When The Page Loads For The First Time Or After Refresh The Text Within The Scroller Is Black
Nov 20, 2001
When the page loads for the first time or after refresh the text within the scroller is black for a brief time and then it turns to white. I have tried changing the values but can't get it to start with white text?
The other thing is I would like to be able to have a hypertext link within the text but I tried using the normal <a href> tags but this doesn't work. Can you see a way of doing this? Code:
I have a website with a floating cart and it loads fine and works almost flawlessly . However, when a person has a bunch of items in their cart, and they want to minimize it for the rest of their browsing experience, every time a new page loads, or a refresh happens, the floating cart un-minimizes and expands out fully again displaying all the items.
This can become very annoying during the shopping experience when you have a bunch of items loading and just taking up space in the browser. Therefore, I am wondering if their is some html or script that would save the minimizing in the floating cart, and carry it over to the next page, and the rest of the browsing on site?
When the site loads it takes a while for all the scripts to load and then the images to settle down - more so in IE, naturally. I would like to display a black screen or cover everything with a div while it settles down. I have tried a few Timeout scripts but they appear to be conflicting and don't work. how I can either display a blank screen while it all settles down or just avoid the problem all together.[URL]
how can i don't allow that the picture load again i mean when i refresh my page it loads picture again how can i solve this problem that the upper part of the page will refresh the down part not. I wrote this but it doesn't work on chrome and explorer but works on firefox <div id="logo"><img src="car.jpg" alt="" /></div>
I am new to jQuery and have managed to create a tabbed interface with 4 sections. When the page loads, the tab content of section 1 shows up and the user can click on the others links to show other sections. In other words, tab 1 is always the first to be "active." However, I want to have a random "active" tab every time the page loads, so that other sections can be "active" as well randomly. Once the page loads with the random active tab, then the user can click to look at other sections.
I have done the hide/show divs using javascript. Its working fine but the problem is that at the time of page loading the hidden divs are showing first anf then disappearing. Is there any way not to show the hidden elements even if the page loads for first time
I'm using some jQuery to work with the Last.FM API, and I'm stuck where I need to allow the user to run the JSON request a second time after the page loads (it loads once automatically when the page loads, the second time is when they push a button). What happens currently, is the JSON function is fed some default data when the page loads:
You might have noticed in the JSON, I write the URL the JSON is requesting to the console every time it runs. When I click this button, a new URL pops up in the console below the first one but only for a second, and then the page reloads and the original JSON request is called. It's this loop that I can't seem to break out of - why does re-calling the JSON refresh the page?
I have a hotspot on an image that when the user moves their mouse over it makes some text appear from 0% to 100% opacity.
This function works fine, but when the page loads for the first time the text is already displayed. So Im wondering how to set the initial opacity of the text to 0% so its hidden until activated?
Heres the code I have at the moment (relevent parts in orange):
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head>
[Code]....
I guessed by adding "sampletext2=hide" to the top but this did no good!
I'd like to resize an iframe into which different (same domain) pages of differing heights are loaded. I can do a first-time resize no problem. It's the subsequent reloads that need to pass back their height to the parent page There seem to be lots of solutions for that around, but few I can see for resizing each time the iframe reloads. One is described here on another board [URL] but unfortunately the test page is no longer around (or indeed the site), so the full code is no longer available there. This one works, almost, for me: [URL] it does resize for me, but not quite sufficiently high each time - about 90% of what is required: [URL] Is there a way to add on sufficient extra margin that scrollbars no longer appear?
I wanted to know how can I check for a specific HTML tag or user defined TEXT and delete it when the page loads
Whenver the IE loads the page my company add its COMPANY NAME in my office on any page so what I want to do is to check for my company name b4 the page loads and remove the company name and then load the page.
It seems like when I load javascript code into a page, that each item I add, such as an accordian vertical navbar, image slider, etc, that each time I add one, the page loads a second or so slower with each one added. I would like some of these features, but is this just a part of life, or are there tricks to avoid the slower load time? It is not major time but after the 2 items I mentioned, it added on about 2 seconds.
I read that $(document).ready(function() might slow me down but I do not see that statement in any of my .js files.
I'm having a little problem with creating a element in internet explorer. The element that I'm creating is a div with a few style attributes to to it. The div is suppose to cover the whole page almost like a black transparent window on the page. However it is not. The messed up part about this is that it works fine in Firefox, google chrome and I'm sure other browsers (though haven't tested) and when I go to apply the div in my actual code as javascript is suppose to when you tell it create it, it works fine. No problems whatsoever.
function showPhotoUpload() { var overlay = document.createElement("div"); overlay.setAttribute("style","z-index:3; background:#111111; width:100%; height:100%;
I'm having trouble getting FireFox 2 to play nicely with a jQuery fade. Here's a paired-down example:[URL]..I've made the source code VERY basic here to make it clear what's what. When you click the link, some jQuery fades the image in and out. But it also makes all the text go thinner. Clicking away from the link then sets the text back to how it was.
Any ideas why this could be? I've googled it and although I can find people with issues around jQuery's fades, I can't seem to find a solution to this one.
I need to refresh multiple images on my site. So every time the page gets refreshed the images need to change. It worked fine with the script below, but this is only related to 1 image
I tried to copy the script and change the "ID's" but this does not do the job.
I'm working on implementing watermark in datepicker text field (JQuery V1.8.9). I have a datepicker field with watermark set (dd/mm/yyyy). Watermark text displaying in gray color. When I select a date, the text field still having the gray color instead of changing to black color. but, when i key in the date and focus out, it's working fine. Also, this is working fine in Chrome but not with Firefox. I'm not sure the exact cause...
I am using jquery as a text scroll (jcarousel) to pull recent articles from a blog. Everything works great. EXCEPT, I would like to have the links open in a new browser if possible.
Here is where I THINK the code needs to be changed?
// JavaScript Document function mycarousel_initCallback(carousel, state) { // Lock until all items are loaded. That prevents jCarousel from // setup correctly and we have to do that in the ajax callback
I would like to use jquery to load 3 images after the page has loaded. I would like to request and load one image at a time. I tried this, but the requests and loads are happening simultaneously.
I am after a simple div scroller that scrolls text up/down within a fix sized div, with two scroll buttons that can be set to hover/click, I have found a load that use it for <li> tags or images and scrolls only up by set amount, but I would like this for text etc.
I have a horizontal image scroller which I have downloaded from the following site:
[URL]
The actual scroller works fine however when I hover over the images, the alt text isn't displaying.I'm not very good with javascript, but I have set it as per the code displayed and it's just not working.
i am using an image scroller and i have it on three pages, the pages use the same header, the same css and the same basic structure.such as
table content footer
the problem is that the scroller works fine on two of the pages but does not work at all on the one page.here is what i am getting on that page
Message: 'ElementExtensions' is null or not an object Line: 1898 Char: 3 Code: 0 URI: http://www.mysite.com/lightbox_slideshow/prototype.js
Message: Object doesn't support this property or method Line: 705 Char: 41 Code: 0 URI: http://www.mysite.com/lightbox_slideshow/lightbox.js
Message: Array length must be assigned a finite positive number Line: 464 Char: 5 Code: 0 URI: http:[url]....
the only common denominator i can see is that the page it does NOT work on is in fact a photo manager page, the other two (that DO work dont deal with photos)i checked the array and the js vars and stuff are different from my photo manager vars (php) so i was thinking maybe there might be a clash of some kind accessing the queries at the same time when the page loads but i dont get any errors other than these.by the way the scroller is black not grey like the others for background.does it sound like from the errors that i am getting that it might be a db query clash of some kind.
