What I'm trying to do is create a static nav at the top of the page and when the user clicks a link, they are not brought to a new page but the page slides vertically upwards to the new page. I found this link which kind of helps but need helptrying to make sense of it all.
I am working on a website where I need to keep the navigation on the left and the header on top of the page the same across every single webpage, that way if I need to make a change I don't need to go into the code of 75 html files.
I need to implement a timeline whereby the user can scroll through the different years i.e 1981 -> 2009. I need to use the jQuery slider but the timeline must be vertical in slider not horizontal as per most of the examples out there i.e [URL]. Any example of a working vertical jQuery slider. The timeline is just going to be in a div and will be text mainly text.
i have been coding on this vertical sliding navigation quite a while. its tested on all relevant browsers and works like a dream. id loved to show you an example of it, but the site is under development, and i, as a little coder, am not allowed to grant access to it, additionally i do not have enough time to create a testcase for everybody to see. to give you a short insight:
the site is quite long (vertically) and we wanted a small navigation (very subtle) to follow the user when scrolling. the problem was: the footer is quite long too, and we didnt want the sliding navigation to reach into it, when scrolling down the footer. in other words: i had to stop the animation when the sliding nav reached the end of the main content.so far so good, i had NO idea how to tell the animation to stop at certain conditions, other than telling it that from the start.
my solution is totally workaround and completely selfmade. but i am SURE that there is some kind of "stop animation when condition is met"-command i was totally overlooking. so please dear jquery community: tell me what i am doing wrong, and how i could improve this function.
i'm using the 1.7.2/Slider and i'm quite pleased with it. The only thing that bothers me is how to change the direction of the slider when in vertical orientation. The default values are: min at bottom, max at top, but I want to reverse that, so the slider always starts from top to bottom. I tryed different things like modifying the code in ui.slider.js, but it didn't seem to work.
I came across this awesome image slider: Thumbnails Navigation Gallery with jQuery. The problem is ..you have to click on "best shots" to see the thumbnail navigation... 1) How do you show this thumbnail navigation straight away on loading the page? (ie "best shots" and other list items dont need to be there) 2) and get the thumbnails show near the bottom of the page? 3) and also get the next image to fade in automatically say after 5 seconds, without having to click on a thumbnail, although one can?
I have an horizontal menu, but the menu items all are in image format.when mouseover on it, it display another color means it is in active state.(this is also an image of another color to differentiate active or not). Now i want to add vertical sub-menu of diff levels to the already existed menu(i.e original menu is of image format). Is it possible to add the sub-menu items to the image menu? if possible, i want the solution for it.
In this first example, the top padding for the first page is set to 0. Everything works well until the home button is clicked:
In the second example, the first page has the a padding of 260px, same as all other sections (the header is also 260 px). When the page loads, there is a 260px gap between the header and the first section. Once any button is clicked, everything is works fine. Even if the page is refresh, it works fine.
I have been playing around with this for hours and I cannot figure out how to set everything right.
I need a java bookmarklet that does a real simple thing. I need to take the current URL (ie, where the user is when they click the bookmarklet) and append it to a static URL and return the text on the resulting page. For example:
The user is at http:[url]....
The user clicks the bookmarklet.
the bookmarklet takes http:[url].... and appends it to http:[url]... HERE where you see the URL HERE text. That PHP script echos a simple line of text (a shortened URL actually). Then I want that result from the outside_create.php file to be displayed in a window back to the user.Is this even possible? Basically I need to know how to append location.href to a static URL and how to get the resulting content from the static URL..
I get the navigation disappeared with the nested slider. A workish on line example[URL].. try to click on design and than on the menu below. I don't know which way to turn The script is based on [URL]...
I have a form with two slider on it so the user can select an amount. The slider works fine and passes the values to email ok etc. but when the page is loaded there is "[object Object]" in box of the second slider. I can't find the problem with the code as it is the same for the first slider.
I have to change the slider color depending on its value, but I didn't manage to do it, I changed the attribute "background" of the class "ui-slider-range" this way : $("#slider.ui-slider-range").css("background","red"); Since I have three states (red, orange and green) I have to use three sliders, each one has one color, all hidden at the beginning then I show the appropriate slider when the value changes.
I've got the following problem: I have a Jquery slider and I want to disable the click on the slider. I only want to change the slider when I click and drag the pointer. Standard you can also click everywhere on the slider and the pointer will go to that point. That I don't want. .
I have a php code that creates a select combo box depending on some values stored in a database and I am trying to make it look nicer I found the jquery slider I found this but it does not work in the environment I am working (joomla) well, it does but it disappears as soon as I move the slider. so if I had

as an example, when you enter in a username, a static string of "Your [URL]has the USERNAME replaced with what you are typing in.This is day one of JQ for me. I was looking at the onkeyup event in JS in general, but I figure it is time for me to learn JQ.I am pretty sure I am going to
Currently I was able to load remote JSON (php) file using JSONP protocol. However, how to do if my remote file is static? In the doc, it said: you can load JSON data located on another domain if you specify a JSONP callback, which can be done like so: "myurl?callback=?". But since my remote file is a static text file, how can I specify the callback in the output dynamically? In fact, I also wonder if it is possible to control the random callback name by modifying jquery source code...
