View 1 RepliesI am creating a form in which a checkbox is checked based on specific info from previous page.The info I am passing is the client ID (which is a number I can pass in the URL variable)In the form I have a list of clients (with checkboxes next to them)Now if you come from a specific client page the checkbox with the client name should be already checked since you are getting info regarding that client, with the option of selecting other clients..So how I get a specific checkbox checked based on a specific variable?

var rinksAndPriceArray = new Array();
rinksAndPriceArray[0] = new Array();
rinksAndPriceArray[1] = new Array();
i've figured that out so far.
now, i want to be able to access a part of one of the arrays based on a variable that is passed into the function
the variable i'll send in will be the first part of the array ex: rinksAndPriceArray[0][0] and i'll want to return the rinksAndPriceArray[0][1] value.

Field set 1 has 4 selects, for selects 1-3 I wish to show fieldset 2 and hide fieldset 3, and for select 4 i wish to hide fieldset 2 and only show fieldset 3
They all currently have fieldset ids:
fieldset 1 id = choice
fieldset 2 id = server
fieldset 3 id = forum
fieldset 1 currently looks like this:
<fieldset id="choice">

So I am trying to make a form that will eventually take the user to a specified link. It is a form that uses drop down menus. I based this off of someone elses code (with permission :)), but it shows everything <= user input. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make it only show only one of the next options.here is the JS code:
<script language="JavaScript">
function ShowMenu(num, menu, max)

I'm trying to selectively hide and show divs based on what a user specifies using three select boxes in a form. I'm probably missing something obvious, but here's what I've got and it doesn't, work, they divs just stay hidden.

<head>

I'm trying to get the two followup questions underneath the checkbox to show up only if someone places a check there, but for some reason the way I've got it set up now it's simply hiding the area I want to show up altogether, and the checkbox has no effect on it.
Rather than waste tons of space pasting it here, here's the pastebin: [url]
Alternatively here is the live version:[url]
I'd prefer to have the form collapse when the additional questions are hidden, though if i can get this working at all.
I am setting up a contact form, and want to have a drop down box with a handful of options. Clicking one option should display fields to input username & password, whereas all others will not. So far, I've tried and (replacing 'none with 'block' for the option that is supposed to show the input fields) but neither does what I need it to. I'm fairly new to javascript, just muddling my way through with the aid of tutorials.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to show/hide a simple piece of text and a text field on a
form based on what choice is made from a drop down box.
<select name="dropdown" size="1">
<option selected value="">Please make a selection</option>
<option value="1">Choice 1</option>
<option value="2">Choice 2</option>
<option value="3">Choice 3</option>
<option value="4">Other</option>
</select>
i.e. if Choice 2 is selected I'd like to display a new <tr> with the
following:
<tr>
<td>New text field:</td>
<td><input name="newField" type="text size="20"></td>
</tr>
if any other choices are made, I don't want to display anything.
I've tried several onchange() functions but can't achieve what I'm
looking for.
Using jQuery, the hide show part is easy. I need to show or hide a single section of a form based on the value of a select box. More specifically, if the select box is one of 30 countries, then show, else hide.
What's the easiest way to handle this?
I have a set of radio buttons on my pricing page:
And a corresponding text_field input element div I'd like to display based on which radio button the user selects:
When the page loads, I'd like to see:
When the user clicks on a (different) radio button, or clicks one for the first time, I'd like whichever div is currently showing to be hidden, and the newly selected one to be shown.
Right now I have jQuery code at the bottom of my page that looks like this:
For each of the four options.
When the page loads, the correct div is shown, and when I select a new button, the new div is shown, but the already showing one isn't hidden.
I've read some posts that suggest using change() instead of click(), but others indicate that's problematic in IE.
The code below is the relevant part to an autosuggest feature. The variable that isn't being passed is "firstValidIndex". It is being set appropriately, but when it is used in "sortArray()", its value is 0.
// here we must check to see if where the string matched was at the beginning of a string inside this.aNames
// firstValidIndex is the first index where the char is at the beginning of a string

The JavaScript below behaves erratically - sometimes the timing is perfect, at other times it show 20 mins has passed when only 6 has in reallity - quite some gain - I'm baffled!

Im using a jQuery script to show/hide a div based based on the selection made via a dropdown.
<script type="text/javascript" src="jquery-1.3.2.min.js"></script>
The problem im having is that the value used in the dropdown lists are price values eg 10.00
Consequently jQuery seems to interprit these as css notations, meaning the code doesnt work.
I have some forms whose ID's are dynamically created via PHP by including a variable called "invno" as shown here:
<form name="formEditInvoice<?php echo $invno ?>" id="formEditInvoice<?php echo $invno ?>" method="post" action="javascript: SubmitEditedInvoice(<?php echo $invno ?>);" onsubmit="javascript: return ValidateForm(this);">
As you can see in the "action" attribute, I'm calling this function:
function SubmitEditedInvoice(invno) {
$.post('output.php?mode=6&invno=' + invno, $('#formEditInvoice' + invno).serialize(),
function(output){[code]....
The problem I'm having is that no data is passed to the PHP back end. I have verified that the variable invno is correctly passed to the javascript function, and have tested my .serialize() by using a hard-coded form ID, but I still get no data passed through.
how <textarea> data may be passed in a hidden form field or in a cookie ? is needed any encoding ? in javascript ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am writing a Javascript to sort and write out some stuff. PHP is not an option so I need to get this script working.
The problem arises when I want to make a link to the next page. (i.e. Like the link in google for the next 10 results)
I have <a href=# onclick=FUNCTION(VALUES)> written dynamically by the script.
It is written onto the document correctly, but the problem is, when the link is clicked, some seemingly random values are passed to the function.
I also have an invalid character error that arises when I pass the "whereVARquoted" variable into my function (code 2) which disappears when the variable is removed (code 1).
My code is below:
Code 1:
<script>
Code 2:

I am looking for a TimePicker that will prevent users form selecting times that have already passed, is this possible?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI would like to show a Div based on the URL.
I'm using PHP to update a database and the page just refreshes when it's done. I'd like to set the URL to something like [URL]
So if the URL had ud=y in it, it would show a div with a specific ID.
Can anyone tell me how I can check to see if a checkbox has actually been checked or not? The code I need to use this in basically gets data from a form which has alot of dropdowns and a checkbox in it. The function builds a query based on the values it finds in these variables. I was trying to check to see if the checkbox was selected and if so assign a value to another var but I can't seem to get it to work.
The checkbox is called pics.
if (pics.checked) {
var photos = "Yes";
}
else {
var photos = "No";

I have 5 divs, and I want to have each of them visible seperately on a certain weekday. In pseudo-code:
if today=monday, show div "bla1"
if today=tuesday, show div "bla2"
etc.
"bla2" should not be visible if it's monday, etc.
I've struggled with trying to bend existing scripts to this purpose but I can't get it working.
I have an xml file that I'm parsing with a set of items and their features. Some of the items don't have certain features so, so I would like to remove the divs in which they're results are displayed if they don't have them. I've tried using the remove function, but it either doesn't work or removes the div from all of the items rather than just those missing that feature.
This is the xml structure I'm using for each item [code]...
Say for instance that the card feature for a few items in my xml file is empty or is listed as "n/a", how would I remove the div tag with the "card" id for only those items missing that feature?

function setmodule2() {
if(module_2.checked == true) {module2.value == "M2";}
else{idf_form.module2.value == "M1"}
