I'm intermediate at PHP but new to AJAX. Please tell me what I"m doing wrong. I am trying to make a simple page that gives a random number every time you click. Instead, I get the same number over and over. I guess you have to timestamp the GET file, but I don't know how?

I have a function below where every time a question is submitted, it will add a new row in the table with a textbox which allows numbers entry only. My question is that I don't know how to code these features in this function:
I want the text box to be between 0 and 100, so if text box contains a number which is above 100, it will automatically change the number to the maximum number which is 100.
Does any one know how to code this in my function below in javascript:

I'm hacking on a LISP interpreter in JS [1], and running into trouble with numbers and Number objects.
This is what I have:

Instead of replacing the *Number object* b with the *number* 2, I'd like to assign 2 to the value of the Number object, which should still be referenced by b *and* a. In other words, the two last lines should output "true" and "2".

I have a JavaScript function for swapping the values of rows in a table. I have a hidden field in each row to carry a record ID. As I switch the rows the function will update the hidden field but doesn't do it correctly if I switch a number of rows. I dynamically set the values to switch when the page loads but how can I change these values when the rows are moved.The idea is to change the order of a recordset by clicking on an up or down arrow and then save the values on the record id and sort order, the two hidden fields in each row.

What I want to do which I can't achieve is that I want the functionality of the Option Type, Number of Answers and Answer buttons within each row to match the functionality on top. The problem is that under the "Answer" column within the new row it does not allow the user to select a button and the textbox under the "Number of Answers" button doesn't do anything but just display a number within the textbox.
Step 1: Open the fiddle and you see an options and answers section on top. Open the grid and select option 8. Buttons A to H would appear.
Step 2: Type in 2 in the Number of Answers Textbox.
Step 3: Select buttons A and D, you will find out that those buttons would turn green to show they are selected. Now as you entered in 2 in the Number of answers textbox (step 2), it won't let you select more than 2 buttons, if you do an alert would apear stating you are beyond limit please deselect a button to choose another button.
Step 4. Click "Add Question", a new row is added in the table.
Step 5: In the new row you just created, lets say that oh no I made a mistake, there should be 4 answers not 2 answers and within the table row you just added you changed the number of answers textbox from 2 to 4. My question is how can I get it so that it allows the user to select the buttons (turn buttons green) and deselect (turn buttons white) under the "Answer" column within in the row and that if the user has selected 4 buttons but tries to select a 5th button, it will come up with same error as in Step 3?
I have a function that does some calculations and populates some text fields with the results. I also have a function that changes the font color of the numbers to red if they are less than zero. What I dont have is a way to make them work together. I imagine I need to pass the results of the calculation function to the change color function, but not sure how to go about doing that. When an ahref is clicked on a certain function is called. This function is called select_cresc(). The function works only on the else branch.When the Pret crescator a href is white it should be made grey when clicked on, but it does not work. How can this function only work on the else branch and not on the if branch, I just cannot figure it out.[code]So when i clicked the ahref once it sould be made white. When i click it again it should be made gray again. This last part does not work.

I think the problem is I'm putting the new url using

(page can be :7080/index.html or similar)
in FF the operation document.url = newurl; does nothing, the same in IE goes to the page.
Other idea for going to a page formatted in js? ?self.url? one variable that works in all browser?
or different variables for each browser and code to differentiate?
I have a form that collects information about up to 5 items. I would
like the user to be able to select from a drop down menu how many items
for which they want to compare information, and then have the form
change the number of input fields accordingly.
In other words, if the user selects enter info for 3 items, then input
fields for only 3 items are shown, if they change it to 4 items, then a
fourth column shows up in the table with the appropriate input fields.

I'm having a bit of an issue with the site I'm building at the moment. It's currently under [url] with the CSS at [url] and the relevant jQuery file at [url] If you're using Firefox or Chrome you'll see that upon clicking the tabs, the image and text all changes. However in Internet Explorer the text doesn't change, it merely adds onto itself (This will be a lot clearer if you check it out on the site.)

I have a set of checkboxes that trigger events on a page. Clicking a checkbox triggers the event correctly and the checked attribute changes in the page source, but in the rendered browser view the checkbox status remains changed. If I load the page with the checkboxes checked, they always remain checked in the browser view. If I load the page with checkboxes unchecked, they always remain unchecked in the browser view.
If I remove the jquery code the checkboxes work as expected, but obviously don't trigger any events. I've tested this in both Safari and Firefox with the same results.

On another note, I'm having problems with the back button when using the forum. If I am looking through a multi-page search and click on a topic and then click the back button, I go to the first page of the search instead of the last page I was looking at. Similarly, when I first previewed this post and clicked "back" I was returned to the topic list instead of the compose-post page.

I've created a checkbox and radio button replacement plugin (URL...), and I'm trying to be as thorough as possible.One situation that I have yet to solve is if a button is given the attribute checked="checked" through some external function. I'm not sure of how to detect this event so that the replacement image is also updated. The .change() method only works when the user actually clicks on the button.The reason I am trying to work this out is because I am adding support for disabled buttons as well. From what I've seen, there are plenty of situations where a button is disabled until a user either selects something else, or fills in required info, etc., and then it is enabled (most likely through the removal of disabled= 'disabled '). If the developer has already worked that in, I don't want the implementation of my plugin to affect that. It should just work automatically.I do check the states on page load, but i'm not running any sort of loop to constantly look for changes.

I was planning on posting some elements on a page's div and one of them allows for mutiple things going on at once, as in allows for someone to have more than one of something. And since i don't think that it'll be working right if i try to pull it from 1+ items with the same name it'd just show the last one? Or is it that PHP would show them as a list... either way it's seeming that .attr() doesn't allow for a name change for some odd reason. And i was wondering if there was any function to allow for this to be changed easily written within jquery.

Well instead of having to type good or moderate every-time to correlate with the numbers, I want to find a way the category can automatically default correctly when I put in just the number. When I used toFixed() method on a number, I thought that this method round a number to a specified approximation, but I got a surprising result, the number became string! 15.23689.toFixed(2) ==> "15.24". So does it convert the number into string?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to figure out how to make a random number I can plug into a script count down from that number at certain times of the day until it reaches 0. I would like it to reset itself at midnight every day. I'm trying to make it work with a script I found on here that resets itself at midnight every day. So instead of it counting down too fast, it would count down to the next number after a randomly generated number of minutes until it reaches 0. But it wouldn't necessarily have to end at 0 at midnight. It could go from 845 to 323 at the end of the day at a slower pace. Is that possible?
