I am working on a website where I need to keep the navigation on the left and the header on top of the page the same across every single webpage, that way if I need to make a change I don't need to go into the code of 75 html files.
What I'm trying to do is create a static nav at the top of the page and when the user clicks a link, they are not brought to a new page but the page slides vertically upwards to the new page. I found this link which kind of helps but need helptrying to make sense of it all.
I need a java bookmarklet that does a real simple thing. I need to take the current URL (ie, where the user is when they click the bookmarklet) and append it to a static URL and return the text on the resulting page.For example:
The user is at http:[url]....
The user clicks the bookmarklet.
the bookmarklet takes http:[url].... and appends it to http:[url]... HERE where you see the URL HERE text.That PHP script echos a simple line of text (a shortened URL actually).Then I want that result from the outside_create.php file to be displayed in a window back to the user.Is this even possible? Basically I need to know how to append location.href to a static URL and how to get the resulting content from the static URL..
I am working on a website that uses a random header. I have been trying to figure out how to adjust the code so that the header also serves as a clickable link.
Here is the code that I have:
What do I need to add in order for the header to also serve as a link? I am completely new to JavaScript and I don't understand it very well.
I'm trying to implement a minimal navigation bar using jQuery's toggleClass() function but can't seem to get it working.
It's the .img_selector div at the bottom of the page:[url]
I want to toggle the 'active' class for each <a> when it's selected, to indicate which image is showing, so after calling jQuery, in the <head> I've got:
Then the links, which also include the showPic function:
I am not terribly familiar with Javascript but i am looking forward to learning, and currently the problem I am facing is this:I have an a file being included to an .shtml document, that serves as my navigation, the code is like this:
<div> </div><div>I did some navigation menu and sub menu using jquery ,</div><div> </div><div>like ;</div><div> </div><div>Menu1 </div><div> Sub menu1(some.php)</div><div> Sub menu2(some1.php)</div><div>
I'm trying to write an application to demonstrate to a friend how to highlight text in javascript, only problem is he wants it to be on divs only.
So say for example you have a page, and you select some text in the div (this is static text, not a form or anything) and you click "highlight" is there a way to wrap style tags around that highlighted text using javascript, without refreshing the page?
I have a javascript file that contains methods and the structure to form a popout menu. Then I have another javascript file that uses those methods/structure etc. to build a specific menu with all it's links, titles, etc. To have the menu created on my html page I link to the two .js files and put window.onLoad = writeMenus();
in between script tags that creates the menu right when the user gets to the page. My problem is, since the menu is created when the window loads, it's static. So when I resize my window, the menu won't resize. In my .js files I have the positions of the menu based on screen.width/# so they aren't set values. I think my problem is with using the .onload. It loads the menu once at the beginning but doesn't know to redo it when the window resizes.
as an example,when you enter in a username, a static string of "Your [URL]has the USERNAME replaced with what you are typing in.This is day one of JQ for me. I was looking at the onkeyup event in JS in general, but I figure it is time for me to learn JQ.I am pretty sure I am going to
<script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ // something fancy here
I'm trying to learn JavaScript on my own and am using a Dashcode example (if anybody uses Dashcode, the example is the "Browser" web application template that is shown when Dashcode opens).
Briefly, the JavaScript generates a list of "Locations" in the USA:
Code JavaScript: // Sample data. Some applications may have static data like this, but most will want to use information fetched remotely via XMLHttpRequest. var parks = [
[Code]....
I want to retain the layout and structure but, depending on the "Location" have different text for each of the new pages (not "the scenery is amazing etc).
~ Table's head part (table headings) will be static , and rest of part (rest of the rows) can be scrolled vertically at the right. It is done through CSS .
* (CSS) Code which i used for this is classname { top: expression(document.getElementById("tbl-container").scrollTop-2) , and it is for verticall scroll.
I want to know know the case for below ~ now my senario is In a new table First COLUMN should be static , and remaining column should scrolled vertically at the bottom.
Currently I was able to load remote JSON (php) file using JSONP protocol. However, how to do if my remote file is static? In the doc, it said: you can load JSON data located on another domain if you specify a JSONP callback, which can be done like so: "myurl?callback=?". But since my remote file is a static text file, how can I specify the callback in the output dynamically? In fact, I also wonder if it is possible to control the random callback name by modifying jquery source code...
I would like to create a table using static data. This is not a updatable data table, or anything fancy. I am must wanting to replace a table crated with <table> tags with some sort of DHTML div tags so that I can do more with the table.
Im trying to find a static way to see if someones typing, entered text etc... Currently, if you are typing, or enter anything in the input box it will say you are typing, and if u delete it, the message dissapears.. is there a way where if you're not typing at all it can say "You entered text" or something? maybe a way to time when the last key was pressed?
I am a newbie to Java Script. I am trying to convert a Flash Website back to an HTML, JS and PHP website. Naturally they want the site to look the same if possible. In the Flash version they have a contact section which has two choices: Phone or Email Below these choices is an Graphic Image ( by default the image for contacting by phone is showing ) If one clicks the E-mail choice then this default image, then spins around and changes to the E-mail contact image. It's like the Phone and Email Text options are hyperlinks which activate the image rollover. But after the image rollsover, then to actually send and email inquiry you have to click on this new Email Graphic Image. It's kind of a spinning rollover / mouse over affect.
Except after the rollover the image is now static and one can click on the Email Address to affect the Website Inquiry Email Window. Yeah, I know its overkill, why not just click on the link, but it's not my choice, the client wants it that way. He designed it for free on Wix now finds it does not work on iPhone, etc. Is it possible to implement this in Java Script?
Here is a script I found which works well for randomly selecting a static image when loading/refreshing a page, and allows captions for the images. I need this to also have the images link to other pages. I lack the javascript ability to do so.
Code:
<!DOCTYPE -don't forget to use one of these! <head> <title></title>
I need the input value of a textbox to be mixed of static and varaible data, Example:
<script type="text/javascript">
As you can see I use the "." dots for the splitting of the string and I pre-insert them into the "Value" of the textbox, but is it possible to do this without them being deletable or even better, have it so that for every number added the script inserts a dot?
can a web parser differentiate between static and dynamic text on a webpage? for example there is a string on a webpage Hello "Fantastic Four"In this "Hello" is a static data and "Fantastic Four" is a dynamic data (say being populated form a database value)Is it possible for web parser to detect whcih is a static and dynamic content?
$.get('filename.html', function(data) { $('.class_name',data).html(); //returns the HTML of .class_name inside of filename.html });
but it didn't quite work. It loads the entire web page into the defined class name rather than loading a specific content (Look below for further understanding)The filename.html which has content tag names like "[Copyright Year] that goes in the footer position of the site gets dynamically generated.I've created another static page help.html that has pretty much the same content overall except the dynamic content won't get loaded with the content tag (the system doesn't allow static pages to load them). This is what brought me to this solution. So now that I've added a class name to the indicated class that I want to load it pulls all the content and styling of the site rather than just the dynamically generated content of (filename.html) .
<div class="adp_footer">[Copyright Footer]</div> <---- Doesn't get loaded when I used any of the above mention jquery strings,
I've recently been following the object-oriented techiques discussed here and have been testing them for use in a web application. There is problem that I'd like to discuss with you experts.
I would like to produce Javascript classes that can be "subclassed" with certain behaviors defined at subclass time. There are plenty of ways to do this through prototyping and other techniques, but these behaviors need to be static and protected. By protected this means that they can be overridden (or reassigned) in subclasses, and privileged subclass methods can access them, but callers external to the class cannot.
I've been attempting to define a factory function that transfers its parameters to an anonymous object while defining the constructor in a -with- block. (This is what I'm loosely referring to as "subclassing" - it's really object composition.) This works, but not for externally-defined functions. They can't see the protected static members....
