I am having trouble with a form submiting when the enter button is pressed in a text field causing it to submit.
Basically there is a text field and a button and when I click on the button it calls a function that does a a few things that need to happen before submiting. I submit the form in the function.
How can I prevent hitting enter on the text field submit the form. If I could do this then I could call a function onkeyup to check for the enter button being pressed and call the other function to submit the form.
I have a simple form that works via a suggested results system [URL]
While in firefox the go button is greyed out and enter doesn't submit the form in IE pressing the enter key submits the form.
Is there any way with a bit of javascript to stop IE from doing a form submission on enter but only for this form (since there are many more on the site)
I have a form setup so that when you enter something in a text field and click a button it checks to see if the value entered in the text field is the "correct" letter and if its right it changes the CSS property of a div container to be shown which then has a link to a the next question. So I don't really have a submit button because my form isn't setup to work with one.only problem is when you enter a letter and click enter it acts as a submit and the submit does nothing, which is what it's suppose to do.So what I'm asking is how can I get that button to respond to an enter instead of the default submit taking over the enter key?
My form isn't returning any results when submitting the form if the user hits the <spacebar> or the <enter> key on the keyboard when tabbed over the image submit button.
I have run into a problem with something that should be simple. I want to submit a form programmatically using .submit(). It's a fairly standard simple form, four text inputs and three radio buttons, nothing at all unusual.:
I have now a form inside a form which of course doesn't work. I need to have a way of getting specific field data without posting till the whole form is done.
For example,
the form contains several items but a specific section for part quantities allows the user to enter the quantity and then click on the "Add Part Nums" button to get a form in a popup that has entries for part numbers based on what the quantity was in the first form.
I have this part working perfectly but it's a form inside a form so it only works when I comment out the outer form tags.
Is there a way to submit the quantities fields only and get the pop up and then later submit the entire form? A way to do this without having a form tag for the inner part?
I have this ajax login plugin. If login ok, reload the document, else diaplay an error message above the login form. It works fine, execpt if hit keyboard enter button instead of click the submit button, it has no response. How to make the default keyboard enter button work?
I have built search form that it retrieves information from database. for ex: when i click axtar (search) button it retrieves normally but when i click ENTER button via keyboard instead of axtar (search) button but it only displays results with white blank page
So I have an order form which gets all validated with fields, checkboxes, radiobuttons and so on...after submiting I would like to show pictures related to what was order/picked...as of right now when I click sumbit it just shows no "error message/validation errors" since the information is just correctly entered but I would now like to go to another page? clear current page and basically show images...say my radiobuttons was car selection with options bmw, audi, lexus ect...now after submiting a new page loads ontop? showing a picture of the brand selected? how would I go abouts doing this?
Script to prevent browsers pop up E-mail privacy warning when submiting a form
A very basic form has been employed :
<form name=formulario action="mailto:ron_wolpa@hotmail.com" method=post enctype="text/plain"> form contents ......</form>;
(I don´t domine cgi- bin nor php , and even I if did it some servers where I host my files do not support both , that´s the reason action is a simple mailto: )
It works fine but as visitor press button "SUBMIT" , browsers like IE and Netscape pops up a privacy warning screen notifying visitor that his email will be disclosed ;
a 2nd pop up demands another click confirmation to send the information collected by the form ;
What I have in mind is a script to do the following :
1- to submit the form just by clicking submit button once
2- as visitor press on submit button , will be directed to another html document where will receive the usual thanks and the confirmation message ;
I find it necessary because as the basic form is above the message is sent and the form fields are not cleared , not giving the visitor any confirmation ;
I have a number of pages that organize book data by category and then by unit, chapter, section, etc... Since there is a ton of data I display the headings and hide the rest of the content for the category. When a user clicks the heading then the content for the heading is shown underneath it. This works great and the users don't have to scroll (at least not much in comparison to if everything on the page was visible) unless for some reason they expand tons of stuff.
The problem:My company wants it so that if they expand a bunch of stuff and then browse to another page, that when they click the back button, everything should still be expanded as they left it. The issue is, this content is only available to logged in users and is based on their current location (which they can change at any point), so if their session expires or they logout, using the back button to get to these pages needs to redirect them to the login screen, if they change pages and change their location, going back to this page needs to display the correct content for their location. It is kind of a catch-22. Of course in the eyes of my company "shouldn't it just work that way?"
I've got a <div> inside a <form> which I show/hide when a user clicks on a show/hide link. That div holds several form options which I DON'T want to submit with the form when the div is hidden.
At the moment, even when my div is hidden, the values within it are still being submitted with the form.
Is it possible to / how do I - hide the div so any values enclosed in it do NOT get submitted along with the form?
I basically need, when the enter button is pressed on the keyboard to trigger a button. Currently, my code works but it just refreshes the page and does not actually trigger the desired button:
//HERES MY CUSTOM BUTTON: <BUTTON TYPE="submit" onMouseOver="goLite(this.name)"
I have PHP form application used to by Sales reps to Enter information about customers but I want to prevent Sales reps from entering same information because of web form behavior after they want to add new customer ? is their away in using Jquery to clear the form for new entry ??
I want html regular button is triggered with an enter key. That means, when the user press ENTER key, it will trigger the event in html regular button. I tried the following code, and I realized submit button is triggered with an enter key. But not html regular button. Any workarounds?
i want to integrate a Enter button with my following script...Rite now the script makes the user type in their password then click out side of the box for it the check the password and let the users in...And if they try to press enter it clears the password. Want it so the users can press enter and it can check the password and so the users can click enter to check the password and let them into the protected page...
<SCRIPT Language = "JavaScript">
function passwordOK(anystring) { anystring = anystring.toUpperCase()
I have link but the link was made by <a href=javascript:run()> How can I make it run when enter will be pressed. How can I set default Enter button to run my run() function.
I am currently working on SAP Adobe Interactive forms. I want to know what are the events for Keyboard ENTER Button [i.e. when i press ENTER Button event should get called..]? Any sample code is available? I am going to call SAP Web Service through it
I have a form with a bunch of selects and a single text input.Form data is sent via $.post whenever the inputs are changed, so a submit button isn't needed. The form does contain one regular button (using the button tag, not the input tag). The button shows a jQuery UI dialog when clicked.
If you press the enter key in the text field, the browser submits the form but it also acts like you clicked the button (the dialog appears). That makes no sense to me. Why is this happening and how can I stop it?I've already tried adding a few things to the form's submit handler, but they don't make a difference.
