I have a html file that I want to load, loop through the json data and for each json entry I want to add a new block of the html and insert the json data into the matching div/class of the html. json looks like this:
{"Super" : [{"Name" : "John Doe", "Age" : "30"}, {"Name" : "Jane Doe", "Age" : "40"}]};
html looks like this:
<div class="Name"></div><div class="Age"></div>
So for each json entry of name/age, I want to insert that into the html, and then add another row, until all json data has been fetched. After this I want to insert all of this into #box, which is just a divthat should contain that html. Looping like this obviously does not work, since I just keep replacing the same html through the loop.

I work for a company called Best of the Best (www.botb.com). We use Flash countdown clocks to mark the end of our competitions. The issue we now have is that our clients are using mobile platforms more and more and as bloody Apple wont support flash (not fully anyway) we need the option to detect whether our users have flash and if not then replace the current <OBJECT>Blah Blah Parameters etc</OBJECT> with <DIVCLASS="NON_FLASH_CONTAINER">All other bits in middle</DIV>Is this at all possible?

I am working on a servlet. I am obtaining the JSON data and I want to pass it to the jQuery to construct and display the table out of it.
Everytime the servlet posts a request, it gets the JSON data, and i want to display that as a chart and table using javaScript. For that I need to know how to pass the json data parameter to a jQuery from servlet.
Example :

Where function(parameter) is the jQuery function.
I have a wordpress site with dropdown menus that currently are working with jQuery, now the issue is when trying to dynamically update the menus and parsing it with json.parse. For some reason I am not getting any data back of the following code (if I try to alert (data) I just get a blank box).

and just print out the function, than I would get the data on screen. now if I was to access my php file directly than that fill will output an error due to missing plugins.. I guess that is just how wordpress sorta work.. but again I do get the info that i need by just printing out the function. Do anyone knows a work around for this? I am kinda pulling my hairs out.

Problem is, I can't access dataValues at the server side once I assign this same URL to the iframe.Is there any other way to POST JSON value through form submission without ajax? or any other way out, I am trying to download file that is based on some parameters and isn't a direct download link.

This is what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to load a flash movie
transparently over my existing html page (not covering the full
screen, but 75% of it), so it is kind of similar to a "splash screen"
in the respect it is to be an introductory screen.
I already have a flash movie made (although for some reason
WMODE=TRANSPARENT isn't working), but we'll get to that in a sec. I
also already have all the html for the playing the movie and
displaying my page. The html to display the page is made up of a
bunch of table rows within a <DIV> tag.
During onLoad of the <body> element, I call a javascript method to
actually play the flash. The flash does play, but what happens is
that instead of playing on top of the existing page, it plays at the
top of the page and if you scroll down, there is the rest of the html
page (the tables and stuff). I dont want it at the top, but to
actually overlay the tables until it finishes playing, then to go away
automatically.
I'm struggling with the html part of this. I know browsers render
from top to bottom, but I dont know how to display over the existing
stuff.
I toyed with the idea of making the flash into a popup in a new window
(window.open), but to make it look right, I'd have to make it a
transparent window, borderless, etc... and I'm not sure thats the
right way to do it either.
I am trying to pass some HTML code from an ASP page back into a JQUERY function called addlist but I can't get the syntax right with regards to writing out the html via ASP. if I dont Include html in my response.write then my function addlist works as it should. I am guessing this is in relation to ' or " [code]..
View 14 Replies View RelatedI am new to Ajax and have a bit of a gap in my understanding. I have a status monitor that sets a JS function to run every second with setInterval. When the document loads, I will need to get data from the server asynchronously (I wont know the info before hand) and use that data to set id values to find them as nodes and change them later on.
The problem is as I see it, that the callback function I will use to grab the initial data is coming back via a JSON object. The callback function is done with javascript. So, how can I take the JSON data, or converted to javascript data and set my ID values when the document loads? If I change the values dynamically with the DOM, will those values be reliable enough to use as my other recurring functions find them and set their innerHTML properties?
I have a basic flash gallery that I embedded into my site (HTML & CSS). When viewed in Firefox everything is fine (840px by 427px), but when viewed in IE the gallery changes size & needs to be (887px by 440px) to be viewed correctly.
So, I put an Javascript If Then Else statement. Now it targets and changes in the IE browser (width='887' height='440') , but it also changes the Firefox one to 887x440 when it should stay the original 840x427.

I have a web service that accepts application/json but returns HTML to place in a DIV. I am not having any luck configuring the .ajax call so that it both POSTs in a format accepted by the web service and does not attempt to validate the HTML response as JSON.

It would seem that I cannot have anything other than 'json' in the dataType, even though from the docs it appears that this only affects the interpretation of the response, changing it's value to 'html' causes the web service to reject the call. I've also tried a converter but perhaps I'm not using it properly. Is it possible to use jquery to post JSON and get back HTML? What configurations am I missing?

I have two versions of this document. The first version uses only JavaScript and the standard PROMPT(). It works very well, but I would like to insert the name prompt into the page using the input command. For some reason the variable loaded in the HTML statement doesn't get passed to the JavaScript. My goal: To swap the visibility of two divs via the user defined form value. Thus getting 'Iowa' or whatever school via the form value, not manual declaration. What I have done successfully so far: 'Manually' pass a variable (Iowa) to Javascript, but not automatically via the value of the form. With the manual method, the divs toggle. 'Iowa' shows up, 'Options' goes away. I've tried: Things like 'var college = document.searchfield.value' - to no avail... What I'm using: CSS Globe's 'Searchfield' - autocomplete search form. Also a previously successful Javascript function to manually switch div visibility.
