Now I just need to turn the animation off that moves the description up and out of its box and I can't figure out how or know where to look. JQuery :: Removing UI Draggable RevertDuration (Animation)
Apr 30, 2009I am using jQuery UI's Draggable plugin to allow the user to drag an image from a box onto a google map to set a marker... the image they were dragging then snaps back to the box it was originally inside of. I'm running the code that updates the map using the draggable's 'dragend' event, but that callback doesn't seem to fire until the draggable has finished reverting to its original position. I've set the revertDuration to 0, 1, and other small numbers, but there seems to be a minimum duration for its animation. Is there a way to remove the animation entirely? The reason it matters is because the marker is set using the latlong the mouse is hovering over at the time of the callback, but the user can't be expected to hold their cursor exactly still for the fraction of a second it takes for the draggable to revert. I glanced through the google map API and didn't see any way of dragging something from outside the map into/onto the map.

May 18, 2009I have been doing research on parent object nodes & child nodes. I have a small problem with the code I made. What I need for it to do is depending on which link u click, it adds or deletes the node specified in the function. And the name of the div shouldnt matter as it should be used when clicking on the link <a href="javascript:addevent('divname');">Add Element</a>.
for instance:
"Add element" | "Delete element"
if u click on the add element, then it adds an element, and if u click on the delete element, then it deletes the added element.

Jan 19, 2010I have created a class array (or variable that contains an array) and am trying to add an element to the array when a new Element object is created. Thus, the line of code to add a new element to the array is within the Element object's constructor function. However, the browser just gives me an error "object expected on line 9", the line of code trying to add an element to the array.
Are arrays not functional within objects? Or, is it that the array is made as a class variable?

Adding Click Function To Custom Object?
Dec 4, 2010I'm trying to add a click function to my object. The way i have it now in bold is how I saw someone else use it, it doesn't work. I tried using jquery's bind('click') and this.div.onclick but it runs the function right away upon instantiation.
How can i get this to run only when clicked?

What happens is that a click event is being attached to the anhors after the html loaded. The handler alerts which link you clicked and should then remove all events from the anchors from the given selector (resulting in that you should not be able to fire the event again) but this doesn't happen.

Problem occures when image is clicked another time(you have to click quick to see the problem) before end of animation. I think that preventing it from being clicked would solve the problem but im not sure.

(given the following html attribute: <html xmlns:dl>). So I'm suspicious. I've tried following the code that matches the selector, but I can't do it, it's too complex for me to follow in a reasonable time.

I have created a custom button with a custom look and feel. i want the click event on this button to trigger datepicker display.

But this is merely associating the textfield datepick with datepicker, its not showing it.. rather we have to click on textfield after the button click to show the datepicker.

Cufon couldn't be used because of the large amount of text and javascript in general on the site. It should play nice on IE6 that's why i chose to use facelift(server side text to image replacement). The problem arose when i needed to show a different font on hover state. I created two elements with the same position and now i want to switch them on hover state! It's actually working but when hovering fast over the different elements the hover state's mixes up ending ugly and wrong...

I've set the animation to large numbers (1000) to make it very obvious.
The helper will show before the other fieldSets have been hidden. The show animation begins about half way through the hide animation. Since both elements are occupying the same space, this makes the container jump around in size as it breifly expands to fit one under the other.
