JQuery :: Submit And Reloading Form Values After Submit Button Is Clicked?

Jul 13, 2011

In the following .submit function, I am attempting to grab the value of the selected option in the facilityCodes dropdown list when I click the submit button and then during the submit function,select the facilityCode again in the dropdown list when the page reloads and then disable the list so that the user cannot change it.However,the situation is when I reload the page after the submit button is clicked the dropdown defaults to the first option and the list is enabled.I apparently am not understanding how.submit works so that I'm selecting the option I'm defining in my code below and then disabling the list AFTER the page reloads due to an error on the page. My question is how can I accomplish this?Here is my code:

$(function() {
$("#ARTransferForm").submit(function() {
var msgsCount = 0;[code]....

HTML Form - User Select To Set Two Values?

Jul 4, 2005

I need to use Javascript or similar to do this, but not certain. I want to set up a form in HTML to sell photo prints. I'd like the user to be able to select a print size (eg 4x6 or 5x8 or 7x9) and as a result, two values are set:

1. the print size in text (eg Ɗ" x 6" print')
2. the price of the print (eg $5.00)

How do I code my form so that two values are set at once, and if the user changes their mind (eg selects 5x8), the two values are set again.

Updated Values Not Sent With Form Submit

Dec 6, 2010

Before I submit the form with JS I update an input field with js like this:

Code:

The problem is that the updated value is not sent along with the post data. Instead the old value is sent along.

When i submit the form with a button afterwards though (not auto submit after the value is set), then the value is sent along fine.

But that's not how I want it to work...how I can send the value that I'm setting with JS along with the post data like this?

Clearing Default Form Values On Submit

Oct 8, 2010

I've read a few solutions to this, but none seem to fit what I'd like to do. I'm quite new to JavaScript, so I'm trying to learn various solutions to problems and also what can and can't be done.

What I'd like to know is can you, on submit, check all the form values on a page, or indeed within a specific form on a page, for their default values, and if any still have their default values as the text within that box, clear that value.

So using some generic form values as an example, if I had a form that had three text fields Name, Email, and Phone, all by default populated by their respective names, if someone changed the value of Name to "Adenv" but left the other two, on submit the script would change the values to:

With *blank* indicating a blank field. Is this possible?

Link Via Dropdown On Submit, Yet Pass Form Values?

I am using a script so that a url selected from a dropdown is given control using the window.location method. This depends on the onsbumit definition attached to the action statement. All that works well. However, I have other checkboxes etc. on the form, and their values are no longer submitted when I used this onsubmit function. Is there a way I can get them to work... Here is the script and the form:

JQuery :: Accessing The Submitted Values On The Form .submit Event?

Jan 25, 2010

I have a form which has a few submit buttons, all named SubmitButton so I can pass the clicked button's value through to the submission processor and then act according to which button is pressed. However on the jquery form submit even, I also want to check certain things before I fire the submission off. As the button isn't a "conventional" input I can't check the document object to see which one was clicked, so I need to check the form contents that are about to be submitted, can I do this from the submission event or will I have to bind to each button individually?

JQuery :: Whenever A User Submit The Form In The #loginForm Div, The Page Refresh And The Main Div Return Invisible?

Jun 7, 2010

i've a div that contains a form, each of these elements have their own id; the structure is something like this

<div class="art-Block-body">
<div class="art-BlockHeader">
<div class="art-header-tag-icon">[code].....

I'd want that: at the first user's click on the #register div, the div #registerForm become visible, it should remains visible also when the user click the submit button within and it should disappear if the user click a second time on the #register.I partially solved my problems with this:

$(document).ready(function(){
$("#registerForm").css("display","none");
$("#register").toggle(function(){[code]....

but i can't resolve the submit issue: whenever a user submit the form in the #loginForm div, the page refresh and the main div return invisible.

Ajax ::Submit Inputs Values Using Normal Button / How To Keep And Clear Values

Apr 15, 2010

In part of my form, I have 3 inputs (one textarea and two text inputs),I am validating their value format using AJAX (each input triggers error message on its label in case format is wrong). Also I have one button, "NOT submit button" (type = button).Now, when clicking on the button it must enter the value of those three inputs in my database in case they are true then all inputs values must be cleared. In case AJAX validation is wrong and in case the user clicked on that button, the value of fields must kept as it is.

Actually I can not use submit button because I have it for the whole form and what I am taking about is a part of the form and it's not possible to make nested forms as I know it violates html rules. It's easy to make it if I am taking about submitting button as I can view session values on fields after submission in case ajax returns error.I can clear inputs from Javascript, but it will be cleared on both cases if AJAX validation true or wrong. Each input field has AJAX Error message that will be triggered when the input format is wrong.

JQuery :: Disable Submit Button On Form Submit?

Jan 31, 2008

I have a page with many forms that I need to change from a post to an ajax call. That part is working, no problem, but now I want to disable the submit button while it's waiting on the server response and then re-enable it when the response comes back.

Here's what I have:

$(function() {
$('form').each(function() {
$(this).submit(function(){

[code]...

I can't figure out what my selector should be to get the submit button of the form that's being submitted. What should I be using instead? Also, if the call errors out, I'd like to just post the form as usual.

What I need is to be able to disable this form's submit capability on page load and then reenable it at some later point. Remember there is no 'input' button element.

Code:
What I've tried so far is like this:
savedSubmit = document.inputs.submit;
document.inputs.submit = None;
then later:
document.inputs.submit = savedSubmit;

but this does not work. How can I do this?

Lettings An User Add New Values To An Array?

Apr 9, 2011

I'm creating a calculator. This calculator has a memory function in it. When people inserted a value in the calculator then the user can save this value with button "M+". When the user wants to use this value again he can simply paste it into the calculator with button "MR".

This works fine, however I'm working on a function that will remember the different memory value when a user clicks on the button. So if the memorized value is 5, and the user will click the button "ATA" (add to array) it will create the value "5" into an array (which will be the value of array[0]. When the user remembers a other memory value, lets say 9, and clicks on the button "ATA" again it will create the value "9" into the same array (which will be the value of array[1]).

My current method doesn't seem to work, it only saves the first value.

// ATA
function saveAta() {
var saved = new Array();
saved.push(m); // variable m is from the function of M+
}

Got the complte script running here: [URL]

I have seen some fancy ways to prevent multiple clicks..... but a number of my cgi's eat up several seconds before they can respond and I would like to keep my user out of trouble.

Whatever it is. it has to be non-modal and not involve nph headers (my webserver does not support them).
