Accessing Orig. Counter In Sorted Array?
Jul 8, 2010Okay, so I've sorted a numerical array and the minimum is at the top of the heap with [0]. How do I keep track of the original [?] so that I can access the associated parameters?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I have this array
Code:
testarray = [
["1", "test1", "test11"],
["3", "test3", "test33"],
["5", "test5", "test55"],
["2", "test2", "test22"]
];
How do I access the 2nd column of the 2nd row?
I tried:
Code:
alert(testarray[1][1]);
But it says undefined.
<script type="text/javascript">
function popsizes(colorcode) {
var BLK=new Array();
BLK = ["2XL","3XL","4XL","5XL","LG","MD","SM","XL","XS"];
elem = document.getElementById("selcolor");
for (i=0; i<elem.options.length; i++){
sizelist = colorcode[i];
document.getElementById("selsize").options[i] = new Option(sizelist);
}}
</script>
In an event, i'm passing in "BLK" as the colorcode param. This is creating my selsize select box with B, L, K, and undefined options until the for loop finishes. ie, its taking the passed in colorcode as a literal string, instead of referencing the array. Anyone have a pointer as to how i can access the arry, instead of the literal string?
In my HTML, I have several of the following:
<input type='checkbox' name='right[]' id='right[]' value=Ɔ' />
All are the same except the value is set differently for each one. The
reason for the [] is so I can access the checkbox values as an array on
the processing page (when clicking 'Submit');
However, I want my Javascript code to examine these objects first. My
onclick event handler function (below) is called (I get the 'hi there'
popup), but it does nothing afterward (i.e., neither 'checkbox' alert
appears, and the handler, strangely, seems to return 'true').
I suppose my problem is that I am not specifying the checkbox array
properly. I tried several variations, but I've been working on this
problem alone for several hours and am getting nowhere. Code:
I created an array, whose entries looks like this:
[41, "The bird flew into it's cage"]
[33, "He drew fire from Joe"]
[33, "Roger asked her her name"]

I have a certain file in my webpage that my readers can download
I want to know howmany times this file has been downlaoded
Googling for Download counters did not help
so i thought may be..may be.. if i could get the number of times the particular link has been clicked (i know this is crude)..then i can arbitarily say.. that it has been approximately been downloaded so many times..
I'm a little puzzled over the possibility of accessing an array. I've declared the previd id - in the proxy.invoke call which works just fine (we have already implemented an .each loop which also works. My problem is this - after accessing the proxy.invoke function, the previd is populated correctly with push but after the call, we cannot seem to access the previd array to make a join to a string. Here's the basics of the code.
var previd = [];
proxy.invoke("validdateIDCard", p_caregiverid,
function(validaterID) {
var valcard = validateID;
previd.push(valcard);
}, onPageError);
var finalvalue = previd.join("|"); <-- this is where the problem lies - cannot seem to read the variable...
i have a php page in which i have a listbox as below:
<select NAME="scopeid[]" id="scopeid[]" class=sel1 multiple size=4>
<? while ($qrrs=mysql_fetch_assoc($qrrid)) { ?>
<option value="<?=$qrrs['scopeid']?>" <? if($db->isinarray($scopeid,$qrrs['scopeid']) ){ print " selected "; } ?>><?=$qrrs['scopedescription']?></option>
<? } ?>
</select>
<input type="button" name="add" value="Add" class=button onclick="Add()" style="width:40">
how do i pass the values of listbox[] to javascript?
below is my javascript:
function Add() {
Obj=(document.getElementById("scopeid[]"));
alert(Obj.value);
}
alert gives me only the last selected value and not the entire values. i.e if the user has selected 2 ,3 and 4th option, it gives me value of only 4th item instead of all three. how to do it?
I only manage to access non array named form fields.

I have a form with multiple input fields and I'm trying to identify the specific input field that is in focus so that I can display a relevant status bar message.
I have a message array with various entries in it and I'm calling a showStatus() function with an onfocus function from the form itself e.g.
The code in the input form =
<input type="text" name="first" size="31" maxlength="20" class="entry" onfocus="showStatus()"/>
The showStatus() function so far is =

I'd like to access the array variable of the item that is in focus not only for the message but also for an onblur function to validate input.
im pretty new to jQuery, but familiar with JS in general. im trying to get a dom element by id to change the read only attribute. using jQuery i'm doing the following: var field = $('#name[index][index]').
but when alerting the field value, i get [object Object] and not an inputObject as i would expect.
i can use the normal getElementById and it works as I would expect. Is this a problem with jQuery?
I have an object with a member function that changes something on the objects state. This works perfectly fine in the easy case. But when I use an $.ajax call within the function it doesn't work. Here is the example code and failing QUnit tests: [URL]
View 3 Replies View RelatedIt would be nice to be able to sort plugins by the number of times voted on. I know you can see how many times it has been voted on after you go to the detail page but it would be helpful to get that info as a sort field on the "Most Popular Plugins" page because then you could tell wether a 5 star has been voted on once or a 1000 times. I personally would rather get a 3 1/2 starred plugin voted on 1000 times then a 5 star voted on once by the developer. Don't get me wrong I would vote 5 stars on my plugin too.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've used jQuery ajax and .post a lot, and several times within the very application that i'm having issues with, but I've never run into this issue before.I've got a table of items and categories, sorted by a sort number. in the same cell that the sortnum input is in, there is a span with a status id that differentiates between items and categories so i can modify the correct records in the correct database table.First, i select all of the inputs and then sort them by the value of the input. next, i loop through the inputs, creating two arrays: one array contains the type of entry, and the other contains the id of the entry.
After the loop, i join each array into its own variable, sortlist and typelist. Next, i perform a .post passing the two lists to my server.The problem is, on the server side, those two variables are getting a "[]" appended to the end of them, and since i'm working in coldfusion, the only way to get data from them is with evaluate. I can get by using evaluate(), but i'd rather not have to.So far i haven't found a way to get the value of this variable. has anyone else ran into this issue and found a solution?

I use the Tablekit library and Prototype javascript framework on firefox, chrome & IE8. The columns in this table can be sorted by the Tablekit library.

However, after adding the periodic refresh by AJAX (eventually I want to refresh only the web page when there is new data available) and <div>, then the columns in this table cannot be sorted by the Tablekit library.

I'm writing a program that involves a network of interconnected nodes (or simply objects in my example below). It depends on being able to access properties of an object's linked objects (a bit oddly worded, sorry)...Problem is I'm not sure how to properly access those properties... see below please.

I want to change the content of <TD> tag of a HTML table sorted by alphabets(A-Z) in a different HTML table using javascript?
View 2 Replies View Relatedis there any hit counter that I can use on my website, I don't want to use one of those freebie trackers. its uploaded to a remote host (ie: I'm not running a server).
is there any way of telling:
Date
Time
Browser
OS
Resolution
Country
Host Name/Web Page/Referring Link
I was checking "shortstat" - but thats for people running a server, right?
I'm trying to script a download counter that will display the total
number on the download page without server-side scripting.
Below is my very incomplete beginning. It returns no errors, but does
nothing:
<script language="JavaScript">
function addClicks() {
total = "form1.value";
form1.value = (eval(total.value) + (1));
}
</script>
<form name="form1" method="get">
<p><input type="text" name="total" maxlength="4" size="4"> <br>
<input type="button" name="addition" value="Download"
width="10"></p></form>
This simple script counts up or down with a button click, now can it be
modified so the count won't go below zero?
<form>
<input type=text name=amount size=4 value=>
<input type=button value="up"
<input type=button value="down"
</form>
Is there a way to delay a call to a page counter (ie. call to a server script from an IMG tag) for the purpose to not lock the page loading awaiting counter be displayed.
Maybe a setTimeout() launching an equivalent of "document.write", but writing in a specific DIV ? Thanks in advance for your ideas.
Actually, the counter is called (without delay) like this :
ive recieved a counter that ads up a fixed value per second starting
from 01-01-03.
This java script acts perfectly on MSwindow based system but when shown on
an UNiX-like system the script presents a negative value resp. adding up or
down. How can i correct this?
I wonder if the following is even possible :
Suppose I have a page with a set of hyperlinks on it. Each time a hyperlink
is clicked a new window is opened. What i basically want is the following :
I want a counter at the client side which increments each time the user
clicks one of those links. At the bottom of the page I'll put a button
which should be used to send the value of the counter away.
The problem is I only know server side scripting and have no idea on how to
implement such a counter on the client side. I even wonder if it's possible
to detect when a link is clicked. The links may be buttons if that would
make it easier, it's just that i don't want to reload the page each time a
link is clicked but only at the end when the button at the bottom would be
clicked.
I have what seems to
be a robust, working word counter script. I post it here to benefit
others that might want this in the future and so that if I ever lose
my copy I can come back here to find it :) Some other scripts that I
used for inspiration failed when confronted with whitespace before the
string or miscalculated when encountering linefeeds and other
non-space spaces, so I made mine better. Definition of words for this
exercise is contiguous groups of characters separated by whitespace. Code:
