I remember a while back there was an article published on here explaining how to make the pop up footer that appears on the site with an advert for a book in it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI need a java bookmarklet that does a real simple thing. I need to take the current URL (ie, where the user is when they click the bookmarklet) and append it to a static URL and return the text on the resulting page.For example:
The user is at http:[url]....
The user clicks the bookmarklet.
the bookmarklet takes http:[url].... and appends it to http:[url]... HERE where you see the URL HERE text.That PHP script echos a simple line of text (a shortened URL actually).Then I want that result from the outside_create.php file to be displayed in a window back to the user.Is this even possible? Basically I need to know how to append location.href to a static URL and how to get the resulting content from the static URL..
i need code for social insurance number validation.

It grows out from the corner upon hover as well. [URL] I'm thinking it's ShareBar but I don't see anything like it on the ShareBar site.

highlight text in javascript, only problem is he wants it to be on divs
only.
So say for example you have a page, and you select some text in the div
(this is static text, not a form or anything) and you click "highlight"
is there a way to wrap style tags around that highlighted text using
javascript, without refreshing the page?
I have a javascript file that contains methods and the structure to form a popout menu. Then I have another javascript file that uses those methods/structure etc. to build a specific menu with all it's links, titles, etc. To have the menu created on my html page I link to the two .js files and put window.onLoad = writeMenus();
in between script tags that creates the menu right when the user gets to the page. My problem is, since the menu is created when the window loads, it's static. So when I resize my window, the menu won't resize. In my .js files I have the positions of the menu based on screen.width/# so they aren't set values. I think my problem is with using the .onload. It loads the menu once at the beginning but doesn't know to redo it when the window resizes.

I'm trying to learn JavaScript on my own and am using a Dashcode example (if anybody uses Dashcode, the example is the "Browser" web application template that is shown when Dashcode opens).
Briefly, the JavaScript generates a list of "Locations" in the USA:
Code JavaScript:
// Sample data. Some applications may have static data like this, but most will want to use information fetched remotely via XMLHttpRequest.
var parks = [

I want to retain the layout and structure but, depending on the "Location" have different text for each of the new pages (not "the scenery is amazing etc).
I am working on a website where I need to keep the navigation on the left and the header on top of the page the same across every single webpage, that way if I need to make a change I don't need to go into the code of 75 html files.
My server doesn't support PHP
I have created a table , it seems to be,
~ Table's head part (table headings) will be static , and
rest of part (rest of the rows) can be scrolled vertically at the
right.
It is done through CSS .
* (CSS) Code which i used for this is
classname { top:
expression(document.getElementById("tbl-container").scrollTop-2) , and
it is for verticall scroll.
I want to know know the case for below
~ now my senario is
In a new table
First COLUMN should be static , and remaining column
should scrolled vertically at the bottom.
Currently I was able to load remote JSON (php) file using JSONP protocol. However, how to do if my remote file is static? In the doc, it said: you can load JSON data located on another domain if you specify a JSONP callback, which can be done like so: "myurl?callback=?". But since my remote file is a static text file, how can I specify the callback in the output dynamically? In fact, I also wonder if it is possible to control the random callback name by modifying jquery source code...

Currently, if you are typing, or enter anything in the input box it will say you are typing, and if u delete it, the message dissapears.. is there a way where if you're not typing at all it can say "You entered text" or something? maybe a way to time when the last key was pressed?

I am a newbie to Java Script. I am trying to convert a Flash Website back to an HTML, JS and PHP website. Naturally they want the site to look the same if possible. In the Flash version they have a contact section which has two choices: Phone or Email Below these choices is an Graphic Image ( by default the image for contacting by phone is showing ) If one clicks the E-mail choice then this default image, then spins around and changes to the E-mail contact image. It's like the Phone and Email Text options are hyperlinks which activate the image rollover. But after the image rollsover, then to actually send and email inquiry you have to click on this new Email Graphic Image. It's kind of a spinning rollover / mouse over affect.
Except after the rollover the image is now static and one can click on the Email Address to affect the Website Inquiry Email Window. Yeah, I know its overkill, why not just click on the link, but it's not my choice, the client wants it that way. He designed it for free on Wix now finds it does not work on iPhone, etc. Is it possible to implement this in Java Script?

I need the input value of a textbox to be mixed of static and varaible data, Example:
<script type="text/javascript">
As you can see I use the "." dots for the splitting of the string and I pre-insert them into the "Value" of the textbox, but is it possible to do this without them being deletable or even better, have it so that for every number added the script inserts a dot?
can a web parser differentiate between static and dynamic text on a webpage? for example there is a string on a webpage Hello "Fantastic Four"In this "Hello" is a static data and "Fantastic Four" is a dynamic data (say being populated form a database value)Is it possible for web parser to detect whcih is a static and dynamic content?

Am struggling with speed on my site getting a overall grade of F from Yslow..
I read that moving JS into the footer can help this.. how would i go about it? I found a plugin that was supposed to do this but I don't think it works with wordpress 9 cause am still getting a F for Javascript
I have a problem: I have to have a footer at the very bottom and I have to have minimal, maximal width options as well. That employs two javasripts. however, the problem is with the footer. The script puts it on the very bottom even so that you can't see it in IE.
You can to scroll down to see it. So, i minimized the height of footer so that it shows up in IE. However, again, there is blank space at the very bottom. Any suggestions how to fix it? I'm no good in JavaScript at all.
I'm using a script to display a floating menu. I don't know how to set an offset for the footer so that it does not go all the way to the bottom. I'd like a 100px margin to the bottom of the screen. Here's my code:
