View 1 Replies View RelatedIn an application I have inherited I am trying to figure out how data entered into an HTM form (opened by a VB application) are saved into an ESRI shapefile. In the web page I saw that when the user clicks the `OK` button that the html page calls a JavaScript named ‘saveInventSettings`. In the MapCapture.js file I found the `saveInventSettings` function which in turn calls ` form_data.save ("Invent_Settings")`.
The only reference to form_data I could find was in the HTML file: <div id="form_data" class = "userdata"> Code:

View 14 Replies View RelatedI want to be able to do is to have a button that when the user clicks on it, it will open a "save as" dialog box so they can save a file (a separate file, not the html one that they are looking at) from my server. Is this really not possible using javascript, or am I just completely confused again?

I have a gridview in a form that contains a Save ImageButton. I would like to create a Client-side CustomValidator that checks whether the grid is empty or not. I am using ASP.net and javascript. Presently I have a link on the web page, which opens an image....if the user wants to save it , he has to right click the image and then save it. But,I don't want the user to right-click and choose the option "Save Picture As" or "Save Image" of the browser. Instead I want the user to click a link or button that is displayed just under the image. After clicking the link/button, the user should be able to save the image in his/her local hard disk/machine in a particular folder or just under C: or bringing up the file directory dialog box where the user can save in his/her own folder.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have it set up so that there are three frames (frames and the use of javascript are encourage for practice) "bar" on the left with navigational options, "main" in the center where the body of the drill is presented, and "feedback" along the bottom where the feedback will appear.
My issue is that I have everything working except the form! I'm not sure how to make it so that upon clicking the submit button the feedback is presented in the "feedback" frame. This was suggested to me but isn't working, maybe I have a mistake somewhere? Or is there another way I can do this?

Using a UI dialog I'd like to load in 10 or so images. Each would be unique and after you click on one the following needs to happen:
1. Image appears on the parent page in a specified ID.
2. A "hidden" field is updated so that when the user submits the db is updated with their selection.
3. Dialog closes automatically.
That's it. Basically it would work similar to "datepicker".I'm using the latest 1.4 and ui and been making great progress as learning basics. I need to do the above and it seems like such a no brainier and or it should already exist but after 2 days of searching and trial and error...
In my site I show low quality pictures. When someone right clicks an
image and selects 'Save Picture As...', I wish to let him save the
high quality picture.
When you right click on a link you get the option to save target as...(ie) and save link as...(netscape). Is there some JavaScript to call this function like the JavaScript to open a new window?

I have a webpage with addition questions for numeracy training. I am storing the sums in a table(id="sums"), with an empty textbox(id=ans1) for the user to type the answer. After the user types an answer and moves onto the next Q, I want to activate a popup dispaying if the answer is correct or not. I am tackling this with onmouseout. The script checks the answer, then displays a confirm message if correct or and alert message if wrong. The onmouseout is not working
Code:
input type="text" name="ans1" size="1" maxlength="2" id="ans1" onmouseout="checkAns1();"
Code:
function checkAns1(){
if(document.sums.ans1.value==(document.sums.Q1R1.value + document.sums.Q1R2.value)){
var confirm("correct");

I'm working on implementing an unobtrusive javascript where I use code instead of an HTML hook to call a function.
Old way: <input type="text" name="username" onBlur="javascript:function();" />
Now I have changed it to:
window.onload = function()
{
if(document.getElementById("username"))
{
var usernameInput = document.getElementById("username");
usernameInput.onblur = checkUsername('username','ajaxResponse');
}
}
which is placed in the body section of the page. Anyhow, my problem is that it works fine, but only once, right as the page loads. I have tried removing window.onload, but then it doesn't work at all. How can I get this to work every time I blur from the text field?
