What I want to do is create a HTML form that allows the user to enter data into about 10 fields, and then based on the entered data, writes out data strings to a text file. I am attempting to create a form for entering simple rectangle CAD data via a HTML form, which will be written to a text file, and then imported into a CAD program.
The form would contain prompt boxes for things like length, width, radius size, step/repeat, etc. When the user hits the "SUBMIT" button, the data strings would be written out to the filename the user specified. Below is an example of data strings to be ouputted. Variables are &L, &W, &R, &STEPX, &STEPY, &XN, &YN.
is there a way to assign an event to a file input so that when a user selects a file to upload the event is triggered and i can check out the file extension? The reason why is simple, i want to perform different actions depending on the type of the file.
I want to pop up alert when the user browse file into input for example I have this input: HTML Code: <input type="file" name="myfiles" /> Now, when the user finish to browse an file I want a function to start working, what I mean by finish browse file is when the user select file and than click on the file he selected twice and than when the browsing files windows close I want this function to start.
Enough with the chit chat. What I'm trying to do is add text to a user's input. For instance, if they write "Hello", the function should automatically add "World" to the output. I'd ideally like for the output to be searched on Google (think search engine) with the results displayed on a new page.
i needed a text input so the user that will register a product, will make sure to enter the cents, and not just the raw money, making it to be stored incorrectly on my database.for example, if i type "1" the output inside the text field will be automatically "0.01", so the user HAS to type the cents.
I have an external .js file to my webpaage. Can i change the value of these variables from my htm page, so that they are changed for good.

Does anyone know if I can save part of a web page to a file on the users computer without saving the whole web page? I know I can print part of a web page using style sheets, will this work for saving also?

I have a registration form that I am working on in which I need to assign a price to each option in a selection box then write that price in the document. Then I have a radio button that will add (different amounts based on selection) to that price before it is written. Then I have another radio button that just needs to write a price based on its selection. Both of these values will be written and then totaled. (See below for a less confusing explanation)
On HTML form: >drop down list (name courseName, value of selections 1,2,3,4) > radio button (name returnStudent, value of selections 1,2)
