I've ripped off some script from another site of mine that works fine which
checks an input box to see if an email address has been entered when
submitting. If it hasn't a prompt is issued asking the user to enter an
email address.
It seems to be ignoring the validation rule and just emailing the form
anyway, can anyone help? ....
I have a text input, "Pets" and a checkbox "noPetsHS"."Pets" is required except when "noPetsHS" is checked. My validation rule currently is - and does not work? Pets:{required: "#noPetsHS:checked=false", min:1}"Pets" is usually required, very few select the checkbox, but I don't want "Pets" required if they do.I can find no reference to Rules and testing for absence of check and then requiring the text input.

I'm using the jquery validate plugin. And i'm trying to add a new validation rule.
My input field has a complex name eg. name="expiry[year]". So i am selecting the field as outlined in the documentation here:[URL].. The problem, no JS errors & no validation. If i change my input name to name="expiry" it will work, but in this particular scenario this is not an option. Can anyone advise a possible solution to this issue?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a select list #technology. Due to some back end processing it's default value is "0" (Please Select) I am trying to write a validation rule to make it required. The problem I'm having is that if you hit submit when it shows "Please Select" which has the value="0" then make a different selection it's not removing the error msg. Also if you hit submit multiple times when it is showing Please Select it just keeps adding the error msg

I'm trying to create a new validation rule to check if a button has a class. I try to explain the scenario. I have a button that makes an ajax call to check the availability of a product. When the app loads the button as class "to_check", when the button is clicked an ajax call is fired, a server script return the availability of the product and basing on this answer I change the class of the button from "to_check" to "ok" or "ko". Now I want to validate the button to se if the availability is being checked and is ok, then I wrote this:
<pre>$.validator.addMethod('hasClass', function(value, element) { if($(element).hasClass(value)) {
return true;
} else {
return false
}},
jQuery.format('Please check the button'));</pre>
Now I want to add this rule to the button with the metadata plugin inside the class name with this syntax:
<pre id="line175"><span id="__firefox-tidy-id"
style="background-color: rgb(221, 221, 255);"><<span
class="start-tag">input</span><span class="attribute-name"> type</span>=<span

class="attribute-value">"verifica_disponibilita" </span><span

I wrote this function to be a change event applied to a checkbox. Now it is apparent I need to use it as a custom validator method, so it runs when you hit "Next" to step through the form. I have all that working, I just can't get the syntax of the rule right.
Here it is as a change event:
$(
'#MKDPT'
).change(
function(){
if(
$(
'#MKDPT'
).is(
':checked'
)){
var
checked
=
false
; .....
And my attempt at a custom validation rule:
$

validator
.
addMethod (
"MKDPTOnly" ,
function (

I have tried several versions, but none is letting the form go to the next step (return true) if the conditions are met.

Question: Is there a possible way to create a js function that will change a web page template and have the duration change every 4 months? This means that all pages corresponding to the template being used will change with the template?
I have 4 page designs and would like to implement the different designs every 4 months but would like to create a script that will automatically do this instead of having to manually go in and change every page to match the template desired.
I have designed a template for a script in html and planning to sell it, but i am too concerned with piracy because i need money urgently for my further studies and piracy will ruin it,
So is there anyway you can suggest from protecting it?
The 1 way i have in mind is the first time the template loads it send the domain name using the template to my site and automatically placing a php file in another directory so that if i find the user malicious (using the pirated copy) i can disable the template and request him to buy a legitimate copy.
And can that javascript be divided into parts? like 1 part in header another in body and so on, so that it is hard to find the code.
I know there is no 100% full proof way of securing but having done little from our side can also help us avoid few pirate's .
I need to know how to create an web template in Javascript or may be what is the simple way to create an Web template.I don't want to use dreamWeaver or other tools.I have watched some of the webpage and they are using Javascript to create an template.

I've been searching and everything I find says that ${} should be able to handle arbitrary expressions, but there seems to be some syntax magic/intolerance going on here.
Is it possible to check if template is already compiled and in the stack? For example I need a boolean check, to decide to make ajax call for template or pick it from compiled stack.
var callback = fucntion(template){do stuff...}
var template = $.tmpl('thumbnail',data);
if(!template) {do ajax and get template, then use callback}
else{
callback(template);
}
This would be great, but it doesn't work. $.tmpl doesn't return false if template isn't compiled and in stack.
been looking for a solution to this one for a couple of days, with no luck, I downloaded an under construction template from herethat incorporates keith wood's countdown timerjquery plugin. Its a perfect template for my site. Trouble is i just can't find a way to adjust the timer. it works fine, without adjusting any of the code but it's default display reads that there's 500+ days estimated to launch. As it's for my business website i don't want people to be put off visiting again, so i wanted to adjust the timer to just a few days. (i.e estimated time of launch 3 days, 72 hrs, however many mins & secs)

I have a html template and I want to insert a deeplink tag like this
Code:
<a href='{deeplink}'>nice name</a>
Because I want an output like this:
Code:
<a href='[URL]'>nice name</a>
When I do this the output is like this:
Code:
<a href='<strong>Deeplink</strong>: <a href="[URL]" onclick="window.open(this.href,'_blank','location=1,resizable=1,status=1,scrollbars=1,toolbar=1,menubar=1');return false">[URL]</a><br />'>nice name</a>
How can I trim this code to get the results I mentioned before.
So I created a custom rule following numerous examples out on the web for a dynamic text input, but for some reason it seems to be letting spaces through even though my regexp tests out ok to not match when the value is any combination of spaces...
$.validator.addMethod("noSpace", function(value, element){
return this.optional(element) || /^[a-z0-9][a-z0-9_ ]{0,70}$/i.test(value);
}, "Please enter a name starting with either a letter or a digit.");
$('#form').validate({
rules: {

The odd thing is, it will work if you type in a space followed by a character, but if you type in one space, or one space followed by x number of spaces, it just lets it through like it's valid. But yet when I look at the demos and examples that I pulled this from, they never let those scenarios go through.
