I was wondering if it is possible to put all the non null variables of an array into a string variable with spaces between each array value? For example, if array() is a text array and has 10 values, array(0) through array(9), with three of those values null, let's say array(3), array(5), and array(7) are null, is there a way to put the remaining seven values into a string variable with spaces between each array value?
I need some help putting the factors of a number (y) into an array.For example if y = 20: [1, 2, 4, 5, 10, 20]Once I have this, I can use it to factor a quadratic:(ax = c)(bx = d)if c = 3 and d = 5 then I could check if 1c was a decimal, if 20d was a decimal and then vice versa.Basically, I can use these numbers to see if b or d is a whole number and if it isn't, try the next one.If none of them are, then I can do y(ax + c)(bx + d)
I have been tearing my hair out with this for the past 12 or so hours and am no closer to a solution than when I began.
I have a jquery function to dynamically create <li> tags for an unordered list:
$(function() { var idealist = $('#idealist'); $('.checklist').click(function(event){ item = '';
[Code].....
This is working fine. The problem is I need to somehow pull the ids from each <li> tag into a string or an array that can be made available somehow to php code for further processing. I can create the string or array within my jquery function but can't figure out how to make that available to php.
the following block of code is for demonstrative purposes only:
for (x=0;x<=2;x++) { game + x = "Game "+x; }
Okay so looking at that you can probably get the feeling for what I want to do. why I want to do this, as obviously the above code makes no sense and can be done with arrays, but I assure you I have a purpose for doing what I want to do.
The question is, can I put a variable, like x, into a new variable's name? The idea is that the code above generates three new variables:
game0 game1 game2
I've tried using brackets and parentheses, I've tries so many things. I've even tried using the eval() function.
So, again, in short, can I place a variable into another variable's name?
I want to load an html div in a variable, modify it in another variable; and then change the document injecting the contents.
1. I load the html to be changed in a variable (code) 2. I modify an attribute of <param> using attr() and I put the result in a var (newcode) 3. I change the html in the doc
I've used the debugger, and all steps give the expected results, except of newcode.html(), which is a null string. Why?
Is there a way to load the contents returned from a URL into a JavaScript variable? Suppose a user picks an option from a popup list. I want to pass that choice in a URL to a script on a server that runs a query on a database. The value is returned from the URL and is populated in a JavaScript variable. Code:
I need to read a files contents to an array so that i can check which lines of the file i need to write back. im not very good with arrays and haven't had any luck so far.
I have the variable myNumber in a javascript script.myNumber contains the digit 44 in it. I can print myNumber in many ways (alert, document.write..) but I do not want to do this, I do not want to see 44 in a browser, I need 44 written in the source code so my parser can pick it up.
The problem: myNumber is a dynamic variable, its value changes, that's why I cannot write it down like this: var myNumber="44";
I am working on a project involving the Google Maps api. I have an application that spits out a text file with lat/lng coordinates plus some other info. I'm trying to figure out how to get the data from the local text file into a javascript array that can then be used by the Google Map api to create the map.
Any suggestions on how to go about doing this? I'm fairly certain that there is not a way to do it just with Javascript, but I thought I would ask. If not, any suggestions on how to do it, perhaps with xmlhttprequest and a PHP script? I don't need the text file to actually be saved on the web server, but if that's the only option then I can go that route.
If I have one main html file that calls an external JS file that contains only an array (infoArray), know I can do this code...
Now the question... Instead of 2 different main.html files, to load the different inforArray.js files, can I somehow overwrite the contents of the infoArray AFTER the information has been loaded from the first external JS file?
I have seen code that adds elements to the <head> section as the page loads, is there something similar to load/change array information during or after page load?
Or is this something that should be done by having text information in the file and loading with ajax and processing to an array afterward?
I need to build a regular expression where the expression contents are variable.
for example I have a string that i need to search for, but the string can change. If i have a variable called string I need to look at the contents of string otherwise
I want to get javascript to show or hide a row in a table depending on whether a value is held by a variable collected in a mulitple part formmail. If only 1 adult fills in their name on the earlier form there is no need to show the row which asks him to agree to membership on a later form page. This is what Ive got so far<form name="frm3" method="post" action="bookingscript.php">
I'm looking for javascript to analyze the contents of a textbox and replace the contents with the appropriate date. To make that a little clearer, if the user types 'tomorrow' then when they tab/move onto the next text box the 'tomorrow' text should be replaced with the date for tomorrow in the format dd/mm/yyyy, if the user enters '1 week' then the text should be replaced with the date in one week in the format dd/mm/yyyy etc.
I am currently struck with getting this part working, basically, the results is a variable which has :
var results = obj.selectNodes('Search');
if(results) { var array = new Array(results.length);
for(i=0; i <= results.length; i++) { var name = getNodeName(results[i]); array[i] = { 'name':name}; } results = array; }
In this , the results initially has 5 nodes and i create an array of length of results.length and assign the name . however at the end during the assignment of the array to results it stores the length as 6 where in there are only 5 nodes . the 6th one is null i.e no node exists please tell me why am i getting 6 instead of 5 nodes after going thru the for loop . before the for loop the results has the correct number of nodes as required.
I'm trying to compare an array to a variable and see if it has the same value then output the second part of the array:
<script language="javascript"> var photoCaptionID0 = "13006"; var photoCaptionID1 = "24018"; var photoCaptionID2 = "13002";
[Code]....
So using this example. If any of the first section in the array captionID (24001, 13001, etc) has the same value as photoCaptionID0, then print the second part of captionID (Item 1, Item 2, etc).
