Adding Text To Textarea - Create An Additional Button That Will Insert Some Text - Certain Html Tags
Mar 10, 2010I am creating a small CMS module for a client. I created a little form and when they click Submit, it goes straight out into an include (.inc) file, which is connected to the web page to be displayed.
The trouble I am having is that I'd like to create an additional button that will insert some text (certain html tags to make their life easier, etc) - I got it to work, actually. The script executes and the text is inserted - but once the script runs and the page refreshes (or whatever it does), the text then disappears. The only way I can seem to get it to stay put is when I use "onmouseup" instead of "onclick" - which means that every time the user accidentally mouses over the thing, it inserts the text.

In my editor is currently a html form which saves the textarea values each time the form is submitted. I want it to save to the database everytime its changed or maybe every few seconds.

May 17, 2007I would like to create a html E-test form run on PC and the data will save into a file on disk. I search online for this function code but found that most the script only save the cookie, is it possible for javascript save form data to file? Here is the ideal for my survay form,
1. user click "start" button for the e-test,
2. user need to finish the e-test with in 20 minutes, after 20 minutes the form will auto submit and the data will save into file,
3. me will go to the file folder open it and print out the qestion and anwser.
4. The file will be detele after i print out and the next user can do the e-test again.
I got the time counter and the auto submit script. but i just have no ideal how to save the data into file.

Is this possible? The reason I want to do it is because I want users to be able to edit the text within the textarea, and copy and paste easily. Otherwise a list box would make more sense. Can't do HTML in a textarea.. though?

But,I don't want the user to right-click and choose the option "Save Picture As" or "Save Image" of the browser. Instead I want the user to click a link or button that is displayed just under the image. After clicking the link/button, the user should be able to save the image in his/her local hard disk/machine in a particular folder or just under C: or bringing up the file directory dialog box where the user can save in his/her own folder.

My textarea is at a certain width and it takes 39 characters to hit the end. At 39 characters I would like the textarea to expand an additional row.
