Play Random Background Music Automatically When Site Loads?
Oct 28, 2011
Looking for a way to have background music play automatically when my site loads, with the music being randomly picked from a list of several songs.. So each time the page loads, a different song should play.. Can be JavaScript or Flash, whichever way works the best.
I have got a client who wants to have music playing on his site, the music player should be opened in a pop-up window. The website is standard html / css / js website, without any flash or such things.
Problem which I have:
I open the pop up window with music player when visitor visits Home Page, when visitor comes to other page without visiting home page I need to check if pop up window is opened or not and if it is not opened I open a pop up window and start to play music, how to achieve it?
I would need your helpful with a code for playing a music or video after 5 seconds launched page. I need a code to say under <body> </body> like autoplay.
This is a script that will load a page with a random background song, plus will refresh the page when the song finishes!
<script language="javascript"> // use this script freely // var numsong stands for the number of songs given var nummidi = 5 day = new Date() seed = day.getTime() ran = parseInt(((seed - (parseInt(seed/1000,10) * 1000))/10)/100*numsong + 1,10) if (ran == (5)) { song=("song source") words=("song name") time=("song time in seconds") } else if (ran == (4)) { song=("song source") words=("song name") time=("song time in seconds") } else if (ran == (3)) { song=("song source") words=("song name") time=("song time in seconds") } else if (ran == (2)) { song=("song source") words=("song name") time=("song time in seconds") } else if (ran == (1)) { song=("song source") words=("song name") time=("song time in seconds") } document.write('<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="' + time + ' URL=npmusic.html">') document.write('<EMBED SRC= "' + song + '" CONTROLS=smallconsole HEIGHT=45 WIDTH=290 AUTOSTART=TRUE LOOP=FALSE VOLUME=100%>') document.write('<br>You are listening to ' + words + ' ') </SCRIPT>
This script was made for a small pop-up window to have nothing but the song file in it. Also, you use this script in the <body> of the file. (Yes, the meta tag works there) ...
I have installed a flash mp3 player that streams music while browsing my website. Unfortunately there is a problem that any time you click a link to another page, everything reloads and the music restarts. Looking for advice on how to implement the music stream so it plays continuously and not affected by changing pages of the site. I would like to avoid any sort of frames implementation. Only other thing I can think of is some sort of AJAX implementation
I see when I post a link to Facebook for a youtube video that it shows a thumbnail. When i click the thumbnail it plays the video right there on my facebook page.
I am wondering how do they do that trick?
So, let me take a guess.
Facebook is probably using some RSS feed aggregator to pull the info from YouTube.
They probably are also using maybe jQuery + CSS to hide the video at first. When you click the thumbnail it shows the video and then the video begins playing.
So, two questions: if that is how they do it then How do they make the hidden video not play when the page loads? how do they get it to start playing automatically once the video is revealed?
I would like user to be able to switch photos manually (with "next" and "previous" links ) or automatically, i.e., to have a link on the page that says "play slideshow" or something, then the slides switch automatically, like this guy has here, [URL] ("play" link in the middle switches photos automatically; he doesn't use cycle plugin, but I'd like to do this w/cycle plugin if possible..)
I've got this JavaScript code that I'm using to play audio on my site made specifically for iPhones, iPods, and whatnot. However, my only problem is, that I can only pick one audio file to play from, no matter what. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I really need this specific code cause it allows me to play audio without going into the Media Player on the iPhone and iPod.
Here's what I have in the head section:
And the body:
And now to actually play the audio:
I can play audio fine, but I'm only limited to one audio file per page. Is there anyway around this??
I'm attempting to have Javascript / jQuery play a flash player automatically based on the inbound/back link. The objective is to only play it automatically for people coming from a certain link. Is this possible with Javascript / jQuery?
i'm trying to build a bidding site using ajax, and php.what i want to do is that: when the bid time is over 5 minutes, the "div" i've placed will refresh every 10 seconds, and when its under it will refres every 5 seconds.i've tried everything i know but i still cant make it work.the best i got is that i have to refresh the whole site using the F5 button and then it changed, but i want it to change automaticly.this is my main html/php code:
I am new to jQuery and have managed to create a tabbed interface with 4 sections. When the page loads, the tab content of section 1 shows up and the user can click on the others links to show other sections. In other words, tab 1 is always the first to be "active." However, I want to have a random "active" tab every time the page loads, so that other sections can be "active" as well randomly. Once the page loads with the random active tab, then the user can click to look at other sections.
I'd like to know how you would include updated blog posts in html? I assume it uses an RSS feed of some sort... but what kind of code is needed to automatically retrieve the updates from other sites and include them on one single web page?
(For instance, I want to "include" someone else's web content on my page as "here's the latest from so and so:" and then you could read whatever is retrieved from that URL.)
An example I'm talking about is the way news sites offer the news headlines in a java script box for websites. The web owner just puts in one code and the headlines are automatically updated by the news agency... How do I do that or find a template code to change with my custom information?
. I have a problem where I designed my web page project and eventually it must contain a background song that will continuously play even clicking the links/pages.
I have a site using Grey Box pop up ( http:[url]....).It automatically pops up when you go to any of the 5 pages on the site. Is it possible to add a cookie to it so that it only pop up the first time someone comes to any one of the pages?
I'm trying to add java script to my website so it loads my background image. I followed a tutorial from here, http://thecodecentral.com/2008/02/21...t-image-loader and so I copy and pasted this code into note pad:var loader = new ImageLoader('http://www.website.com/htdocs/image.jpg');
loader.loadEvent = function(url, image){ //actions to perform when the image is loaded //alert(url + ' is loaded');
I need to run a php script in the background after one of my pages loads (eventually it will be 2 or three background scripts depending on the user.) I am guessing I will need to use $.get for this but can not seem to figure out how to do it. Currently I have the following in my code:
I'm trying to add java script to my website so it loads my background image. I followed a tutorial from here, [url] and so I copy and pasted this code into note pad:
And saved the file as imageloader.js. I didn't put the actual website or image in this post because I don't want it to get referenced when searching my website in google. When I open the page, there is no loader, the image takes a couple seconds to load when you first go to my page like usual. Am I doing something wrong? did I call the file a wrong name? should I reference imageloader.js in the html code of the webpage?
I am developing a site with Dreamweaver CS3 and have a little knowledge of HTML.
I need a solution for the following:
Visitors can come to my site through a referrer for ex: [url]
The referrers information (cesar017) should be prefilled automatically in a form field on another page than the index page. This means the visitor first can look around on the other pages of the site and then go to the page with the form.
I dont use a database at this moment, I only want a certain field automatically prefilled with the referrers info from the URL for ex : <input type= hidden -or text- name= partner id= partner value= ""/> In this case the field should have the value=cesar017
I understood this can be solved with Javascript or PHP and cookies, but I nearly dont know anything about this and Dreamweaver has not automated this function.
Im having a bit of an issue with a website im building for a band.The band want a site that is 2500 width so that when the page loads you can either scroll right or left to view the out of screen material...i cant find a way of the page loading centered...it is always loading to the far left and all i can do is scroll right...i have uploaded the site to http:[url].... for you to have a look at so you see what i mean.I origionally posted this thread in the CSS forum but was instructed this would be a Javascript issue.
Can a random page be loaded without a prior visit to a site?
I have a list of 15 people with a photo and contact information in a table with 3 columns and 5 rows. The issue is that the people near the bottom want a chance to be at the top the first time the page is viewed. It is unlikely that a second visit would happen.
Is this possible to load a random page for a site without it being viewed or logged into before, therefore no cookies will be used.
I'm the webmaster for a recreational organization. As part of one page of the site, I have an HTML "Calendar at a Glance" of the organization's events for the month. It's a simple table of a calendar, 7 across by whatever needed down, and I manually create it each month - not a big deal.
Every day I go in and darken the background color of the current day's cell by changing the appropriate <TD> entry to <TD bgcolor="c63800"> and uploading the page. Takes well under a minute start to finish. Thus the calendar gradually changes color over the course of the month, with the past dates dark and the future dates lighter and thus more apparent to the eye.
But I have to ask if there's a nifty way in which this might be done automatically, based on the current day and the number (the day of the month) that follows the <TD> entry.
im having a dumbass problem its probably something stupid as it always is with me. Basically ive incorporated a javascript random image background. It works however it occasionally displays a WHITE bg, as if its trying to link to one of the images in the array and its not there. To get what i mean view the link below and click REFRESH until it goes white. Code:
