When I have this form loading its loading both messages when I told it to hide it and don't know why. I looked inside the source code of the form and it's not saying the jquery function is involved.
I'm new to jQuery and the validation plugin, I just wondered if it is possible to get the error messages to be shown in an error summary section instead of inline?
I would like to hide several <div> tags when the page loads, but put it on a timer so after the page is finished loading the fade in. In the meantime whilst the page is loading, a image is shown. It's for a radio player i'm working on, the page takes around 5seconds to load fully, and so thought a loading image would be better to look at than half loaded <div> tags.
I am new to using jquery and had a question about the slider that I use on my portfolio [URL]. The slider works perfectly but the one issue I have is that whilst it is loading you can see all the images that are used in it tiled vertically, overlapping the text and the rest of the site. It basically looks very ugly whilst loading so I was wondering if there is a way to hide the images whilst it loads, or if there is another alternative?
I'm using the form validation and it's working great. But the form reset button, although it clears the form fields, does not clear the errors. My page header has this code so far:
[Code]....
I'm trying to understand how to implement the following in order for the reset button to do that:
var validator = $("#myform").validate(); validator.resetForm();
I'm not an experienced JS person but have a lot of other programming experience (vb, vba, mssql, delphi).
I'm using the jQuery form validation plugin along with the fileinput plugin which hides the initial input area, but uses <divs> and some styling /javascript to show the file input field.The issue I am having, is that the 'this field is required' text that is meant to show on submission, doesn't come up for the file input field, nor some checkboxes that I have in a table. I am guessing that this is because the code is needing the label to be RIGHT next to the element (in this case the file input or the checkbox) in order for the validation message to show..Are there any work arounds that anyone knows of so that I can get the error message to show?Is there a way to show the error message for required fields when they have a div wrapping them or anything wrapping them? [code]
i am following the example ajaxSubmit[URL].... here my code[URL]... i realized that the showRequest work correctly, shown all my form submit values But it doesn't respond "showResponse(responseText, statusText, xhr, $form)" is not execute. the respond prompt is not pop up
I am trying to display validation error messages when form validation fails. Currently it does display the error messages but then disappears straight away. How can I stop the page from refreshing when validation fails? I have return false in my code when validation fails but still having same problem. Currently I have only done the validation for the full name only. The error msg is showed in:
I have implemented a site where I made a tooltip, show when mouseover an item. here is the site [url]

What I mean by this is how do you load an xml document that has been inputted as a string in a form. I would've assumed it was something like this, but this doesn't seem to be working.
<html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> function loadXML(file) {
Im not a developer but I managed to fumble together a simple website and implemented an upload form from html-form-guide.com, but i want to add a loading icon to let the user know that its actually doing something, especially for larger files.
Is it possible to get js to load a txt file in your browser (location would be file:///C:/Documents and Settings/article.txt), grab the first line and put it in a form field with id "postingTitleField"? I've been trying to figure this out but I don't see it. I tried to google it but the best I came up with is writing to a text document, and that's not what I am looking for.
I'm finding (like small syntax errors) in my JS/html which are sometimes hard to spot straight away. For example, when coding python on the web, I usually use try: except: and then use the error function to output what went wrong on the webpage.
IE browser (even IE8) is giving warning when I open a webpage with JavaScript in it. I can of course close the warning but since I am developing webpages that will be deployed and used by customers, customers will get the warning messages too. How do I design webpage that don't popup ActiveX warning message on customer browser when they open pages with JS in it?
I have a form which I need to add an ajax loading image.My question is how do I connect it to the camcheckrequired function so that if there is an error the image doesn't show?

I was wondering if it was possible to have a variable count down in a window.confirm dialog box. Like the type of message some systems have to log users out automatically.
E.g "You will be logged out in x seconds. Do you want to stay logged in. Yes No"
where the x value would count down and if they didn't press yes then they would be redirected to another page to log then out.
how can I make it hold only X amount of messages then after X amount of messages it just removes the last one.This isn't all the code but I figure it has to be something within this code that I have to change. If you want to look at the source code to go [URL] and take a look there.
//Function for initializating the page. function startChat() { //Start Recieving Messages.
I'm trying to make a prompt where if a person types in their username, according to the name it will play a hello message with their name and have their own background.
The script so far looks like this, but I'm trying to make it work.
<script language="JavaScript"> name=prompt("Please Enter Your Name""); if (name == "Ex1") { document.write("<html><head><title>Welcome " + name + "</title></head><body><EMBED src="sound1.ram"><h1>Hello, " + name + "</body></html>"); } if (name == "Ex2") { document.write("<html><head><title>Welcome " + name + "</title></head><body><EMBED src="sound2.ram"><h1>Hello, " + name + "</body></html>"); } if (name == "Ex3") { document.write("<html><head><title>Welcome " + name + "</title></head><body><EMBED src="sound2.ram"><h1>Hello, " + name + "</body></html>"); } //etc } </script>
'Error On Page' messages, IE only.. I need badly to get rid of these error messages. i'm showing my sites to potential employers. When clicking on the ! icon, the so-called 'Details Page' is too cryptic to be of help usually. the line numbers do not correspond to the JS's line numbers (i'm using BBEdit).
I am trying to fadeIn error message received from the server.Here is the code:$("#" + RowID + "> TD:nth-child(4)").append("<err class='error'>" + err.Message + "</err>").fadeIn(1000);But the fadeIn() does not seem to work, it shows the message straight away ..off courseI am missingsomethinghere, probably the append() and fadeIn() do not go hand in hand.
