Preventing Input Change (Hidden Field Values)
Oct 31, 2009On my site people are able to change hidden input fields values into one of their own. I don't know how they do it but how do you prevent it?

I have a list of products where they have minimum quantities in a hidden input. Some products have multiple colours, though the same minimum quantity and I'm trying to implement a jQuery check that entries made are at least equal to the minimum.
Blank or '0' entries are fine but if it's below the minimum quantity it should set to the minimum.
HTML:
Is there something obviously wrong with this? It isn't performing the minimum check and I'm really not sure why.
Is it possible to copy the value of a visible input field to a hidden input field?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen you select multiple <div> get the value of each one and save in separate hidden fields accordingly.
What needs to happen is. Click div 1 --> if hidden field1 value is "none", save there, else check hidden field 2 if that's "none" save in hidden field 2
Click div 2 --> if hidden field1 value is "none", save there, else check hidden field 2 if that's "none" save in hidden field 2 Here's what I've come up with so far (currently I'm using JQuery)
The problem with this is that no matter what div I click in which order it only updates the 1st hidden field :(
[Code]...
here's the code that I've written that doesn't work,what I want to do..
HTML Code:
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
//function that should populate the hidden field
[code]....
Code:
var $id = new Array();
$('#gallery li').children(':input').each( function() {
$id = $('#gallery li').children(':input').val();
console.log($id);
There are 4 li items as above and I want the value from each hidden input field. At the moment I am getting 4 identical values, 1, 1 ,1 and 1.Does anyone know how to get them and what I am doing wrong. I really need them in an array. It's probably simple but I've just been looking at it for too long
I have a script where I move randomly users from one multiple selectfield to another and that part works perfectly, but...
When I want to submit the form I don't get any users passed along, course they are not "selected". I have then read around on the net and I need to create an elemet with a hidden input field where all the randomly selected users is inserted to with comma separation, but dont know how?[code]...
I want to show pictures of my students on a page so I can take the presence easily. I made that using a MySQL DB with php. That's the easy part.
Next, i managed to make a jquery script so when I click each image the border of that image cycle through green, red and yellow (in - out - late css class).
Here is the html code (id from hidden field is the student number)
<div class="presences-container">
<ul>
<li class="presences-image in"><img src="7465.jpg">
<input type="hidden" id="7465" name="presence2" value="in"/></li>
[Code]....
Now, I want to set each hidden field value according to the state of the image (in ou or late) with jquery and submit all hidden field to put it in my DB.
function submitPartsForm(str) {
var count=document.getElementsByName("partId");
for(var i=0;i<count.length;i++)
{
document.mylist.myNum[i].value= document.getElementsByName("partNum")
(i).value;}
document.forms["mylist"].submit();
}
myNum[] is a hidden variable and partNum is the name of a text field
that has many instances i mean there are many textfields with the same
name so it forms a column in a data table.
I have a webpage which the user can drag a marker around inside a div and the script then shows the standard js alert box with the final positions of the marker once the user has stopped dragging it about. What I need to do is get the script to add these values to two hidden input elements in the page.

[URL]. Users fill in a form which has items of furniture, so they enter a number next to each item of furniture. The HTML uses text fields. When the form is submitted, the form is submitted to a php script that emails the results to myself. I am trying to also have a javascript function which runs before the php script runs. This javascript works out the cubic footage of all the items. If a user put "3" in the sofa text field, and I have defined that a sofa is 45 cubic feet, then the javascript will multiply 3 * 45. It will do a similar thing for all items of furniture, then add them all up to give a total cubic feet. I want that total field to then sent as a variable to the php script, along with all the other variables.
My code so far (which doesn't work)
<script language="JavaScript">
function calculate(){
var sofa_3_seater = document.getElementById('sofa_3_seater').value*45;
var sofa_2_seater = document.getElementByID('sofa_2_seater').value*30;
var armchair_large = document.getElementByID('armchair_large').value*15;
var total=sofa_3_seater+sofa_2_seater+armchair_large;
document.getElementByID('total').value = total;
}</script>
I have used a hidden field for the total value:
<input type="hidden" name="total" value="">
I want the javascript result to change the value of the hidden field that is called total. Then I want it all to be posted to the PHP script and email everything to me, including this newly calculated total field!
I have a problem created by my complete [rookie] status – only second time venturing into jQuery. I created a simple shopping cart using php and the PayPal buttons (1: buy now, 2: add to cart). The php back end does it great, it generates the table and the buttons and everything works just like it’s supposed to; Except, I forgot to add sizes. So I found out what I need to add, and I realize that the way the buttons work, I will have two different text boxes for size. Not very visually appealing, and since I’m not submitting this to the server before it goes to PayPal to pay, I cannot modify it with php the way I normally would. jQuery / javascript are my only hope of making this work. What I want to do:Have a single textbox where [size] is entered by the user.
Copy the value from the [correct] text box to the Value=”” section of the now hidden field in the PayPal form That way, no matter whether they [BUY NOW] or [ADD to CART] the right size is submitted to the PayPal shopping cart. This is the actual PayPal code that I’m trying to change
<table>
<tr>
<td>
<input type="hidden" name="on1" value="Size" maxlength="200">Size</td>
[code].....
I got this far, and then decided to find how to insert the "enteredVALUE" into the right place in the input text field (what I called output) and I've not been able to figure out how to stuff it in there.
I have a JavaScript function for swapping the values of rows in a table. I have a hidden field in each row to carry a record ID. As I switch the rows the function will update the hidden field but doesn't do it correctly if I switch a number of rows. I dynamically set the values to switch when the page loads but how can I change these values when the rows are moved.The idea is to change the order of a recordset by clicking on an up or down arrow and then save the values on the record id and sort order, the two hidden fields in each row.
function swapCells(idA,idB,id1,id2)
{
var cellA=document.getElementById('menu'+idA);
[code]....
Here is some sample code from my html page:
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
function setProperties(formElement)
{
formElement.form.elements["customerID"].value=1;
alert(formElement.form.elements["customerID"].value);
}
</script>
There are two submit buttons and I would like to change the hidden field value for one of the buttons when it is clicked. I have tried various ways to assign a value to the hidden field in the javascript but none of them works including the above. I have tried "formElement.form.customerID.value", "formElement.form.getElementById "customerID"); etc but it does not work. What is the right way of assigning the hidden field value in javascript.
I have a draggable marker on my page that sets the value of a javascript variable when the marker is released.I want to submit this value to store it in a database however I cannot figure out how to pass this javascript variable as a hidden form field.Here is my code. I suspect this is completelyhow to make this "lat" value available to me after the form has been submitted.
Code:
<form name="myform" method="post" action="" >
<input type="hidden" name="lat" id="lat"
[code].....
I have a the next code...
In the code i chage the 'cambio' value with the next code (for example)
But never execute SacarDatos().... the event 'chage' is only for select? i think no.
How can i do it?
I'm trying, so far unsuccessful to make a function to change the name of a hidden input based upon the country of the user, i have some php code that determines there country of origin of the user fine. I then have a small java script function to change the name of the hidden input depending on the country of origin.
The php variable that holds the country of origin is $country; that variable then needs to be assigned to x in my java script function. $country is equal to AU if your in Australia and US if your in America.[code]...
I have a form where attachments can be added. Those attachment values will be wrapped into html code so it will be links. As they can click on a + sign to add more input fields, the amount of input fields is dynamic.
For each input tag there is, this value will be written to a hidden form field called "url" before it will be sent to the database.
Now it works and adds data to the database... but not for every form field apparently. Only for 1 new field..
Code JavaScript:
1. I've got INPUT -> "rate" (id)2. when value in INPUT changes I want to recalculate the VALUE, which I want to on-fly print live in <div id='money'></div> I do RATE(value)*4;
How to do that?[URL]..
I am having 2 input fields. Both will have only the integer values. Its a minimum and maximum values. The condition is The minimum value of the 2nd input field should be greater than 1st input field. and 1st input field value should be minimum than 2nd input field. For that I tried with
Jquery Script
$('document').ready(function(){
$('#project_form1').validate({
rules: {
minfield: {
[Code].....
Using JQuery how do you loop through fields taking a value from each one and multiplying with a specific value.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am writing a sort of calculator, I have a text input field as where I display the answer.
How do I modify the contents of this?
I have got as far as getElementById('elementName') hehe.
What lovely piece of syntax will allow me to change the contents of this?
I would like to do something that:
Choose option:
To the option dates are assigned:
1 = from
09.10.2010
to 10
.10.2010
2 = from
09.11.2010
to 10
.12.2010
3 = from 24
.05.2010
to 29
.07.2010
And I want after choosing some option dates to change into the inputvalue.
1 2 3
From: do:
<!--
<select id="rate">
<option value="1">1</option>
<option value="2">2</option>
<option value="3">3</option>
</select>
From: <input type="text"id="from"value="03.10.2010" size="12" />
do: <input type="text" id="to"value="09.10.2010"size="11" />
<input type="submit" />
-->
I tried to do it with function ".val();" but value are keeping steady. It can be done any other jQuery function?
i have code like this (simplified):
<input type="text" class="text_field" value="http://localhost:8080/webdavservlet/1000043_1308042799636_file.txt"/>
And i would like to change value attribute of input field (for example only to file.txt but it doesn't matter). Is this possible? I'm browsing google 2 hours, but still didn't find nothing which works...If I had an id instead of class, it would be easy, but i have only class and I cant change this (its dynamically generated with framework i'm using).
PS. Int my html there are more input elements with class="text_field", it would be good to change them all.
