Oct 21, 2011I have a form with 4 radio buttons, the scenario is, when a user click on a radio button a hidden content will be displayed and the other three radio buttons will be disabled so that at one time a user can only click and view single radio button and the hidden content.Here is my code to show hide the hidden content but i need when the user select one radio button the other radio buttons should disable.

In Opera, whenever someone presses the <enterbutton, the form is
submitted and the onsubmit does not event get any attention. When the
submit button is clicked, it obviously works.
Disable Submit Form On Enter Key Press?
Mar 31, 2010Wondering if there's a better way than what I'm doing to disable that when a user presses Enter, the form is submitted.
I'm catching the enter key onkeydown events. And it works fine on input boxes but I noticed that if a user selects something on a drop down menu and presses the enter key, the form is also submitted. As far as I know drop downs don't have an onkeypress event.
Is there a way to cancel form submission when the Enter key is pressed? Or any ideas how to catch this event on a drop down?

Feb 18, 2009working on a project at the minute but have dug a hole in javascript for myself on this one. The objective was to use cookies to save a form whilst a file was being upload at the same time on the same page.To get the filename for the uploading mp3 file inserted into the user current form which then is posted on submit to a directory where its viewable for download, the page must refresh and a query string is used to put the uploaded files name into the form.What i wanted though was the user to be able to write out there tracklist whilst there file was being uploaded so they can make the most of the time and do 2 things at once.Getting round this was ok using cookies to remember the forms input values and restoring them once the page had refreshed.
The problem is thought the cookie script will only write once to file if the text box that gets updated with a new value being the uploaded file value changes,to get round this i wanted to disable the radio button that saves the form upon change of the default value of the mirror1_url text input as the upload session is complete and the user would not need to recall the cookies values.a working version with the above problem can be found here http://urban-love.co.uk/uploads/userupload.phpim sure its only a few lines of script you can see I have implemented one in the page already see view source but it takes no effect in this form for some reason?

May 10, 2009I have javasctipt,radio buttons, and textfield in default my textfield is disabled, and when any of radio buttons was click it is disabled also, but when the radio button of the textfield is click it will enable, it works fine and submit the correct data. When I went back to that page the radio button of the text field was checked (ok its fine because it has value) but it didnt show the value of the text field, and it is disabled. Oct 28, 2010I have a form setup so that when you enter something in a text field and click a button it checks to see if the value entered in the text field is the "correct" letter and if its right it changes the CSS property of a div container to be shown which then has a link to a the next question. So I don't really have a submit button because my form isn't setup to work with one.only problem is when you enter a letter and click enter it acts as a submit and the submit does nothing, which is what it's suppose to do.So what I'm asking is how can I get that button to respond to an enter instead of the default submit taking over the enter key?

Stopping Form Submiting With Enter Button
Jun 9, 2006I am having trouble with a form submiting when the enter button is pressed in a text field causing it to submit.
Basically there is a text field and a button and when I click on the button it calls a function that does a a few things that need to happen before submiting. I submit the form in the function.
How can I prevent hitting enter on the text field submit the form. If I could do this then I could call a function onkeyup to check for the enter button being pressed and call the other function to submit the form.

But enough to cause double clicking. So now the button needs to be enabled once Text is put in the Form Field.

Jul 13, 2010I am trying to produce a web form to allow wedding guests to RSVP. The form allows them to enter a name and select from a radio button whether they will be attending or not. If they select the "yes" radio button then a further pair of radio buttons are displayed for their meal preference.
They can then click a submit button or they can click another button to add another line for another guest which operates in exactly the same way. I've almost got this working, but it seems that the checkbox change handler is lost for the current guest when a new guest is added and the checkbox value is reset. I've got a feeling I'm doing something stupid but can't for the life of me figure out what.

The text that will go into the text area is a URL. the search button is disabled if there are spaces in the query, or if the field is blank, else the button is enabled. The problem I'm having may or may not be to do with my script. The HTML is set to 'onKeyUp' and 'onBlur' to run the function. now, it works fine, unless the user uses the mouse to copy and paste a URL into the text area. the button remains disabled until the user focuses out of the text area then back in. if ctrl+v is used, then the function works.

And based on what radio button they select, I need to pass that variable to a div (at least that's what I want to use) and then show a list of videos that match the radio buttons value.
