is it possible via Javascript to search certain websites with certain keywords without having to use specific search engines?
example search only the following:
1. www.yyy.com
2. www.aaa.com
3. www.zzz.com
for the keyword "Laminat" and open the sites accordingly.

I use:
<noscript>
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="1; URL=../nojs.html">
</noscript>
to detect if a user doesn't have javascript enabled with they hit pages that require javascript. The problem is that search engines follow this, so the content for my javascript pages show up as my "javascript is not enabled" page.
If I add <meta name="robots" content="index,nofollow"> to the noscript block, will that solve my problem, or is there a recommended way to do this?

I'm creating different pages on a website for each branch in the country for a business. The way the user gets to their branch is through a dreamweaver generated jump menu.My question is: Will search engine robots crawl the pages that are linked via the jump menu?So for example the page for the London branch can only be navigated to via the jump menu (or typing in the url in the address bar). Will a search engine index this page?The jump menu script is below:
<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
function MM_jumpMenuGo(objId,targ,restore){ //v9.0

A long time ago when I used a browser that didn't support the shift or
unshift methods of the array object, I came up with an implementation of
queues that guaranteed amortised constant time dequeuing by only moving
elements in the array when the 'space' at the front of the array was as
long as the queue it represented. In modern Javascript it would look like
this: Code:

I've been struggling with the following:
In Internet Explorer you can dynamically change the src attribute of a script tag - and the new src will be read and parsed.
In Gecko browsers - the same is not true:
var oR = document.getElementById('something');
alert(oR); // Check we have an object - in case Javascript console misses the error
oR.src = 'test.js'
test.js would have a simple alert in it... nothing!
So I tried the following:
var scr = document.createElement('SCRIPT');
scr.language="Javascript";
scr.type="text/javascript";
scr.src ="cat.js";
document.body.appendChild(src);
Still nothing...
I tried setting the src after adding the child, nothing.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to achieve this - short of opening a new page in a new window and document.writing it to that, and letting that refer to it's parent... ( just change top to self.opener) ?

I have a search field on the website, and when I type a word to search, it search good, but after preforming the search, the search term from search text field disappears and become the default 'Search' word.
How can I make search term stay in search field after preforming a search ? For example, when I type into the search field 'JavaScript' I want that term to stay in search field and after the search is done.

Say I have script that looks a bit like this:
Array.prototype.getValue = function(ind, dir) {
if (dir !=0) ind[ind.length-1] += dir;
// more script
}
screens = [...// a big array
fnd = [1,2,3];
// 1.
a = findStart(fnd);
// 2.
b = findEnd(fnd);
findStart = function(cs) {
return screens.getValue(cs, 1);
}
findEnd = function(cs) {
return screens.getValue(cs, -1)
}
As I go from 1. to 2. the value of fnd changes. I don't understand how a
locally scoped variable might be affecting a global one.

I don't know how to select an element inside other elements, like div's. I have my html site like this:
<div id="container">
<div id="top"><h3>Title</h3</div>
<div class="desc">
Lorem Ipsum dolor set...
</div></div>
<div id="container">
<div id="top"><h3>Title</h3</div>
<div class="desc">
Lorem Ipsum dolor set...
</div></div>...so on...
I want to click on any h3-tag and the jquery should open the next div with class desc. At the moment I use this script:
$(document).ready(function(){
$('.desc').hide();
$('h3').click(function() {
$(this).next('.desc').toggle(400);
return false;
});
});
I absolutly dont know what to change inside the script to affect the next div with class desc.

I need a JavaScript script to only affect a certain section of my page. Is it possible that I could put that part of my page in a DIV or a FRAME to get this to work? How would I do this?
Here is my script:
As you can see, that would choose a random link from my entire page. If I want to make it choose from a section of my page, what would I do? (there are a lot of links on this page, and I don't want to assign number to each and every one of them, and then choose a random number)

I have a form that is validated using the DOM. If a user attempts to submit this form before completing all required fields the fields turn red. The only drawback to this is the reading the text in the fields can become difficult. One thing I was hoping to do was to have the text associated with each form element turn red insteadof the field.
Each form element's text is enclosed in a <label> tag and I figure setting that tag's font color to red would be easy enough to do...if I knew how to reference it. That's the thing, I'm not sure how to reference it.

is there a way using .htaccess or some other means that we can block certain websites from appearing when we do a google search of my wife's name? We contacted google and they denied our request to have these websites blocked. My wife has her own website she uses for her business. There was an .htaccess editor website that I visited that created the code after I specified the url of the websites we wanted blocked. Will this work and if so, after creating the .htaccess file what do I do with it, that is where do I attach it/post it? (this is the first time i've ever posted anything on a website. my wife and I are technophobes.)

From the term "automatic login" I suppose security (password protection) is not of key importance here. The guidelines for solution could be to use a Javascript bookmark (idea borrowed form a nice game published on [M&M's DK site][URL].. The idea is to create a javascript file and store it locally. It should do the login data entering depending on current site address. Just an example using jQuery:
[Code]...
Multiply the code blocks in your script, to add more sites in the similar manner. You could even combine it with `window.open(...)` functionality to open more sites, but that may get the script inclusion more complicated.
Note: This only illustrates an idea and needs lots of further work, it's not a complete solution.
This is the code I found on stackoverflow for automatic login to websites but it does not work.
I am doing exactly as told is ther anything wrong

[code]I'd like to click FirstDrilldown and have it display div#SecondDrilldown. Then I'd like to be able to click SecondDrilldown to fire off a different click handler. The problem is that the click handler bound to the FirstDrilldown intercepts the click. I'm fairly sure I could bind and unbind the click FirstDrilldown click event but that's kind of an inelegant solution.Is there just a way to just promote the SecondDrilldown click event to have a greater precedence than the one associated with FirstDrilldown?

I would like to ask if the following is possible.
1) I have one hundred identical links on my page
2) I have a function that changes a clicked link to "display: none" (using the toggle functioon)
Is it possible for me to set it up so that only the link that is clicked (that is, only one element) gets affected? I don't want to click and have all the links disappear.. just the one that was clicked.Would this code below work in all browsers? [code] And secondly, may I ask whats the difference between $("a") and $('a'). I've seen people use single quotation makrs and double. Which is better ??

I'm developing a site in HTML 5 and SVG, just for the heck of it. I have a portion of the site that uses the <embed> tag to load a new SVG when you change pages, which, in theory, would let me do effects between pages. However, no matter what I try, there is a white flash as the new SVG is loaded into the page. So, I figured I would make the embedded area invisible until it loaded, which was no big deal. But when I tried it, the flash still happened! So, I built a pause function to wait a bit longer. It sill flashes. Anyway, 7 hours later, I've determined that the newly embedded page isn't actually being downloaded and embedded until the end of the changePage() function is reached.
Here's my java script:
var close1;
var close2;
var bar;
var svgLoaded = false;
[Code]......

Not a huge issue, more of an annoyance, but when firing
Code:
Effect.Appear('whatever');
it only works when
Code:
display:block;
is an inline style on the target element and not when it's applied via an external style sheet. Is there a fix for this or is it just a quirk of the library?

When another image is clicked on that text should slide down and cover the previous image's text.Right now the script only allows a vertical display of the images and I can't put the sliding text in a specific place.Here is the CSS
