a Friday class is entered. I have no idea where to go from here

How do I read a local text file line by line, one line at a time. I got upto opening a file, and can read whole file at a time. But I want to read just one line at a time. May be have a counter of lenght of the file and read only the counter number line at a time.
<SCRIPT language=JavaScript> var fso = new ActiveXObject( 'Scripting.FileSystemObject' ); f = fso.OpenTextFile( "c:\mytextfile.txt", 1 );
Below is the script and form fields I am working with. What I want to do is sum the two textbox fields and have the result show in the total textbox. The code works fine and the total textbox is updated with the value of form1.basic. The problem occurs when I add the "+ parseInt(document.form2.supporter.value)" code in the script section.
It's beginning to get confusing as some code seems very complicated. I simply want four fields to be mandatory when filling out the form - so if one or more is not filled in, an alert appears saying 'Please fill out all required fields' (or something to that extent) before it will process. I understand that I need to include Javascript within the Head secion of the page and corresponding html and javascript within the contact form itself.Required Fields are: Name, Address, Area Code and Phone.<div id="main"><p>Please feel free to contact us with any query. see the <a href="services.html">Services</a> page.<br />All fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required.</p>
I would like to automatically populate a drop down menu when the page loads based on the selection of an item in a different drop down menu. I made a test page that when drop down #1 changes, drop down #2 populates. Does anyone know how to get drop down #2 to populate based on what is selected in drop down #1 when the page loads? Code:
I have some contents on my page that are displayed on click or hover.Therefore, initially they are hidden using the hide() method.
They work fine as intended.
But if it is a slow computer, you can see them on the screen for a second or two before they disappear. Or if the user refreshes the page - you get the same thing happen. How can I prevent this?
I'm using Google Maps to calculate distance between cities. I need to use that distance value for some basic calculations. Distance has to be in "Angloamerican" format (1,234.00) but in metric system. So, Google Maps answer for Madrid - Berlin query will be one of these two:
a) <span jscontent="distance['text']" jsdisplay="distance" jstcache="7">2.320,1 km</span> b) <span jscontent="distance.text" jstcache="23">2.320,1 km</span>
notice the differences in span "classes" (jstcache is 7 or 23) and lack of any "id" or "name" attributes.
What I want to accomplish is:
1) Convert these Google Maps distance values to "Angloamerican" format (2,320 km) or (even better) format without thousands separator which would only use dots as decimal separator (2320.1 km)
2) Use that filtered value to populate a text field called distance
Populate hidden form element value with the value of a text field on form submit (jQuery)
It helped me a bit with the auto-populate part, but I can't make it work in combination with this Google Maps code. Here is my current code:
<head> ... <script type="text/javascript"> function submitMyForm(){
I want to populate the right text box with the result of the drop down multiplied by the left text box. I'm able to do this already but with only one set. I want to be able to have multiple rows.
Here is the code I currently am using for the single.
i have a form with a 'name', 'date', 'type', 'style', 'color' and 'result' field.let's say the user inputs "jones" in the name field, "8/1/2011" in the date field, "new" in the type field, and 'modern' in the style field.i want the 'result' field to take a look at the 'name' field, and if the 'name' field has a particular text, let's say (in this case) "jones", the javascript code will then place the contents of 'date', 'type' and 'style' fields, along with hardwired text like "the information you are looking for is 'date', 'type' and 'style'" into the 'result' field.
I have a page where a user can enter info into a text box named (usertext). Below the box I have a link that takes the user to another page.
This page is just a test page for proof of concept.
I am wondering if there is a way that I can dynamically populate a variable located within the url of my link. The info that will populate the variable will be whatever the user types into the text box.
For example my link will be <a href="nextpage.cfm?textvariable='#usertext#'> So when the user clicks this link, it goes to the next page already populated by the value of the info the user typed into the text box. I am thinking javascript will be involved, but I am not really sure.
I have these two pages which I want to link...the index.html is the main page. I want the list.html page to pop up when names is clicked..Then I want to be able to select all or some of the name from the list.html page and inset into the textbox on the index.html page, separated by commas with the list.html closing on insert. hope my ambition is clear enough...
how to get a drop down box to populate using a value from a text box with out a page refresh.
I can get a value from a drop down box to populate another drop down box, but can't quite figure out how to get text value to populate a drop down menu.
[URL] Refer to the link, using the sample, I'm able to use php ajax to populate 1 text box which I've already pre-define (not using "echo '<input type='text'..") -- the info came from a table
e.g. Search: [jo ] Name: [John doe] sql --- select name from customer where name like '%jo%'; [Code]...
Actually this is the same like the pop-up calendar but the only difference is I don't want numbers, I need a list of options so user can choose and when they select, it will transfer to the textbox right away like the calendar. I have a form and trying to use a pop-up window to select an option then transfer the option selected to show on the textbox. I have 10 textboxes and all of them has a "Select" button to pop-up the option list. BTW, the "SELECT" button will populate the same option list.
Here is my html code: <select id="droplist" name="droplist" size="1" > <option>Click to select...</option> <?php foreach ($designation_list as $descode => $prompt) : ?> <option <?php echo helper_selected($prompt == $form['droplist']); ?> value="<?php echo $prompt; ?>" style="width:500"><?php safeEcho($prompt); ?> </option> <?php endforeach; ?> </select>
Below is array: <?php $designation_list = array( "00111" =>"Aloha of the Pacific/Transfer Assistance Program for High Income Students", "71122" =>"Aloha", "71231" =>"Free Housing Information", "71232" => "Drama Queen and King", "98765" => "Aloha Boy Home of the Land", "12345" => "Aloha Home", ); I wanted to use the option list over and over again for the 10 textboxes. Is that possible?
Below is my sample code but didn't work. //javascript var testpopup5 = new PopupWindow("testdiv5"); testpopup5.offsetX=-20; testpopup5.offsetY=20; testpopup5.autoHide(); var testpopup5input=null; ..... I get this code from somewhere else but it doesn't work on me.
I have a client who wants to automatically send coupons that are selected by the customer on this page. Now, this will be handled by a mailing list software but it was suggested by the support team that the input fields (labeled coupon#_#) could be populated by using Javascript. There are 3 coupons and here's how have them structured:
What i want to know is how to read the value stored in an array to a textbox though I have a second array which is contianed in dropdowns with a for loop iterating
ie item and price arrays
So i want it if item [position] then price [position] is called to the textbox how do i do this so that it iterates through the values using a for loop as i am meant to iterate through and not hardcode in values.
I have 5 Numeric fields in my from, I am using onkeyup to check for numeric values only, now I have a total field also. I would like to have a sum of the values entered in the 5 fields to be shown automatically on this total field.
I'm quite a newbie at Javascript. I have a calculation form with 3 textboxes and the answer label. It's to calculate wire mesh and the first two textboxes can be the same value. What i want to do is use javascript to automatically populate the 2nd textbox with whatever the user enters into the first. Then if needed the user can change the value in that 2nd textbox.
What I want to happen is that when I select the date through the drop down menus for day, month and year, I want the semester textbox to automatically fill in the semester depending on the date chosen. E.g. If the user chose the date 23rd June 2012 from the drop down menus, then the semester textbox below should automatically be filled in with the semester 'Summer'.
Below is the dates and semester: 1st September - 30th November = Autumn 1st December - 28th February = Winter 1st March - 31st May = Spring 1st June - 30th August = Summer
How can I use JQuery to, when clicking a row of data in a table, take that row (consisting of three columns) and populate three different input fields with it?
Using this creates the dropdown box though I want to take Code: var service = new Array(); //log book services available service[0] = "12 month log book service"; service[1] = "18 month log book service"; service[2] = "24 month log book service"; service[3] = "30 month log book service"; service[4] = "36 month log book service"; service[5] = "Other minor service"; service[6] = "Other major service";
var price = new Array(); //prices log book services available price[0] = "255"; price[1] = "285"; price[2] = "530"; price[3] = "255"; price[4] = "285"; price[5] = "285"; price[6] = "540";
This is to show the expected data at this point in time though I may add or remove elements so I want the code to be flexible a= ie iterative so I want to have the dropdown element checked and compare the position of service to get the associated price though they are in two seperate arrays and cannot be changed. Basically I would like to use a if selected value the price at that position is entered into the textbox which is readonly. How would I go about this and I cannot use tools such as jquery to do this. Is there a way to set the select value to the array position on price or something as I have never had to compare two arrays or print a selected value to a textbox.
